I don't understand bourjois, I give you so many chances to finally show me something great and you always disappoint, I think it is time for me to give up and never look back. You are overrated!
This mascara isn't any better than the cheapest mascara you can find. It darkens your lashes and makes them thicker and longer but isn't really impressive at all, certainly not worth the price. It does NOT curl your lashes, I even use eyelash curlers and this mascara doesn't even hold that curl...my lashes go back to straight immediately after I apply. They don't look much thicker, longer or darker either. It's just a boring old black paste in a really cute bottle. Also, am I really supposed to believe a curled wand is supposed to help my lashes stay curled? I never understood that about curl mascaras.

Bought this by mistake usually use volume glamour. This had a curved wand. The formula seems to be the same but i didn't find the curved wand did anything different from the normal wand, plus the wand broke after a weeks use- this has never happened to me in the 17 years of applying mascara. I'll be going back for the plain volume gamour- if you want curls buy an eyelash curler it will be much more effective.

I LOVE THIS MASCARA. it gives me volume, definition, curl and length without clumping or flaking. only downside is the price but apart from that, i definitely recommend this!

Like the regular Bourjois Volume Glamour, this is a really good, natural, everyday mascara. It provides discernable although natural levels of volume and length, and provides particularly good definition. It doesn't clump, smudge or flake and even though it isn't waterproof, it's not prone to smudging even when I was wearing it in summer. It doesn't uncurl my just-curled lashes, but neither does it add to the curl either. It's simply a matter of preference, but I think I prefer the regular Volume Glamour with the straight wand over this although I would have no issues repurchasing this again.

* PRODUCT CLAIMS - Intense volume & dramatic curl. Curls & doubles eyelash volume for an even more glamorous look.
* REVIEW - I was in the market for mascara for my stick straight downward pointing lashes. I haven’t had much luck with mascaras that hold a curl and to be a winner for me, mascara must hold a curl. I’m so pleased that this one does and does so much more!
* PLUSES:
+ This mascara holds a curl - an absolute must in my book!
+ It applies cleanly, the brush is well bristled
+ It wears well and removes easily
+ Enhances my sparse, stick straight lashes by lengthening and separating each and every one
+ Does not smudge, smear or flake
+ Does not clump, even after multiple coats
+ It does give a natural looking volume though not as voluminous as you would get with false eyelashes
+ Slightly curved brush, thereby separating and defining every lash
+ Applicator is actually lighter than expected which is nice because I don’t like heavy or unwieldy mascara applicators!
+ Tube does not get goopy or become unwieldy with product over-clumping on the applicator even after a month of usage
+ Pretty rubberized black and metal hot pink tube
+ Affordably priced!
* MINUSES:
- Not waterproof (not that I know of but I haven’t gone swimming or taken a shower wearing this mascara to test this feature specifically)
- This formula would probably not be enough if you want super extraordinary voluminous lashes
* PRICE - About €12 at all drugstores
* TIP - Always curl your lashes before applying mascara. Start at the base of your lashes and hold for a few seconds. Slowly "walk" the curler out of the lashes in segments: at the base, in the middle and finally, at the very tip of the lash to achieve that natural curl.
* VERDICT - I am quite pleased with this mascara as it ticks off all the requirements I need in a mascara and it's reasonably priced as well. Recommended!

I am having a really hard time finding the right mascara, because I don't buy products that have been tested on animals. This mascara is ok, like other people have said you have to build a lot of layers in order to get a big effect, but it is possible and can look great. However, it smudges after long wear, which is the bane of my mascara buying experience. I would buy it again, only because everything else I've tried lately has been worse. I would have actually liked to give it a 3.5 but I'm not allowed.....

