I actually use this around my eyes. I find it to be superior to any anti aging/ anti wrinkle cream out there!

I love this product! I normally have combination-oily skin, but in part due to the winter and in part over exfoliating, my skin has gotten extremely dry and sensitive (to the point I can't even wear makeup because it only flakes and peels off, so gross).
I needed a product that would moisturize my skin while not giving me that oily complexion. It's only been a week so far, but my skin feels hydrated, smooth and supple.
I use it as a night cream because it can take a little time to absorb. A little goes a long way. And I'm back to finally being able to wear makeup again! :)

This stuff is amazing for the winter months. In the winter months my skin starts to flake and It is the only thing that works on my combination skin. I have tried everything and keep going back to this. A little on the pricey side but 100% worth every penny. The packaging is great and a little goes a long way. Does not break me out and definitely gives the perfect barrier for the harsh cold winter wind. LOVE!! Have recommended to family and friends. I am going to buy my 6th bottle later today. :)

I am on my second bottle of this moisturizer and I love it. I initially bought it after an allergic reaction to another facial moisturizer - I was looking for something to soothe my red, itchy, swollen skin. After just a day or two of use my skin had calmed down.
Normally my skin is very dry and dehydrated and I have a lot of redness. This noticeably reduces the redness and does a great job of moisturizing. I have had no milia using this product (which I am prone to). I find it very calming to my normally reactive skin.
I love the pump dispenser - easy to control the amount and very hygienic. My only very slight complaint would be that is it hard to tell when you are about to run out. When it is gone it is completely gone and there is no squeezing out one last application.

I used this for about a week. It goes on very thickly and feels greasy, so I only used it as a nighttime moisturizer. After a week, I broke out in bumps all over my cheeks. This rarely happens to me so I was astonished. My skin is generally dry, almost never breaks out and I live in a colder climate. I guess this will be body lotion or hand cream until it's done. The packaging was great - I loved the pump.

This product is amazing for winter months. I work outside around the clock in any given weather, whether it be snow, rain, sun, freezing temperature or high wind. I discovered it after my skin became stressed, dehydrated, chapped and windburned. This moisturizer has a bandage-effect, meaning it acts as a barrier against the elements and to lock in skin's natural moisture. It is non-greasy (if used lightly). This product is very rich, so a little goes a long way. After using this product for 3 days, my skin was renewed and healed from the wind burn. Moisture lasts all day and leaves skin feeling plump, soft and and natural.
PROS: Does what it promises, acts as a barrier, moisturizes, heals, do not need much, suitable for sensitive skin,
CONS: Heavy, rich, bottle pump pumps out too much in one action, dries a bit slow,

I bought this for about 25$ cad, at Shoppers drug mart in the summer when I was using sulfur soap to try to treat my chin acne. It helps reduce the flaking but I do find it irritates my skin if I leave it on which is why I still have some left. I know use it only as a mask in the morning or at night if I need some moisture so I apply it kinda thick and leave it on for 20 minutes and rinse with water because I think the alcohol in it really bothers my face if I leave it on. If I knew it had alcohol in it I would have not bought it, so I will not repurchase. I noticed how this has shea butter in it, but I am going to try pure unrefined shea butter and hopefully that won't sting like this does.

I thought Id like it because of the good reviews but like one of the posters below this ended up giving me white bumps under the skin (especially under the eyes and jaw line) if I used it more than one day or two in a row. It does moisturize and take away the itch of winter skin but leaves a film. I'm kind of scared to finish it so it might end up as a very expensive hand cream

This moisturizer is absolutely amazing! I have chronically dry skin because of Retin A and my use of Vitamin C serums, and finding the right moisturizer has always been a challenge. I have literally tried everything on the market, from La Roche Posay, PCA Skin, NIA 24, Skinceuticals, SkinMedica, I could go on and on. Initially I was worried because this product contains Alcohol Denat and I have rosacea. Well not only does this not cause dryness or redness, but it repairs dryness and reduces redness significantly overnight! I love it and it is worth every penny. It is winter in Toronto and it gets cold and windy but with this little gem, I know I can continue to have good skin days even during the harsh weather. For hot and humid summers I think I will have to switch to the regular Aqualia Riche Cream rather than the balm, which is thicker.

I wanted to love this...but I l don't. :( I was looking for a nice, non-pore clogging night-time moisturizer, so I decided to try this based on the reviews.
While I did find it moisturizing, it was too greasy, and I got clogged pores from using this for a few consecutive nights. (always shows up as closed bumps on my forehead) Darn skin!
I won't be repurchasing.

I bought this in the winter when the cold Canadian weather was wreaking havoc on my already sensitive rosacea-ish skin. I tend to be dehydrated, but not dry. Actually I am prone to breakouts and get little blocked bumps if something is too rich. I loved this. It didn't break me out at all, immediately soothed my skin, re-hydrated and plumped it up, calmed it down, reduced redness, didn't irritate (it has no fragrance at all). The only negative thing about it, and why I gave it 4 instead of 5, is because it is greasy. For that reason I only use it at night. But other than that it's fantastic! Very impressed.

My skin has a lot of redness and dry on the cheeks and chin. This product did seem to reduce my redness immediately, however, I hated the texture. It's like lotion, but very sticky, hard to spead it evenly on my face. After I put it on, it leaves a oily sheen all over my face. Will not buy again.

after suffering from rosacea for the past few years - the itchy, dry, papular/pustular type that would sting if I put anything on it with a perfume or too many ingredients - and trying everything under the sun to try to help lessen the redness and bump up moisture (trips to the dermatologist, metrogel, tetralysal drugs, guinot hydradermies, jojoba oil, sulphur soaps, sulphur creams, seabuckthorn oil soap, avene products ...the list goes on...)
This cream has literally halved the redness in one night and dryness gone! My face isn't hot or itchy either :)
I have only used it for a few days as a night cream so will be able to update in a month or so to see if the results have been consistent.
It has a pump and is easy to control as you really don't need a lot of product as a little goes a long way. I thoroughly recommend this to anyone who has unhappy red, dry skin!

