I have three of these lipsticks, Smooth Mauve, Soft Red and Red Door Red. All three are really pretty colours.
On the first application of EA lipsticks, they feel quite dry and plasticy and takes time to deposit colour on ur lips. But after that, they become smoother and easier to apply. I always apply lip balm before lipstick, no matter which brand, so I find that these don't dry out my lips too much. Also, I find that the colour seems to cling to my lips and hence lasts a decent amount of time.
Smooth Mauve - its a very nice mauve shot through with gold frost. Looks beautiful on my pigmented lips.
Soft Red - this colour reminds me of the sky at sunset, a beautiful golden pink. I had thought it might not look good on my pigmented lips and tan skin but it gives a nice, natural colour with a bit of sheen.
Red Door Red - a creamy, true red which is not too pigmented. It gives denser colour when I apply it with a lip brush instead of directly from the tube.
Overall, these are nice lipsticks, good value for money and I would buy more colours. However, one lippie off for the annoyingly sweet, old-fashioned fragrance.

I got three shades of this lipstick in a gift set: Soft Rose, Desert Rose, and Lush Red. The lightest of the colours, Soft Rose, is way too light for my lips, so I will give it to a relative who likes pastels. Desert Rose is a pretty, soft, classic rose shade. And Lush Red is is a dark red with a bit of brown. All three shades are soft and creamy, and the finish is almost matte-just a hint of shine. The lipsticks have an "old lady" fragrance to them, but that doesn't bother me. Overall, I like the consistency and the high quality of the pigmentation and packaging. I doubt I would pay full price for them, but I am enjoying two of the three lipsticks.

EA's Leopard Chic Beauty Box featured three Exceptional Lipsticks: Honey Blush, Beauty, and Starlight. All 3 shades are lovely, but my favorite is Honey Blush. It is a reddish/coral/brownish shade that looks beautiful by itself, and even better under/over lip pencils and glosses (I love it with Sephora's Blue Waters gloss). It is long wearing and quite moisturizing. I'm not a lipstick fan, but I can forget I'm wearing this. I would repurchase, happily.

My first EA purchase, I was looking for a color to perfectly match the bright pink Shellac nail color I was wearing, and Pink Vibrations was the perfect one! Turned out to be everything I wanted, bright, matte, full coverage, long lasting & satiny. Great staying power...doesn't kiss off on my bf's lips! UD lip primer underneath makes a great base, with EA's 05 Blush lip liner and then the lipstick...perfect with that bright pink Shellac nail color if you crave a bright pink mani that just stands out. Awesome with my brown hair & eyes.

I have this in Desert Rose and while i absolutely love the colour and texture i feel like it really drys my lips out and works best if u use a clear lip butter under it first. I do really like it though, just wish it wasn't so drying!

this is my HG department store lipstick, there is nothing about this lipstick i don't love,. okay so the elizabeth arden exceptional lipstick colors go great with the smokey eyes powder pencil eyeliner. This is one of the very first lipsticks i've tried that was high end and i don't think i will ever use much else. The texture is very creamy, somewhat moist, doesn't streak or fade into lines around the mouth. Colors are sensational. packaging is simple and elegant. The colors I use are #38 (beauty) and #24 (autumn), the autumn color looks best with black eyeliner, so i wear a lot of #38. I'm also interested in trying Wild winterberry and goldmine (and maybe lush red if i'm feeling ambitious)
one of the best lipsticks around!
UPDATE: I have tried #56 (wild winterberry) and it is a great shade. It looks best with green eyeliner. Havent yet bought gold mine or lush red.

I got in shade #soft rose. However, it is far from my recognition of rose and it is not a flattery color at all. The color looks a little old fashioned color to me with shimmer. (orange, brown, nothing bright or pinkish)The exceptional lipstick does go on smooth on the lips maybe I will try other shades if I have a chance

A lot of people think that Elizabeth Arden is an old lady product line, but all of their products I've tried are the shizz. I have this in the shade 'Red Diamond' which is a berry based red with gold shimmer. If you apply it with a lip brush and build it up, its a gorgeous true red. However, you can apply a little bit, blend it out, and it becomes a beautiful light berry shade that's super flattering. It's long wearing and moisturising too. Don't be held back by the 'old lady' image, Elizabeth Arden has some fab products.

This lipstick goes on smooth and keeps my lips moisturised. It is quite creamy, yet forgiving unlike some creamy lipsticks and one coat is truly enough. I find that a heavy hand is not required. There's a wet look to this lippie, that's probably why it's so user-friendly and the creaminess enhances its appeal.
I'm using Coraline, the colour is just gorgeous and brightens my face immensely! It is a pink-peach colour with gold-orange undertones, it complements my skin tone and it carries me easily from work to a day out shopping.
Compared to Clinique's lipsticks (the current other brand I have been using), EA's lippie retains its moisturising properties whereas the Clinique one tends to try out (after a few hours though so I'd still consider it having done its job) and leave my lips looking like I'm 100 years old, with that nasty dry feathered look. With EA, less reapplication is required to keep the fresh lip look.
As for the food test, well no lippie I've tried to date withstands the food test, then again I'm not exactly a nibbles kind of girl, I like my lunches. But I do love reapplying the EA lippie, watching the gorgeous colour glide on my lips and making me pretty again!