I absolutely love this mascara. I’ve tried almost all high-end expensive mascaras but wasn’t really happy with any of them always buying something new and looking for better product. My eyelashes are of medium length and fullness but I have small eyes and hate eye shadows so I make them look bigger and stand out only with some eye liner and mascara. For this I need perfect mascara.
Initially I bought this mascara cause I fell in love with its girly but stylish black and pink packaging. I didn’t use any drug store mascaras since I was 15 but Bourjois didn’t disappoint me. It gives me all what my favorite mascaras expensive did but for a fraction of a price! And what’s a point paying $45 dollars for high-end mascara if I can get the same effect for around $10! Even more I would say that it combines the qualities of several of my expensive mascaras in one!
- It gives me desired volume without leaving tons of products on my lashes.
- it is black but more like satiny black not the glossy black this makes eyelashes look more natural
- you do have to apply multiple layers to get the length and volume but even with a lot of layers you eyelashes won’t feel hard, brittle, powdery or cakey. They stay soft just like real eyelashes.
- This mascara almost never clumps even with multiple layers.
- It doesn’t give the super-length but I’m mostly looking for volume not length. And the length it gives is just perfect for me.
-it curls my lashes nicely.
- I think this mascara is perfect for people who are looking for a "Doll eyes" look but a more natural "dolls eyes" look. It won’t make you look vulgar or cheap (if you apply a decent amount) and is perfect for everyday use.
-easy to get off with simple cleansing products but at the same time the mascara doesn’t flake or smudge during the day.
- Cheap. So even if it doesn’t work for you I think it’s worth a try.
This might sound like a very optimistic review but I really love this product! Don’t know if it will work for you but I definitely found my dream mascara. I am so happy. And its cheap too!
Will be definitely buying this again!

at first I wasn't too impressed with this product, it doesn't really lengthen the lashes however it seemed like a decent product to use at work.
after using it for a 2 weeks now I have to say I really do like it! it doesn't smudge or clump like other more dramatic Mascaras do, it gives your eyes a nice almost naturally thick lashes look that lasts all day.
the packaging is also very trendy, I dislike the curved mascara brush but have learned to work with it.

Pros: non-irritating, buildable, curved brush doesn't create smudges on lid, doesn't make lashes crispy, doesn't gather on the ends of lashes, doesn't smudge, removes easily.
Cons: you need lots of coats to get volume and even then the result is unimpressive, doesn't lengthen.
My HG is L'Oreal Voluminous and I had that in my hand but decided to try this instead. I should have stuck with the Voluminous I think. I like lots of things about this mascara but it's just lacking in the results department. I tried really hard to work with it and put on a ton of coats but my lashes still look boring.
*ADD: I've been using this for about a week now and i'm really liking how it doesn't smudge or flake no matter what you do to it. i wore it all day at work then through an intense bootcamp workout, and into the shower. when i came out, i expected to have smears down and around my eyes but there wasn't a BIT anywhere but on my lashes which looked as black and glossy as when i put it on that morning. i waited for them to dry, curled my lashes again and got freaking GORGEOUS results. how is that possible? i'm so impressed I would now most definitely repurchase this mascara. also, now that i've had practice with it, i can achieve the volume results that i want by wiggling the wand at the base of my lashes and quickly flicking up to the ends. it takes 3 coats.

This is my HG mascara. I have been using it for many years. (I am sad that Sephora no longer carries Bourjois!) No matter how many other mascaras I try, I always go back to this one. I have never found one that I like nearly as much.
My pet peeve with other mascaras is when they make my eyelashes look like dry, hard, black-mud coated spider legs, clumpy and thick. This mascara NEVER clumps on the first coat and only sometimes on the second coat. Any clumps are easily smoothed out by a swipe of my finger, a swipe of a hard paper towel or napkin (tissues leave white dust behind), or a quick swipe from a lash comb.
******* IMPORTANT TIP: Wait for the 1st coat to half-dry before applying the 2nd coat. (If you apply the 2nd coat while the mascara is still too wet, applying the 2nd coat is pointless. If you wait too long and the first coat is too dry, then the results are clumpy and sticky.) I have found that the time it takes to apply each eye with 1 coat is enough time to half-dry. ********
It thickens and lengthens my lashes well, but it does not give as dramatic results as some other mascaras (like DiorShow). I like that it looks natural, which makes it ideal for daily use. However it never flakes, never irritates, never smudges, never leaves rings under my eyes, almost never clumps, and lasts all day, even through sweating and sleeping! I would say it is water-resistant and not waterproof, which is perfect! (I find waterproof mascaras too difficult to remove. Plus I hate that they require tugging at the delicate skin around my eyes to get it off, especially when you get black rings under your eyes from it!) I have very sensitive eyes and wear contacts, so non-flaking, non-irritation, and longevity is very important to me in a mascara. I also like that the finish of it looks a little satiny (slightly shiny, like real eyelashes), supple, soft, and moist, instead of fake, dry, hard, brittle, powdery, and cakey like with other mascaras.