It was amazing for the first three days of use. I had been using Decleor's Rose Balm for 3+ winter months and to no avail, my flaky, senstitive skin was not reparing. This Vichy product repaired it literally overnight. However, I took out 1 lippie, because after 1 week + of use, it's begun to irritate my skin. So I guess I should not use it night and day. I'll cut back to 1-2 days a week, nightime only and see if that causes less irritation.

Ive been using Vichy for around 5 years, and this prdt is really good for dry and dehydrated skin.
I have sensitive skin and it used to be so dry and peeling in some areas and a sales rep recommended the Aqualia line.
Probably not good for those who have oily/ or oil/combination skin though.

Like everyone else says, this stuff is GREAT! I have been having some late nights, too much coffee, not enough fresh veg and cold weather. My skin was RED, dehydrated and just looked a mess. I bought this on a whim - with 5 dollar coupon attached and some free-bies, and tried it out and I LOVE IT. I agree with the other reviews too - I'm not sure how to explain the "bandage effect", only that I FEEL on my skin like I have a moisturizing mask on, but when I touch it, nothing is slick....I'm not sure if this makes sense. I love the packaging - pumps are SO less messy and SO much more hygenic. I agree with others, I would only use this at night - or like today a Saturday afternoon at home. But this will be a staple for me from now on.

a little goes a long way with this product! i use this as a night cream because i find it to be too rich during the day. only a pea sized tiny pump gives me enough to cover my entire face. it does leave it kinda shiny and takes a while to fully absorb into my skin, but since i only wear it at night it doesn't really bother me too much.
when i wash my face the next morning, i can feel a filmy layer of it still on my face which i'm guessing is what the "bandage effect" is

What I like most about this product is the way it immediately decreases redness. I put it on itchy, red, and irritated skin, and within five minutes my skin is already feeling better. My one gripe with the product is the absorption. Some days, I can get it applied so that it absorbs within several minutes, but most days it doesn't sink in for quite a while, leaving me with a shiny sheen. I rub that in and then I feel completely moisturized. Not a big gripe, since it's a really good moisturizer, but be sure to rub in completely (and gently!) before completing your routine! I only use this at night.

i really love this product. it seems to magically calm my skin. i get a lot of redness in my cheeks and i thought this was just the way i was, but this is the first thing that's really made a difference. i put this on at night and after the very first night i woke up the next day and so much of my redness was gone! i use it every night now, and sometimes in the morning if my skins feeling sensitive.
the packaging says it has a "bandage" effect, and i couldn't get my head around this concept until i used it. it's hard to describe, but it's just very comforting. it absorbs very well, although if i use a lot at night i can still feel it when i rinse my face in the morning - but not in an oily way, if that makes any sense.
i give it a 4 only because i wish it had some more anti-aging properties/nutrients, but i can see why this might not be desirable since the product is so gentle and calming i feel like it would suit anyone.
even if you don't need this every day i feel like it's a good thing to have around in case you ever get a reaction to something else. in the past year or two my skin has started reacting to certain cleansers (usually just getting really red) and this has pretty much an immediate effect. dunno how they do it, but it's great.
UPDATE (october 2011): I've repurchased this since, and I still use it sometimes, but not the way I used to. I usually use it more like a masque than a moisturiser or just sometimes dab it on irritated skin at night. My skin has become less red generally than it was when I tried this first (I was using a routine that was too harsh for my skin I think), and has become way more oil prone. A Vichy rep rightly diagnosed me with dehydrated combination skin when I tried to buy this last and suggested Vichy thermal serum instead (she said this product was definitely not for someone like me...). Anyway, I didn't like the serum, but I still like this occasionally. Taking evening primrose, vitamin E and cod liver oil supplements cured my chronic dehydrated skin I think, just FYI if anyone else is having that problem (skin feels dry and tight, but has open pores/blackheads).

This paraben-free, fragrance-free, colorant-free, hypoalergenic mineral balm is one of my favourite products of all time and my most reliable weapon against redness and irritation.
I own lots of Vichy Aqualia products and I really like them. In those products, Vichy's Thermal Water is combined with Hyaluronate.
This product was the last one I bought, on the recommendation of a pharmacist. The dryness of my skin was gone after using Vichy's Aqualia Hydrating Concentrate along with one of their Aqualia creams, but I was still complaining about some redness and irritation once in a while. My skin is quite sensitive and vulnerable, probably because of the combination of living in a large city (pollution), working in a hospital (air conditioning, not drinking enough) and my tendency to allergies. The pharmacist told me to try the balm. I was sceptical at first, because even though my skin is mostly dry I'm always a bit cautious with rich creams and was told to use it either as a mask when irritation/redness occurs, or as a night cream whenever I feel I need it.
Well, it turned out my wariness was completely unnecessary. My skin LOVES this balm. It's become my favourite night cream. Whenever I see red blotches/irritation or feel tightness, I'll use it and it never fails me - the results are always excellent - I wake up with much calmer skin that's also well moisturized. The redness is gone in the morning and even though by now I know what to expect of this balm, I'm constantly amazed.
The packaging is great, it is a dispenser (50ml or 1.7 fl oz), and I need less than one pump for a normal use. One thing you could complain about is that you don't see how much is still left inside, but let me tell you - it goes a loooong way. I've had it for a year now and there's still some left. I think that this is the perfect cream for everyone with dehydrated, sensitive skin prone to redness, especially during winter time.
If I had to give up all Vichy products and choose just one, that's the one I'd go for.
