I bought this in Rose, a dark color, so I don't know if the lighter colors work well. Rose is easy to layer so you can get the desired intensity you want, from a just-bitten red to a deeper red (though not too deep). It stays on for several hours, and doesn't dry out my lips; it's quite hydrating, actually. There's even a tingly sensation after applying, which is nice. Love it!

I bought this lip balm in "peach". It's orange, I thought it would be more lighter. It has sparkles. When I put it on, it didn't feel like it was moisturizing. When I took it off, it made my lips dry and my "lip condition" came. Since I was in 8th grade, if my lips got irritated, my lips would turn swollen, red bumps would come, and then the worst part: they will burst and leave an orangish layer. Its nasty and unpleasant. I will not use it because what happen. For some reason E.L.F lip treatments make my lips irritated, but their lipsticks don't. I like how the lip balm packaging shows the color of the lip balm. It didn't work for me, but for others it can. I would recommend this product for someone who doesn't have a lip problem and doesn't want to waste a lot of money.

I have this product in "Pink" and "Rose"--I originally bought the pink one, but it looked way too cool-toned/mod/60s on my yellow-toned skin. I'd say only buy that if a) you're super fair-skinned, with pink undertones, or b) you're okay with Nicki Minaj-pink lips. *shudder* Anyhow, the rose shade is a lovely, slightly sheer red with a bit of coral undertone. It can be built up to medium-full opacity, or just swiped on once for a "bitten" red flush to the lips.

I would say this is one of the nicer tinted lip balms out there right now. I've tried both the Maybelline Baby Lips line and the L'Oreal Le Balm line, and neither of them had the staying power, visibility, or softening properties of this little 3-buck powerhouse! I can get a wear time of about two hours out of this, while the Maybelline and L'Oreal products barely lasted for an hour--their textures were just too thin and slick to stay on long. And this E.L.F. lip balm genuinely leaves my lips feeling soft and plush for almost an hour more after it wears away, which neither one of the other two brands did for me. The texture does feel a bit thicker and drier upon application than you might be used to with lip balms, but that's what enables it to stay on longer than other balms! Once it's on the lips, it doesn't feel drying at all.

The product doesn't really have much of a scent if you try to sniff it in the tube, but once it's on your lips you'll become aware of a very, very slight minty fragrance and sensation. To my nose it's very light and pleasant, but be aware of that if your lips are sensitive to fragrance.

Overall, this is a wonderful product if you're looking for a nice, visible flush of color in a product that heals your dry lips. Go pick some up! It's worth it!

It depends on the color you get, but these are pigmented and moisturizing lip balm. The darker shades like the rose and plum show. The lighter shades doesn't show well up on the lips if you have naturally pigmented lips and also the color goes on splotchy. It has a slight glossy finish and because it is moisturizing it will feather out the lips.

I thought that this product was okay, ONLY BECAUSE I GOT IT TINTED IN PINK. Due to the availability of this product, I only got this because it was the second to last one. The package it came in was alright, but when I purchased it it was ripping apart.

The container is very nice, however not that much product than I'd hope. Still with SPF, not bad, not bad.

I think overall it's very good, and very good for others who want a cheap, affordable and sleek lip balm. But personally I wouldn't buy it again for myself.

I love everything about this. The texture, scent, packaging, and look of the product on my lips. And it has SPF 15. I have been looking for a good lip balm to carry around work for convinient application and this is it! For only $3, you cannot go wrong.

I have been looking for a sheer, "true rose" MLBB shade for the Fall/Winter that had a decent amount of moisture to it since my lips have been so dry. None of the L'Oreal or Revlon tinted balms had the shade I was going for and I don't think the Burt's Bees tinted balms are worth their price. My friend had this product in Nude and she loves it. I saw the Rose shade in Target and figured for $3, I couldn't really go wrong. The Rose is that perfect MLBB sheer shade I wanted for daily wear. I like the scent and feel of the mint so that isn't an issue for me. I can even apply this without a mirror and ended up buying 2 more so that I have one on me at all times. After reading the other reviews, I think I will order both the Nude and the Peach shades. The SPF 15 is also a really nice added bonus. And, like other reviewers have said, the packaging is awesome.

I bought this in nude and I love it! I have very red lips and don't feel comfortable wearing pigmented lipsticks but this gives a coral sort of color. So cute!

As a lip balm, it's not too bad. It's sheer, pretty colour, spf is a big plus. If you don't like glosses that feel slick or sticky it's nice. I like my balms a bit softer though, this gets quite hard when it's cold outside, and I'm not a fan of the tingly mint feeling.

It's a nice lip balm that has the added benefit of SPF15.
I have the clear one that goes on smoothly, adds a slight shine to my lips, and leaves a minty sensation.
I like that it's not sticky, but rather slick and not oily.
The price is okay for $3 but I think still pricey compared to the $1 products they have. Also, I finished mine pretty quickly so I'm sure the amount of product is actually not as much as regular lip balms.
My favourite thing about this lip balm is the sleek packaging. It's simple, yet sleek. Looks great when I take it out of my purse.
I would only buy this product again if E.L.F. was having their 50% off studio line so that I'd end up getting it for $1.5 Otherwise, I don't feel like the product is worth it.

