This is alright. It is a nice change from Maybelline's crappy inventions. It's not clumpy is what I mean. Well, not as much. Once when I was putting this on a blob took hold on the part just below the top lashes. That didn't end well. I was pushed for time so I just decided to let it flood my eye instead of removing it with a tissue and having to do my mascara all over again. But that aside, the lashes look nice with this on. Only problem is the deadly black specks. It crumbles, which is not good. I have to avoid touching my eyelashes other wise the formula is so easily removed. I never wear it on my 12 hour days when I have college then work. By work time at 4.30pm, I would probably not have any left. Needless to say, it is nice not having to scrub at your eyelashes just to remove it.

Further fueling my need to try every mascara ever made in the history of man (or woman), I had to try this one as well. HELLO LONG LASHES!! HELLO CURL!! I didn't have very high expectations of it at all, but it's fantastic. My lashes look super long and thick...borderline false. I can kind of "see" them when I blink, if you know what I mean. I found a great surprise in this pink box. Super super super. And I'm not KIDD-ing ; )
EDIT 9/10/12: This turned into garbage. Got really clumpy and messy. Knocking down to 2 stars. Started out SO promising but...the search continues...

This mascara is just alright, really nothing special. It made my lashes stiff, but the mascara didn't flake...so I guess that counts as good & bad, depending on how you look at it. The formula is very wet & does take a while to dry, longer than I'd like...but then again, most things don't happen the way we'd like. It didn't really add length, but it volumized fairly well & was pretty buildable for the most part. I didn't like that this mascara made my lashes stick together. I liked the brush & I found it to be very effective. This does smell really bad, like chemicals. The color was great, but then again, I've never really had a problem with mascaras not being black enough. I love the bottle it comes in, very classy. But, it should come with more mascara than what was actually in there....especially for the price. The bottle also dried out pretty fast. I bought this at Target & I can't remember how much I paid, but it was expensive. Overall, I've used better mascaras for cheaper, so I probably won't buy this again. It definitely wasn't the worst mascara I've ever used, but not the best either.

If your a gal who always uses an eyelash curler as I do this would work. As some reviewers have noted it is quiet a wet mascara unlike most other mascaras and, it does not give the lashes much of a curl. It also does take a while to dry but overall I love this mascara because it is a very black mascara and imy lashes curl magnificent when using the eyelash curler afterwards.

Having an intense love/hate relationship with this mascara. I *love* the results, and *hate* the process.
It's surprising to see other reviewers comment this isn't a wet formula, and I wonder what's different between their product and mine?
This is some of the wettest mascara I've ever used! I have to blot the wand nearly completely dry before using. Even then, it goes on heavy and wet, requiring some careful blotting on the lashes to prevent clumping and smearing. After the careful blotting process, my lashes need to be combed thoroughly to eliminate the resulting spider-legs effect. (I'm fairly picky about my lashes, and lazy, too. My dream is an effective mascara that can do everything with one swipe of the wand. A girl's gotta have dreams, right?)
Finally, after this rather bothersome prep-work, my lashes look incredible!
This mascara is a deeeeep glossy black, delivering length and volume to the max. Oddly enough, on my long lashes, this mascara actually provides curl.
I want lashes that are dramatic, full, and provide a beautiful fringed frame for my eyes, and JK mascara delivers on all that. It's just getting there that's bothersome.

this is the JK brand sold at Target. i actually purchased this on a whim ($17) because i FINALLY used up the last two mascaras i was working on finishing.... so this i purchased to use everyday. and it's really more of an impact mascara than everyday (but i bought it, i'm using it)... this may be one of the BLACKEST mascaras (besides diorshow blackout) that i've ever used. it's a thick formula... i didn't find it very wet, and i only needed ONE coat. it definitely held a curl... it is a very black and glossy finish, it did more thickening of my lashes than lengthening (but i have longish lashes to begin with so that's fine for me). it hasnt really budged... much less flaked. looked really good on my bottom lashes because it didn't make them all spidery looking... as mentioned..... it DOES smell.... bad. but it's not like i'm strapping it around my neck open, so i'm not that bothered by it. i would definitely recommend this... BUT for $17 you should be sure you want a thickening, dark, dense mascara. it's not for the faint of heart.
UPDATE: this really dries out your lashes... i felt like they were brittle after using more than one or two days in a row. i like the physician's formula organic jumbo lash i just got (for 1/2 the price) better.
update: i find it to be a very STIFF lash... if you're going w/more than one coat. but i'm still using it, pretty much daily. it's still the best mascara for my bottom lashes i've ever encountered.

