I give the cologne spray Honeysuckle by Demeter 4 stars even though it has horrible staying power because it actually reminds me of Michelia Alba (magnolia) flower petals that my mom used to buy off the streets in Hong Kong. She'd place some in her purse and the wonderful scent would linger for days.

But at any rate, I can't compare the fragrance to the actual honeysuckle flower because I've never smelled it. Though I would never hesitate to purchase the spray again for myself, I don't know if I'd recommend it to anyone else unless they're obsessed with the smell as I am! I have the massage oil and perfume oil coming in a few days. If those have better staying power, I'll update this review.

I love the scent--probably the most authentic honeysuckle scent I've encountered. However, like so many others, this fragrance just does not last. I'm typically a person who likes more subtle fragrances and doesn't have a problem with scents fading away--I actually like scents that fade away a bit. However, this one truly disappears to NOTHING in about 30 minutes, top. It's actually rather astounding how it disappears. I really like the scent, but likely won't purchase again due to the lack of staying power--it's just not worth the $$$.

Smells just like honeysuckles, just pure honeysuckle. I love the scent. However, it lasts a mere few minutes after application. I cannot really use this as a perfume. However, I do love just smelling it as a freshener or spray for the home. For that, I would repurchase.

When I tried out this fragrance, I really liked the scent- while not as delicate as a real honeysuckle, it was very pleasant. It reminds me a little of jasmine (one of my favorite smells). But, on the downside (and a pretty large one at that), it does not last HALF as long as one would expect, and only slightly longer than a body splash. It's a nice freshener, maybe one you would keep in your purse just in case. However, it is definitely not an every day perfume unless you'd like to reapply it over and over.

I'm usually pretty lenient when it comes to perfumes because things smell different on different people but this was AWFUL. It had no throw, gave me a headache and faded within an hour.

This is the most true-to-life honeysuckle scent I've ever smelled...nothing like that Bath and Body Works crap I got a couple of years ago. The only downfall is that it last less than 5 minutes...truly....but that doesn't bother me, it's such a bargain and it really does take me straight back to my childhood. Will repurchase as long as this is available. ( :

I was excited to get this perfume as I love the smell of Honeysuckles. I read a lot of reviews, most seemed positive & purchased it unsniffed - I like a gamble!

When I got it I sprayed it straight away & was immediately assaulted by a synthetic baby powder scent. ******** KAPOW! ********

It was so strong & smelt nothing like Honeysuckle. I waited it out & luckily it turned into a nice powdery scent that lasted surprisingly well despite the experience of previous reviewers - quite a few hours. But. No. Honeysuckle.

Verdict: Demeter's Honeysuckle is a nice fragrance, safe for work (if you don't spray too much) non obtrusive or offensive, maybe even comforting but NOTHING like Honeysuckle. I can tell that there is some kind of floral in the scent, and you can smell it on the nozzle, but this is definitely not Honeysuckle. Disappointing. I will wear this as an "at home fragrance" but I will never repurchase.

If you're after a Honeysuckle fragrance, look elsewhere. If you're after a baby powder fragrance, this is perfect. I wonder if Demeter's baby powder fragrance smells like Honeysuckle?

Amazingly true-to-life honeysuckle. Yes, it doesn't last terribly long, but that doesn't bother me. It will take you right back to one of those hot summer evenings just after school lets out for good, when white-and-yellow blossoms run riot over porches, chain-link fences, and everything else in Virginia. You stroll down the sidewalk wearing an old tank top, shorts and flip-flops, on your way to see a friend and get an ice cream cone together. And this is the scent that fills the air as the fireflies begin to sparkle in the bushes.

Great scent, fades FAST! not worth it. (It says its all natural, so i like that, but its just not worth it!)
Try the Bath and Body Wild Honey Suckle or Jo Malone one if you want lasting power.

I'm with those who find this strongly reminiscent of fresh honeysuckle. Wow. I lived in Maryland and Northern Virginia for 15 years, and the scent of honeysuckle is one of the things I've missed most since moving North.... Alas, it doesn't last very long, even for a Demeter.

This is a sentimental scent for me and I usually only wear it in the spring and early summer months for that reason. It smells just like a humid, dewy night in Kentucky when the honeysuckle is in bloom. It reminds me of late night and early morning hours when I would sneak out of my parents' house to hang out with girlfriends ... it was sort of a Ya-Ya thing.
I own other Demeter fragrances, but I mostly just wear Honeysuckle and Gin & Tonic. For me, I'm impressed at how long HS seems to last (much longer than G&T) and I find that the dry down is pleasant (unlike other users here). It doesn't turn into anything weird, dead, or old-ladyish.
I love love love it. Thank you Demeter!