I really like this mascara. It does seem to curl my very long lashes slightly. I don't use eyelash curlers when I'm using this mascara. I have bought it a few times but I like to try new mascaras so am currently using a Rimmel mascara after this ran out. My only gripe is that it seems to dry out quite quickly (I don't ever pump the wand in and out of the tube). I would have rated it higher if the tube lasted longer.

Pretty damn good I must say :) nice defined curled lashes . Not as much volume as I wouldve liked but did a great job with curl and definition. Also unlike with many other mascaras, you can reapply throughout the day as needed without being left with crispy clunmpy lashes.

I think this is a really nice mascara. I have tried a lot of different mascaras. From cheaper drugstore ones to the Chanel inimitable.
My lashes are very long. I have to use a good curling mascara, because when I don't wear mascara my lashes touch my glasses.
This mascara curls my lashes very well. There comes a beautiful subtle curl in it and I never use a lash curler. The curl stays in my lashes for a long time. But at the end of the day the curl has become less.
The mascara doesn't smugde.
The packaging is pretty. It doesn't look cheap or anything.
I wil definitly buy this mascara again, but only when it is in sale. But that is because it is often in sale here.

This mascara was waaay too thick. I don't think there is no stopper in the mascara so the product would just clump all over the wand and bristles. So I got to wipe off all the excess. It doesn't curl my lashes at all, just slightly lifts them. Packaging is cute but its so expensive (AUD$24) for a shit mascara. Will not purchase it again.

Firstly I have to say that my lashes are naturally quite long and slightly curly so although this worked well for me it may not be any good for girls with different kind of lashes.
I like this mascara as for me it does what it says it should - it makes my lashes nice and curled. I don't even bother with eyelash curlers before although if it was for a night out I might do to get extra effect. The brush is curled which makes it easier to apply. So far I've found Bourjois mascaras work well for me (whereas Max Factor do not) so if you've had success with their other mascaras you might want to give this a go because I think mascara success depends a lot on what works best for your eyelash type.

i ordered on ebay, which i highly recommend for Canadians. this line is hard to find here.
i like this product, but for different reasons than the ones that made me buy it. it is a great lengthening mascara. takes the product fully all the way to the very tips of lashes. very black. for volume, it is good but not knock-out. i would best describe the overall result as "doll eyes", fanned out and pretty but not caked with volume, and not super-precise definition either. hope this made sense :)
EDITED- wore this all day yesterday and it wore perfectly. added additional coats on top for my nighttime makeup and it didn't look spikey. friends commented on my eyelashes ("wow they look SOO LONG!"). bonus! also today my boyfriend commented on my eyelashes. special product :)

I had a similar experience to a previous reviewer - the first time I used this, I was underwhelmed. However, having come back to it, I've realised that it is quite good after a few layers (I'm talking 3 or 4) One or two coats just doesn't give much of a result. I apply it lightly for the first coat (to prevent having too much mascara on the lashes weighing them down) and after that, I can put as much as I want with very little clumping. It's very black and doesnt make my lashes feel crunchy and hard (like another bourjois mascara I've used) I would probably buy it again, but I quite enjoy trying different brands and types of mascaras.
