EDIT: After using this with my regular eye primer, the greens stayed true all day and did not fade the way they did when the MUA applied them, so I'm upping my rating to a 4. One lippie off because the pigmentation is not as good as I feel it could be, and I have to really build the color a lot to get it where I want it to be. However, overall, I'm impressed with this quad.

I love the colors of this quad. They are different from most of the other Chanel quads, and are very Spring/Summery, which is why I went for it when I got my last makeover at the Chanel counter. The MUA did a wonderful combination with the peach on the lid, the teal and sage green mixed in the "V" and the gold on the brow bone. It was gorgeous, and I immediately snapped it up.

Unfortunately, even though she used a primer, within about 4 hours, the greens had completely disappeared from my lids. I don't have oily lids and they normally hold color pretty well even without primer, so this was pretty shocking for me. The peach and gold held up well and looked beautiful even after the greens wore off, but I bought a QUAD, not a duo, so I'm not sure I will be keeping this one. I have several outfits that I really wanted this look to work around. I'm going to use a few other primers to see if they work a little better (the reviews on the Chanel eye primer have been mixed), and I'll update, but for now I have to give only 3 lippies on this one.

I love the Chanel Quad Birds of Paradise. I think the colors are soft and beautiful.

When I saw the promo pics for Chanel's Winter 2009 collection, I pretty much died over the Bird of Paradise palette: gold-toned tropical colors centered around teal and green? It's like the embodiment of all my favorite makeup colors in one package!

Unfortunately, I have mixed feelings about the performance of the actual product - though it is undeniably gorgeous! I knew the pigmentation wasn't going to be out of the park, but I was still disappointed despite seeing swatches online. The golden yellow and sage green are hard to differentiate on my skintone (for reference, I am an NC25/30, closer to 30 at the time of purchase), and the coral, though gorgeous, was much harder to work with than I'd expected. As a group of colors, I never really use everything in the palette together, though I over-use the gold to blend out everything, and will probably hit pan on that long before I use up any of the other colors.

The colors also fade very quickly on my lids, even with a primer like TFSI and/or cream shadow underneath - I get ~2 hours before the lighter colors are unnoticeable, and even the dark teal fades quickly, leaving only shimmer behind. Oddly, the shimmer sticks around quite well; I don't get much fallout.

I'm not sure I completely regret this purchase; though very expensive and underperforming, I am still completely in love with the colors! I would not purchase it again even if it weren't LE though, and am actively on the hunt for better-pigmented dupes of the individual colors (yellow-gold first, since I'm running out of it fast!).

I bought several things from the holiday 2009 collection but this was a tad disappointing. I loved the Murano quad from the Fall 2009 collection but I thought this one paled. The colors were unusual for a holiday collection but I very much liked that--unique, not the same old thing. The shadows just didnt seem to be very pigmented and I found it hard to get any intensity of color (low payoff). For nightime looks, I wanted more intense color. I might pick this up again in the spring when lighter colors will be more appropriate.

*pics at the end of the review*This is a gorgeous eyeshadow quad! It has more of a Spring feel to it than a winter holiday feel, but it's beautiful nonetheless. It is pricey, of course. This retails for $56 and to someone who love Chanel eyeshadows, this is totally worth it.
The colors included in this quad are a beautiful aqua blue, light yellow gold, light orange copper and a pale greenish yellowish mint. They are super soft in texture and the pigmentation does not disappoint. They start off sheer, but are easily buildable. The gold in this quad is totally beautiful! They're all shimmery, but not too frosty and don't have any glitter. So no need to worry about glitter fallout on your face!
Overall I gave this a 4 out of 5, only because I can't see myself using these colors on their own. They are great mixed and matched with other colors, but with the palette alone, there is no real crease or highlight color.
If you already have colors similar to these, I don't think you'd really need to pick this up, unless you like the quality and the name, or the convenience of having them together in this cute little compact. But I'm sure these colors wouldn't be too difficult to dupe with pre-existing eyeshadows that may even be a more economical choice and/or not LE!
Here are a couple of pics of this quad in artificial light:

These swatches are on my bare skin (NC40) without any base:
