I don't have Blood Red at all but I remeber trying it on and then feeling like an idiot after the stores stpped selling em! It was pretty and sheer but went to well with the MAC Beet lip pencil, which I love. Why oh why the heck didn't I buy the darn thing man?!
I prefer Blood Red even to Lustering which happens to be nice also.

I love the color of this lipstick. Looks just like the inside of a blood orange. I don't mind the lustre finish a lot of people tend to hate on. I am comfortable leaving it on without any gloss on top as it has a nice sheen and doesn't make my lips feel dry. It fades a little fast for my liking though, but I would buy again based on the color and finish.

this is a luscious berry/plummy color which looks fantastic on most complexions.
I used it a lot during the winter and will use it again during the coming fall..I did not buy a backup but maybe it will be repromoted!

I really love this color. Like everyone else says, it's definitely more of a pink than a red. It's a pretty, muted fuchsia or berry shade. I also have MAC's lipstick in Sweetie and the colors look very similar, only the finishes are different. I am Asian and NC30 and I think it looks great on my skin tone. I get compliments when I wear this color.

I really hope Mac re promotes this shade again the future. Its is the most beautiful berry color. Great for fall & winter. It is a luster, but its is highly pigmented. Red lipsticks don''t really look great on me but this berry color is gorgeous.

More like Blood PINK. When you hear Blood Red you really expect this to be a deep, dark red. NOPE.
It's more of a berry color, not quite so dark. It's a great color if you want to try a red, but are scared of really TRUE reds. It's just a lighter berry color that will look great on lighter toned skins for the winter months.

Love this color! it's a pretty berry reddy shade that is Perfection for fall and winter. I find that it also works nicely with a smokey eye for going out a night it gives a great seductive look :) Since it is a lustre it isn't the most long lasting formula but i do find that it lasts longer than some of my other lustres. Love it!!

I have quite a number of lipsticks and glosses in different shades and this color is just beauitul!!!! Its just a right berry color and perfect for my NC42 skin. I think this would also be perfect for all skin tones! Its a nice color for fall/winter. I tried this with my smokey eye look and wow it really adds just the right amount of color. I want to try this shade with lighter eye make up. I'm sure it'll be great! They only have a few more at the store and I'm really debating on going to get a back up. It would be the 1st time getting a back up for a lipstick/gloss so ladies this is really a beautiful color. Try it before its completely sold out!

I purchased Blood Red and Total Wow! and really you don't need both because they are very similar, except one is a glaze and one is a lustre. Blood Red is a beautiful berry/red color. It's a lighter shade of Rebel l/s imo. It looks great on my NC43 skin tone, and I believe it would look great on most skintones. I use Mahogany l/l with this as well.

Fantastic, modern color for fall/winter. I wear all black in my job and this will add a perfect punch of color. Blondes looking for a gorgeous lipcolor should have a peek at Blood Red before it's gone. HG!!!

I really like this lipstick, I was surprised by the name that it was'nt a red, but insted a lovely berry colour.
I tried this lipstick at my MAC counter because I wanted to try out blackware glimmerglass on top of a lipstick that was'nt black. she suggested this one, on it own it was soo beautiful, I was'nt expecting it to be so very nice looking stunning on my pale skin even when I was wearing very little make up, then with the blackware gloss on top! now that was somthing to rave about, it looks soo pretty, deepend with a bit of mystery about it.
all in all this is a very versitle lipstick, great with most looks and with a dark gloss on top.
My only complaint, is with the formula, I'm a big big fan of matte and amplified lipsticks, and this is a lusture which just does'nt have the same staying power as my normal favorite formula, but will most likely just take some getting used too.
I'm concidering buying a back up of this lipstick, first time I've thought I neeed one!

It's quite reddish purple. Berry colour. To me it's the warmer shade of Sweet Thing from the SugarSweet collection without all the rainbow glitter. Quite nice, but nothing for me to go all gah gah over with.

When I first heard about this color coming out I knew I had to buy it. I love the name Blood Red. I was hoping it would be a true blood red color lipstick in time for Halloween. Then, I read a review and found out the color was not red at all, but a berry shade. I still had to have it. I am a MAC lipstick-a-holic. When I received it in the mail, I fell in love with the shade. It's a perfect clean berry. Not too dark and not too light. I believe it will please all skin tones. You cannot go wrong with this shade!

This is definitely a color not for the weak. The color doesn't sound how you'd think the name implies. The color is described as a "clean deep berry"; however, in my mind, it seems more like a berry orchid fuschia. This is a lustre, which is my favorite of the MAC lipstick formulas. I realize though that lustres are best for lighter colored lipsticks because I feel like lustres are slippery and don't last long. I find myself having to reapply after eating or drinking. The only reason I got it was to pair it with Dazzleglass Creme in Creme Allure, which is basically a perfect match. It's a nice color, however I wish it were in a longer lasting formula like Amplified Creme or Cremesheen.
