I have mild rosacea and combination skin. I've been stuck in a skincare rut lately and my skin just looks "blah". I've had dry red patches on my cheeks and the medication I use for the rosacea dries my face out. I had a makeup application at the Chanel counter about a week ago and the MA used this on me. Wow! My skin feels great and it seems less red after only a weeks use. I'll keep my fingers crossed but so far I'm in love! Btw. The key is to use a small amount of this PRIOR to using your regular moisturizer. Not Instead of.

At first, great: skin looked brighter and refreshed. Soon after, though, disaster struck: congested pores a go-go!
So big thumbs down.

This is a beautiful serum, the fragrance is amazing and the formula is super lightweight. The packaging is very innovative and practical and I wish every face cream came in the airtight vaccuum pump like this one does so you don't get any bacteria in the cream from dipping your fingers in it, plus you know you'll get every last drop of the product, which is important with the hefty price tag. The only downside of this product (in my opinion) is the 12% alcohol in it. This can be a good thing in the summer for those with oilier skin types because it will combat that as well as lightly exfoliate, however, in these dry winter months I would probably use it under a moisturizer in the day time or by itself in the summer time. I tend to get dry patches of skin around my lip area and I tried using this to give it an instant moisture boost but then I clued in that the high alcohol content would prevent the moisture from doing its job on really parched areas. Therefore, I would recommend this in the summer time for normal/combination/oily skin types (dry skin would probably need something with no alcohol) but from an economical point of view, you're better off finding a cheaper cream that does its job without all the fuss, as there are many out there!

I can't really rate this product effectively because I was only able to use it twice. The second time I applied it before bed I had a reaction to it.
I DON'T have sensitive skin. I have never had an allergic reaction to any skin care product---ever.
My eyes were almost swollen shut the next morning and my face was shiny as if I had been burned. Deep red and blotchy.
Make sure you sample this first before putting this all over your face. I was absolutely astounded that I had a reaction to a skin care product.

So I slapped on a thick layer of Chanel Hydramax + Serum before bed to see the benefits when I woke up this morning. My skin feels smooth and plump, but throughout the night it felt really sticky and greasy! Yuck!

This product is great. It has very nice, light texture and smells wonderful. My skin just drinks it. Though it's really expensive I may repurchase it.

THIS IS MY HG. Forever, I hope. I attribute this to the clearing of my acne-ladden skin since the age of 13. Depending on how I feel, I will use either one or two pumps. It's like giving my face a cool glass of water. It penetrates more deeply than any other moisturizer that I have ever used and is light enough that my oily skin is never aggrivated. I purchased the largest size at 1.7oz which is VERY, VERY expensive at $115. But so far I have been using it for over a month and I still have over half of the pump left, so... I think it's still a great investment. My face feels supple and soft, refreshed and perfectly moisturized for the winter and also the summer.
EDIT: I STILL LOVE THIS. Oh my goodness gracious. I have never fallen in love with a cosmetics product like this. It still moisturizes perfectly for my oily/combination skin and it has not broken me out at all. I have absolutely no idea what on earth I will do if they ever discontinue this product.

I got a sample of this product, used so far about 3 times and what my first experience was that it immediately(!) erased my dehydration lines and my skin felt like I was splashed with a waterbomb. It has a very nice texture, creamy and has a bit cooling effect. I can't speak of the long-term effects since I used only a few times. All in all, if your skin is thirsty it's definitely a good solution.

This is the latest version of the Hydramax range.I have been using for the last 2 months as i was going thru a fase of intense dehydration and nothing would help.I tried quite a few moisture serums, Aquaserum by Guerlain, Hydraction by Dior, Hydraglobal by Sisley...they all left my skin feeling parched but at the same time looking like an oil slick. A very kind SA gave me a sample to try and i have to say i love it.I started needing 2 pumps for my entire face and throat and have gradually moved to 1.It keeps my skin completely quenched and i don't get any more that tight feeling, plus it has normalized my sebum so i don't look like an oil slick.
I like that it is water based, refreshing and that it feels that i'm giving my skin a glass of water everytime i use it.I think it can work for most skin types, except maybe sensitive skin as it is scented. And even though it has the Chanel name over it, it actually delivers, not like other brands (i'm looking at you Dior).
I have yet to be disappointed in a Chanel product. It seems to me that they actually put some research in the products they launch and not just a pretty label.