My favorite lip balm. It feels so nice on your lips, like a minty/tingly feeling. I love the consistency and it keeps my lips so soft. I use it every night before bed. My only complaint is that it seems like a kind of small amount of product for 3 bucks, but it's still not bad! I think it's worth it. Better than Chapstick, Carmex, and Blistex combined, IMO. *UPDATE: I bought my 2nd tube of this about a month ago. Like I said in my original review, I still love the feeling and consistency of the balm, however I had some really bad chapped lips the other day and used this frequently for 2 days and it did absolutely nothing to solve the problem..it softened my lips up but did not help the red, sore chapped lips. The weird thing is, the first tube I got was great! I guess my lips just didn't get that chapped during that time. Maybe I'm expecting too much from this. Idk..but I got more relief from a generic Chapstick than from this lol. But if you buy this for the SPF purposes, it works like a charm. Feels amazing on your lips..just don't expect it to relieve chapped lips. Oh and another downside is that there doesn't seem to be a lot in the tube. I bumped this down to 4 lippies instead of 5 because it doesn't meet all my needs but I would still repurchase. And I still LOVE e.l.f.!

I love this lip balm for summer! I have the color in Peach, which is not true to the swatch online but it was a prettier color than I expected! Its a nice light coral, perfect for warmer weather. The balm has a light minty taste and goes on smooth. The packaging is sleek and stays closed. Im a huge fan of elf and this is definitely a winner for me! :)

So this says it is good for chapped lips...not in my opinion...the peppermint made my chapped lips burn. I had to immediately remove it with a tissue. They were inflammed so I put a bit of Neosporin to soothe them.
Now that my lips are healed, I tried it again, and it actually is a nice feeling balm. I like the lid. It stays put; feels like a suction when you put it on.
Overall I will purchase it again. Right now I have the clear version. Might try a tinted one at a later time.

This is a little gem that needs to be tried! They have recently come out with this balm in tints. (There are two lip tints on the e.l.f site. I'm review the one with an spf 15, not an spf 8.)

It is a sheer wash of moisturizing color. Feels as good as chapstick or my carmex and is a little minty in flavor. I personally have gotten away from traditional lipsticks. I use a lipstain, and a clear balm throughout the day to moisturize. This is perfect though to use instead of the clear, as it gives my lips a sheer color boost! I recieved this in peach, its lovely on my lips, perfect and what I expected. (although in the tube it's not true to color, looks bright coral.) I will be purchasing this again on my next order in nude, and rose. I beleive this is going to be a permanant part of my makeup routine and it's only $3!!!

I actually LOVE this stuff. It is much better than Soft Lips and Burt's Bees Lip Balm in my opinion. I suffered with dry, cracked, flakey, gross looking lips all winter long and was about to give up, thinking I'd never find relief. I reluctantly ordered this online but I honestly didn't have high hopes for it at first, considering the $3.00 price tag. Boy was I wrong to think that! This little product packs a punch and actually delivered results! My lips are now soft and supple (even after just the first application)!

I like the sleek design and high quality look of the packaging, however, it is made of a metal-like material, which gives me the chills every time my lips come into contact with it. This is obviously remedied by making sure enough of the product is sticking out before applying. Packaging gets 4 out of 5 stars from me for this reason.

As a lip balm, this doesn't deliver for moisturizing or glossiness. The SPF factor is nice but not enough to repurchase this. The mintiness is nice but not enough to make me reach for it over cheaper stuff or prettier stuff. Nice packaging, great size.

I prefer SoftLips or even the Luscious Liquid Lipstick from E.L.F. over this.

This crap actually made me lips more dry and chapped. My lips also started to grow little bumps all over which never happens. It has this minty scent and feel that I don't like either. This goes in the trash.

I love this balm. It was a slight minty feeling to it that I did not expect. It's perfect. Plus, the packaging is gorgeous. It's a sleek metal tube. It's very fancy looking. You have to be careful when closing it though because the top DOES hit all the way to the top of the cap so you should lower the product back down before closing it. I would buy this again and again and again. I love it.

[edit] it IS a bit waxy.

This is from the "Studio" line. I love lip balm so I threw it into my last order. It retails for $3.

I have to say I was immediately turned off by the chemically scent. That has faded a bit but it's still somehow "off." I'm not a big mint fan so I was surprised I didn't mind the mintiness, which is faint and gets fainter with wear. The balm feels moisturizing and kind of a "thick." I do like that it has SPF.

As for packaging - it sure looks sleek, very NARS-esque. But when I look inside the lid, it's obvious they spray painted the metal on the outside and missed the inside. For some reason that bugs me.

All in all, it's an OK balm at an OK price, but I think you can do much better. Clear balm isn't hard to come by and this one just didn't wow me.

P.S. - Don't forget to ALWAYS use a code if you're ordering from eyeslipsface.com. Check retailmenot - you can usually find one for 50% off!

this lip balm has a so so texture not very smooth & quite thick & sticky, but i LOVE the minty-ness of it and gave it extra lippies just for that reason & having spf isn't bad either :) & the packaging is sooo freakin sexy which is one of the reasons i got it & i definitely agree with the other review about being uber careful to bring the product down a bit before replacing the cap :).
Edit: Just adding to the original review. I find that it helps make any lipcolor stand out even more because its very sticky, & I've already repurchased because I love it.
