I really love the greasepaint sticks. They're everything that I had hoped the shadesticks would be. I put on my eye shadow primer (I prefer Too Faced Shadow Insurance for my oily lids), then I put on the grease paint stick, and use either a brush or my finger tip to even it out. Then I pat a shadow on top of it. I've done some amazing smoky looks with this purple. I own Black, V and B, and will be picking up any new colors that come out. The packaging is ok. If you're not careful taking the lid off you can accidentally take off some of the product. You can use an angled eyeliner brush if you want to use this as precise liner.

If I had the chance, wouldn't buy this again. The colour is pretty (a nice, deep purple with micro glitter) and the staying power is good, but I hate the smell and either the heavy fragrance or another ingredient irritates my eyes (I wear contacts).

I think the concept is great, but I dont care for the texture of these. I dont find that the spread around the lid very well, and they tend to crease up wicked bad.

They are great if you want a smudged, messy look, but if you want a nice clean smokey look use shadow or even a paint pot with a pigment.

great color and staying power. like another reviewer, i too did not turn the pencil fully into base and smooched the tip into lid...love the sharpener in the base for keeping a sharp point. my only complaint with this is the smell...it reminds me of crayola crayons every time i use it.

I am loving it. Didn't test it in the heat yet. Be careful closing it, make sure to roll the stick all the way down after using so it hides inside the plastic tube completely. Otherwise, pencil's lid will ruin the tip into big mess like mine did. There is a spongy thing inside the lid that pushes on the tip, for freshness I guess, so no room is left on top unlike in other liners. Consistency is relatively creamy and similar to Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in 11L (maybe a bit darker in color with tiny shimmers) but doesn't seem to irritate my eyes as MUFE does. I apply it with a tip of a stiff synthetic lip brush (MAC 316SE from a gift set) and smudge the edges right away, this way it comes out more smoky and less crumby. Staying power is amazing without a primer. Color is a very dark violet with a touch of ultra-fine silver/violet shimmer. I love such chubby pencils for eye lining, you get an instant smoky eye with a single line. It is very similar to MAC Shadesticks, Sue Devitt Eye Intensifier Pencils and my HG 100% Pure Creamstick Eye Liners, just thinner in application. As with MAC Shadesticks, make sure to close the lid tight with two clicks to prevent drying. I decided to keep mine in a plastic baggie because the bottom is not sealed and comes off as a sharpener, so you can see the stick itself from the bottom and drying out is potentially possible.
EDIT: After wearing this liner on two consecutive days, my upper and lower eyelids got itchy and bumpy on one eye and a bit irritated on the other. Not sure what else could have caused it but the liner does smell like Clorox bleach to me. Not a good smell for an eye product. I might give it another try after my eyes heal. I'm allergic to glycerin and glycerides and this product does have one glycerin-derived ingredient at the beginning of ingredients list (C18-36 Acid Triglyceride), so it might be the reason for my reaction. It also has another big irritant, Bismuth Oxychloride that may cause itching and acne for some people like myself.

I was starting to get confused as others described thier greasepaint as black, and I looked at mine and thought, no way this is deep purple. I love this and the color, it comes with its own sharpener and it glides on effortlessly and stays for ever.

Being a total sucker for anything purple, I was ALL over V when it launched on MAC's site .. and despite my best efforts to exercise willpower, I finally caved!

V is gorgeous .. it's like a deeper version of Rave pearlglide, and unlike any other liners or bases that MAC has. This is rich and sultry like Infamous paint, and at least this will be a suitable substitute for that. This glides on with ease, delivers rich color and wears well. This would make an awesome base for smokier purple eye looks, and works perfectly for me as a liner as well. Now I just need to get B and I'll be golden! Huge raves for V!!

This purple is amazing. The color is really pretty and it gives an amazing look to the eyes. I have been thinking of going and getting the blue one as well. These are thick, but the come with a shaperner on the bottom to keep the liner thinner if wanted that way.
This fall i have been all into purples and wearing this liner makes me happy :) Make sure to check this one out if you like purples :)
