I don't believe that I should review this product based on fragrance- I think scent is a personal preference and wouldn't recommend/not recommend a product due to scent.
That being said, I am a huge fan of Pacifica. I have seven of their spray fragrances, a whole clutch full of their solid perfumes to carry during school, and a few tubes of their body butter/body wash/soaps. Avalon Juniper is difficult to find in stores, I've found, and so I ordered this in a solid perfume online. I'll say that it's a sharp fragrance with a sort of "sour", citrus-y bite to it. Sillage is good, as far as I can tell- somebody about a foot or two away from me asked about the scent.
I probably wouldn't buy this particular scent again, but I said I'd repurchase just because I would repurchase any solid perfume from Pacifica. Based on the solid itself, not the fragrance.

I purchases samples of this perfume and Tibetan Mountain Temple to see which one I would like more. I love them both! Avalon Juniper is described as a wintery fragrance, but to me it would be perfect for spring/summer. I purchased a sample of the spray version. On me this smells of fresh pine and grapefruit. More grapefruit than pine though. The initally blast almost smells like marijuana. haha! But the drydown is beautiful grapefruit, not too sweet, and anchored with a lovely pine which gives it a fresh herbacious scent. It's super sunny, fresh and easy to wear. This morning I purchased the solid of Tibetan Mountain Temple and plan to wear it through the winter months. I also purchased the full size spray of Avalon Juniper from Pacifica's site. I will wear this in spring through summer. I just love it! The Avalon Juniper had more sillage than the TMT and lasted all evening. I even got a quick whiff when I jumped into the shower this morning. I definitely recommend both of these fragrances! They are interesting and reasonably priced. Love!

Mmmmm! My December scent! I have the soap, body butter, and solid fragrance. It's so divine! I have to admit, it kind of smells like really good weed or gin. Earthy, sweet, and slightly pine like. But it's beautiful. Everything turns a bit sweeter on me, so when I wear it the "gin" scent fades off a bit and leaves a really beautiful scent that's perfect for winter. It's not spicy or musky. It's truly unique. I will be the first to admit that the staying power isn't as good as I'd like, but the little tins are so darn cheap, it's worth reapplying. Layer helps as well and Pacifica products are the only ones that I've found that dont' make me break out in a rash. Even the body butters are amazing! I almost feel like listening to Enya when I wear it because it feels so "winter fairy-like". The description by Pacifica really does say it best:
"Juniper is powerful and mysterious. Thriving in the icy regions of Northern Europe, it is considered magical and has been used throughout time to usher in and out the months of winter. I have blended this scent as a celebration of the Winter Solstice, one of my favorite days of the year."
So spot on! I've gotten so many compliments on it. I would say that this, Spanish Amber, and Nerola Orange Blossom are my favorites. I hope that Pacifica keeps this scent around. It really does smell magical.

This has become the ultimate "wintery" perfume to me. Some perfumes are considered winter because they are just too heavy to wear in the summer - or because they have a warming quality. Avalon Juniper is wintery because it embodies winter. It is to a personal fragrance what a pine tree is to the outdoor winter air - without making you smell like a pinetree - it's much more of a citrus than a pine scent. It is refreshing and somewhat bracing - like cold winter air - but in a very wearable way. The scent basically smells like juniper w/ citrus. It doesn't have the feel of a sunny Italian garden like some cypress chypres, but, as I said it is reminiscent of brisk winter air. I have been looking a long time for a wintery perfume w/ similar notes that is not masculine and finally I found it in Avalon Juniper. It could be considered unisex as a man could sort of get away with wearing it, but I'd consider it more of a woman's perfume. (p.s. although the scent is perfect for and very evocative of winter it would also prob. be great for summer). Good lasting power for a natural perfume.