I have this lipstick in Baroque Red. It is a gorgeous, sophisticated deep red. I am a very pale skinned, blue eyed brunette, and this is the lipstick I reach for when I want that wonderful Snow White look. The texture is smooth. This lipstick doesn't dry out my lips, and it has only the very slightest scent (I suspect that the people who commented negatively on those two points may have bought old stock). Yes, I'd buy it again.

I found this lipstick in a liquidation bin; they were 6$ instead of 24$ so I one in Desired and ran thinking I found something special. I tried the lipstick when I got back home and it has a really funky smell and a little bit got into my mouth....so gross. I do not know who would dish out 24$ on this lipstick! The texture is waxy and drying. The packaging is very old lady... overall would not recommend even for 6$...

The colour is the best thing about this product (Goldmine, very attractive, warm bronze-auburn). It's not as drying as some lipsticks I've tried, Not crazy about the scent but I can live with it.

I get a number of makeup products free from a relative in the business, and I got this lipstick in a gift set in "Blossom". I'm normally partial to MAC lip products but this lipstick is smooth, pretty much scent free, and the color is good for medium to tan Asian skin. It's kind of a light cherry on me.

this is the first lipstick that i fall in love with. It is soo easy to put on my lips(very smooth). After put it on 30 seconds, you can totally forget you have lipstick on. you can put lip balm on top of it without fading the lip color. I have extramly dry lips. When i don't wear any makeup, i need lip balm several times a day. Therefore, my lip become very very dry at the end of the day if i only use lipstick. luckly, i found Arden's lipstick. Because its color really stays on my lips, i can use lip balm on top of it.
At the end of the day, i just need to use baby wiper to take it off.
I love the product!!!!! it does not darken my natural lip color either.

I truly love this lipstick. I have very pale skin and almost white blond hair so lipstick that isn't jarring on my face is difficult to find. This lipstick stays on for hours and there is no flakiness or the like afterwards. I have "breathless" and it surprisingly suits me very well-and lasts a very long time.
I also like that its not super shiny or glossy so it doesn't look like you are a wannabe JLO. And it keeps it from wiping off easily.
If you have dry lips I would recommend putting on lip balm beforehand.

I have Breathless, a nice neutral on my med/warm skin tone This is my first EA l/s. The formula is very silky , I use it with a lip pencil, I use EL spice l/p. It has a slight scent that can be strong for some. The color is great.

I got this in the colour "Autumn 25" as a GWP and I am madly in love with it, which IS pretty exceptional for a gwp. For reference, I have fair, NC 20 skin with yellow undertone, dark hair and khacki green eyes and when I wear this with peach blush and smokey brown eyes, it's a wonderful warm look. The colour Autumn is aptly named, as the shade is warm and earthy and resembles that of an overipened tomatoe. There is no shimmer, no gloss, though it does have a dewiness to it, so it's not chalky looking. It's the kind of healthy, muted red that we see on TV all the time, think "wow that looks perfect!", but don't see enough of in real life. I do wish it had a tad more shine, but I have a scar on my lip that shine tends to disguise. Scarless types may not mind a more matted mouth!
As for the formulation, it's rich and stays put for a long time. It's not going to last through thanksgiving weekend or anything, but it should hold up through friday night date night! IT feels luxurious on, but all lipsticks do once you get used to wearing glosses. I'm 33, and don't have fine lines around my mouth, so I cannot comment on feathering. I don't usually line my lips, though sometimes with this I will use a nude pencil (it's the only one I have). This shade would make a fantastic gloss!
From this experience, I am impressed with Exceptional Lipstick and should I get bored with glosses and head back to the other side, I surely will buy more. Autumn is such a great find -- I hope it wasn't one of those LE only nightmares! It feels good on the lips, doesn't offend the senses and I adore my local EA SA!

I just bought this lipstick and can't decide if i like it or not. The texture is great and there is just a little bit of shimmer. I have Breathless, 17, and I am pale with brownish hair and green eyes. In the evening light, it looks a bit orange, I am waiting to see tomorrow AM in daylight. If you can match the color, it is a great lipstick, my problem is with my color choice, Ulta does not have the best lighting...

Oh yes, my favorite time of year is approaching, Fall. All the stunning colors of nature at their finest, the gold, amber, orange and red leaves. The excitement of Thanksgiving, Halloween and then of course Christmas, which is jumping ahead to a whole other season ! Autumn, that is the color of this wonderful lipstick, just that one perfect word, Autumn. It brings back memories of candy apples, pumpkin seeds, pumpkin carving, trick or treating and turkey slowly roasting on Thanksgiving morning. It's like Elizabeth Arden has managed to take all these memories and put them in a tube of lipstick, just for me. The color is the most gorgeous deep bronze/brown neutral, just like the color of a perfect fall leaf. It applies like cream and lasts for hours with no touch ups. It looks wonderful with my pale complexion and blue eyes. I look forward to wearing this lipstick with my fall wardrobe on those lovely crisp cool days. For me this lipstick is more than just that, a lipstick, it defines me and my favorite time of year.