I ordered this fragrance sight unseen (err, scent unsmelled) from Demeter's website because the other fragrances I have from them are so lifelike, and I was quite taken by the idea of smelling like a honeysuckle vine. I wish I had seen it in a store first so I could have tried it on. Some people have commented that this fragrance, like other Demeter fragrances, doesn't last very long. Honestly, I couldn't comment on that because unlike with my other Demeter fragrances (Lily of the Valley and Angel Food- both wonderful!) I have to wash this stuff off within 5 minutes of spritzing it on.

This fragrance smells lovely in the bottle, just like real honeysuckle. And when I put it on, even right out of the shower, it smells wonderful for a few seconds, and then the scent changes to something awful, something rubbery and decaying. The most accurate way I can find to describe it is to liken it to the smell of the stems of cut flowers when you've left them in a vase full of water far too long after you should have thrown them out- that decaying, molding, green sludge smell. It becomes unbearable pretty quickly.

Judging by the other reviews, this awful smell doesn't happen with everyone, but I'm also not the only person who has this problem with this fragrance. I'm guessing that for some people it just reacts oddly with body chemistry, so I'm giving it 2 lippies instead of 1 since it probably wouldn't be horrible on everyone. But if you can, try before you buy to avoid a nasty surprise!

This really does smell *just* like wild honeysuckles - without a doubt the truest honeysuckle fragrance I've tried. In terms of lasting power of this fragrance - it's not super long, but not bad either. The Demeter bottles are a perfect size for throwing in your purse for a "pick me up" during the day. I've already gotten compliments on it, and I've only had it a few days. It's a very lovely floral scent.

THIS IS AMAZING!!! I smelled this particular perfume/cologne for the first time at Marshall's. The bottle was probably 1/4th full so I didn't buy it. I ran to Sephora.com and looked for it, but it was gone [I later learned it was DC]. I finally was able to swap for one, and I wear it all the time! It smells just like the honeysuckle that grows in my backyard in late May. [Some people say this doesn't last long, etc. That's why it is called a "pick me up spray." Also, it lasts longer if you apply more than one spray.] LOVE IT!!!!

This was a gift, but even so, it just smells terrible after being applied! When you sniff the fragrance from the bottle, it does smell like light and sweet honeysuckle flowers. However, after you spray it on your skin, it transforms into something that smells 'dead' or 'decaying'.. that's the only way to describe it. I'll try to return this if I can. Also, like every other Demeter scent, it lasts about 10 seconds, which in this case is a good thing!

I tried this on in the store awhile ago, and I have to agree with the other reviewers: it is a real honeysuckle smell, and I love it! I was amazed that it didn't turn on me or give me a headache (which every other perfume has done except for Crabtree & Evelyn's Lilly of the Valley and Evelyn perfumes). I waited to ask for it for my birthday, and when my hubby went to look for it, it was gone. I thought they discontinued it, so I am happy to find that they haven't. I guess I'll have to start looking for it again, because it is a really lovely perfume. I also kind of like the small bottle because I don't wear that much perfume, and I often don't use an entire bottle before it gets too old.

First off, let me just revel in the fact that I FINALLY found a ton of Demeter Pick-Me-Up sprays at Marshalls for just $8! I had heard TJMaxx and Marshalls sometimes have them, but it's taken several yrs for them to finally show up at mine. I specifically wanted the Honeysuckle scent. The only had one bottle of it, and I got it!!! I have to say I'm really pleased w/ it, as it's very true-to-life, unlike a lot of honeysuckle fragrances. The only other one that rivals it was the discontinued one in Avon's Naturals line. I've tried quite a few other honeysuckle sprays and perfume oils, but they always have this extra spicey note that does not occur in real honeysuckle, which has a very pure/soft/sweet smell. This one pretty much gets it right!

No other honeysuckle scented product smell as accurate as this one! I never smell anything that got honeysuckle right, but this one smell so true to life!! It smell EXACTLY like real honeysuckle and nothing else! I didn't even think anyone could get honeysuckle right, but they did. It's a great spring scent, either for wearing in the spring or for sniffing in the middle of the winter when you're depressed and need to be reminded of spring. Like all Demeter's it disappears on the skin pretty fast but if you spray you're clothes it lasts all day. Would buy again.

It smells like honeysuckle, but there's also another, strange scent in it. I can't really describe it, but it's not nice. Won't buy again.