-No clumping or smudging
-Lash comb is great for separating lashes
-Smells like chemicals, could make you pass out if you smell it for too long
-Doesn't really volumize much
Overall, it's a decent mascara, and I like using it while I have it, but will not buy again.

Good to hear that there are people that love this mascara! But I didn't. I got this at a discount price (thank god!!).
It didn't even made the slightest curl in my lashes, they just stayed straight forward (and I have a little curl from myself in my lashes, so if a mascara makes my lashes straight it's double bad!!). Next to that the mascara is to wet for me! It takes so long to dry and it smudged everywhere! It even got so bad that I had to use a cottonswab to remove everything but with the smudging I also remover my concealer and my eyeshadow and that's a no-go! I would love to love this mascara, but I can truly say it's the worst I have ever tried (and I have tried a lot of mascara's!!!)
It reminds me of the pink and green maybelline mascara that so much people love but didn't do any good for me. So, for people who love the pink/green maybelline mascara, I guess you will love this mascara too!

(I did this review on 9/19/2009 under UnListed since I didn't see the Jemma Kidd category)
I went to Target to purchase Elnett hair spray and never knew they had so many makeup lines.
Jemma Kidd's lash tint mascara was on my wish list, and I had no idea JK is her other line. I picked up the Ultra Plush Volumizing mascara in stage black because I couldn't find the tint.
* Wow, this stuff smells like motor oil. I almost threw it out.
* Can be difficult to remove.
* It DOES build thick, super black, glossy lashes.
* Held my curl all day.
* no flaking or smudging.
I am really impressed with this product. I always have several mascaras open at the same time. Currently, Estee Lauder's TurboLash, Smashbox's Lash DNA, DiorShow, Imju Fiberwig, Too Faced Lash Injection,
I thought this performed better than almost everything I've tried.

SMUDGE on me! I have to wipe my under racoon eyes once every half hour until there's nothing left.
That would have totally turned me off. But the result at first is fantastic. Volumize and Lengther better than ANY mascara I have tried. I was IMPRESSED. But come on! why smudge on me???

Got this in the mini mascara/eyeliner pack Target offered during the holidays. Color is among the blackest I've seen, doesn't clump, doesn't dry out my lashes, lengthens, holds a nice curl, and best of all doesn't smudge! The only thing I don't like is that it's somewhat difficult to remove and it doesn't work if I want to go for a more natural look as it goes on pretty bold.

I got this in the holiday package that had the eyeliner as well. I really LOVE this product. It did not smear. Held up my curl in a very natural manner. My only complaint (at least for the mini version) is that the stopper causes the product to ooze out as I'm putting the wand in so I ended up wasting some mascara when closing the product =(
Other than that, I love it. I would consider purchasing the full size but right now I have a TON of mascaras I'm working on finishing up!

I've been on a massive research mission to find the worlds best (drugstore) mascara. I have been contemplating purchase one of the popular Maybelline lines like XXL or Collosal Vol or the infamous CG Lash Blast but I actually picked up this Jemma Kidd mascara on a whim at Target. It was only the small trial size version packaged with the liquid eyeliner (i believe it was a holiday item) on clearance for $2.50! I absolutely love it and now am considering buying the full size ($15). Normally, this would be out of my price range because I'm not a mascara everyday girl. But I love that this product gives me great length, volume, does not clump or create spidy legs. I didn't notice any flaking. It lasted all day but was not super crunchy on my lashes. I'm not sure if this a waterproof product but it didn't not run or create issues with my contact lenses. Love love love!

Love it! It gives you pretty, thick, long eyelashes, ...stays on thru showering and tears! No flakes no clumps! What more can u ask for??? Like it as well as my Mac mascara but is easier to just pick up when I run to Target! Cute packaging too!
