a frosty pale, white gold/ greenish-pewter with gold sparkle. This is least pigmented out of all my eyeshadow duos but still has pigmentation. The frosty pale, white gold color is the least pigmented out of all the shadows...it is kind of disappointing. I really like the greenish-peweter color though...it's pigmentation is good but not fantastic. Looks great on my NC30-NC37 but I think it would look great on tan skin as well.

This the only Nars duo that I have that I absolutely cannot stand. I'm fair-medium with olive/yellow undertones, so I generally don't expect colors to just *not* show up on me, but these are just sad. The golden side is practically invisible, so chalky and with so much fallout I can't even use my finger to apply it. And the gray-green side, while better in overall quality, is almost transparent on me. I literally have to pack it on (and I'm talking 4 or 5 applications) to get any color. In the pan they look amazing, but even when I just swatch them I get almost nothing. I don't think this speaks for the quality of Nars shadows overall because I have 6 other duos and 3 singles that I love..I just can't get this one to work at all. Sad to say it, but back to Sephora it goes.

These colors are beautiful, but have to put so much on to show up. I purchased 3 nars duo shadows, and although the colors are beautiful, the quality on me is poor. And these disappear on me, which has not happened with even drugstore shadows on my dry lids. And the $! Too bad, gave them to my teen daughter. Stila is much better quality on me, colors last. Worth every penny!

I think Nars' duos are arguably the best shadows available (MAC is right up there of course) - whoever determines the color combinations and nuances of shades is genius in my opinion. This duo in particular is subtle but beautiful. I have brown eyes and either color works on any level with them. I particularly like the darker greenish color on the lid into the crease. I realize some think the color payoff is not strong but I think it can be as dark or light as one wants. Just gorgeous colors all .... not just this duo...

Ahhh, Taiga! I had sorted this duo to my daughter when we split the cost of a 10-lot of Nars Duos. I loved it, but felt she would look great wearing it to her office. She gave it back to me and said she never reaches for it... lucky me!
I believe this just may be my favorite Nars pairing for several reasons. It's so darned elegant when paired with black eyeliner! It's quite possibly the only shadow that looks great on me without any other face makeup! Like the previous reviewer, I have fair to light medium skin tone.
Taiga is subtle enough for day wear yet it has a really sexy quality that converts to evening very well. To dress it up, I sweep the golden side of Kilimanjaro on my lids before applying Taiga's light gold of over it. It's a sheer color on it's own, but the base shadow adds enough depth to pump it up. I use the green/gray in the outer corners. The best look for the least effort I've ever found! 'Just love this one!

The rebuy is hypothetical, since I've never finished a NARS eyeshadow.
I have pale yellow-toned (sallow) skin and hazel eyes. Most taupes make me look like I have a severe hangover or am a victim of domestic violence. That includes popular, supposedly suit-everyone favorites like Satin Taupe.
The khaki-ish side of Taiga, on the other hand, somehow works. It looks like a grey taupe on my coloring, and is pretty with pink lips and cheeks. The greenish tones disappear and the residual color is very elegant. The pale lemony-gold side is what I always wanted a white or highlighter shade to be. It brightens without looking chalky.
I imagine this won't suit everyone, but if you have coloring similar to mine, try it.
Both sides have a tiny amount of fine sparkle. It's not heavy and doesn't make my increasingly wrinkly eyelids look more so.
PS. I had greensmoke, but it looked absolutely horrible on me. I got rid of it immediately.

I just purchased this duo and have only worn it about twice. I like the neutrality and blendability of the colors. This is my first NARS purchase and I'm not disappointed.

This is a gorgeous duo! The cream side is very pale with a fair amount of shimmer in it. On me it disappears unless I wear some type of base or primer. The green side is the real winner in the duo. It is a smoky pewter green and looks fantastic as a liner and in the crease. I agree with the other reviewer who compared it to MAC Greensmoke. It is similar but much warmer. First glance at the duo doesn't scream out to buy it but once applied you really see how beautiful it is.

Beautiful duo! One side has a greyish green with shimmer and the other side is a cream color with a hint of light green to it with shimmer. This looks best over a base rather than a primer. At first I thought I didn't like the light side, but once I applied over a base it looked way better and the same as in the pan. The colors look beautiful paired together. The light side all over lid and the dark on the crease. These are perfect for a neutral smokey look. I ordered this online and when I got it I wasn't disappointed. I'm very happy I got this!

The swatches we've seen do not do this duo justice. I think a lot of people have passed up Taiga based on a muddy, greyish mess with sparkles that we've seen on our screens from the various swatching sources.
Thank goodness I saw this in person, or I'd have missed out, too. The greenish side is very similar to MAC Greensmoke, but is a little less cool and vibrant. It's a more subdued, sexier Greensmoke. The sparkle effect is not overwhelming but it is there, so this is not for very toned down looks.
The whitish side is unfortunately a dud. It's a creamy, warm white wash but appears chalky and even chunky on the skin. I am not going to use it for any purpose, I don't think. There are better options out there.
The duo is thus pretty expensive for one good shadow, but it's worth the splurge if you're looking for a sexy green for the holidays.
