LOVE this shadow SO much. It is my staple for a really gorgeous smokey eye. I love gold and i love black, and when I saw this shadow I knew it was meant to be.
You can get many looks from this shadow, depending on how much gold or black you pickup from the pan. It's really lovely. Lasts all night with a primer. Just love it!

Not to mention it is so darn pretty.

I have so much love for this shadow it is unreal! It is the HG shadow for making the perfect sultry, sumptuous smokey look that you want for nights out. It is a really complex colour, depending on how its applied, I've had it look more gold, more black, slightly olive gold or hints of grey. Very beautiful whatever the outcome. Plus I've had it a while now and it is showing no signs of wearing down, so it was definitely a good investment on my part. It looks gorgeous in the pan too, baked to perfection and super blendable. I would definitely say this is a shadow more suited to those with a prefence for dramatic smokey eyes, because it can be a little hard to make it look subtle. But, if you work at it you can make this look acceptable for daytime. Complete multitasker, well worth the rave review, definitely buy again and recommend.

RAVE for Gilt by Association. Gorgeous and versatile, looks fabulous on me. I can see both the gold and the grey-black on my lid when applied with a fluffy blending brush. Dark, dramatic, fast. Easy to get just right. Perfect for a night out, but could also be worn for day.

I love this! You can use it in so many ways, more gold, more black, mix them together, wet, dry... aaahmazing. Can easily build the colour up or just brush over slightly for a sheer gold/bronze look.
I love getting a little brush and running over my black winged eyeliner for a touch of sparkle.
Staying power is also great and a little goes a long way. I use this all the time and it's still like new.

GAWD! This is gorgeous. A blackened gold w slight bronze. Great pigmentation and staying power. Applying wet makes it even better. Sexy, sultry, mysterious. HG smokey eye. Works for daytime and layer it for night time. It's very fragile-I accidentally dropped the tester on the counter and broke it. I wet my brush, tap it in the shadow a few times then tap it on my lid.
I just got this at Macy's a week ago- maybe MAC is bringing it back. I chose one with more gold veining instead of bronze.

I think this has got to be one of my most used shadows, however I feel like I have the same amount as when I started! When I go to MAC, I always haul since we don’t have one where I live. I was stuck deciding between this and another mineralize shadow and I’m happy that I didn’t put this one down! I like that you can pick up either the black or just the gold, or mix the two together. I got one with tons of streaks so it’s definitely a new color everytime! I use this to make simple daytime looks, or edgy going out looks! Will definitely repurchase!

I noticed Nordstrom had this on their website recently. This is the easiest smoky eye anyone can achieve just using this one eye shadow. On my skin tone, it gives off a brown to olive green gold color. I put a black or dark brown NYX jumbo pencil down first and apply GBA with a wet brush over it and blend up towards the crease and it gives off such a sexy, smoldering, and effortless look. This colors gets a lot of love from me, it just screams sexy.

I have finally got my hands on this elusive eyeshadow. I missed out when it came out with style black so i had to purchase it on ebay. I pat this eyeshadow on over sharkskin and it looks so beautiful brownish and glittery. These ladies at my work said "Oh my god you're eyes are so beautiful it looks like the makeup they do on American Idol." So i need to buy another one but luckily it seems as though it will not run out anytime soon.

I loved wearing this one by MAC! I paired it with carbon, and nars surbaya duo and the look was dramatic indeed. I loved the ease of use with it and the uniqueness of the names in the style black collection. If they were not ltd, I would buy again

I missed out on this the first time and was able to find this at the CCO. They had this one and the blue one (forget the name of that one), but I chose this one because I already have the Hard Candy dupe of the blue one.

Ok, so if there is one thing you must keep in mind, it is that you HAVE to use this wet. I applied this completely dry and it was just a gross, boring greyish green/gold smudge. I then wet my brush and applied more, and it began to look like it does in the pan.

This is OK, I was not that impressed with it, and I'm putting it up for swap. I honestly think that the Hard Candy dupes are better. The MAC MES might be more fine, but the HC ones last longer and have more vivid coloring. I paid $13 for this at the CCO, and I think that the $6 dupe from Walmart would have been a better purchase. I don't really like drugstore stuff, but in this situation, honestly, the dupe wins.

I picked this one up because it was different than the other shadows & i can pretty much dupe the look of the others w/ Fyrinnae.
This is a really pretty shimmery/glittery brown that i bet would look good on anyone :)

Yes! Yes!! YES!!! I would repurchase this limited edition black and gold eyeshadow when I run out (even if it will be in 5-10 years from now, there is a lot of product and it is very pigmented). As described it is a black with lots and lots of gold in it which swatches as olive gold. It is suitable for daytime and nigh time look and could be worn alone without any other colors. For a drop-dead gorgeous sophisticated look I put a NYX dark brown jumbo pencil, Gilt by Association all over, MAC goldmine in the tearduct and than foil MAC antique gold reflects all over... OMG! It created the best nightime look, bold yet sophisticated and purely amazing. There are not a lot of shadows on the market which when people see they scream: WOW. this is one of them. The only shadow that comes close to it is NARS Galapagos, which is the same golden shimmer on a very pigmented chocolate brown. Anyhow folks, if you can lay your hands on this - grab it and never let go!

Gorgeous...simply gorgeous colour(s) - a lovely mix of golden bronze and black that is beautiful to look at and even more beautiful to wear. At my age (ahem!), I never thought I'd be a candidate for a shadow like this but it is beautiful, applies like a dream, adapts to a lot of different looks and is surprisingly wearable and versatile. No fallout with this either, which isn't something you can say about all the mineralized eyeshadows.

It's really hard for me to find a gold and black eyeshadow that still retains both it's colors equally well on my skin tone. Luckily MAC went ahead and released this and now all my problems are over! Applied dry this is the most intense dark gold I've seen in a long time. I want to say it's like a blacked up version of amber lights but that really doesn't do it justice. What really impressed me most of all with this is that unlike a lot of back mixed with X color shadows the black doesn't completely over power the other color. Instead it adds to it adding tons of depth and demention that the god could never gave on it's own. The best and by far my most favorite way to apply this though is wet - it makes my eyelids look like they've been coated in antique gold. It's fabulous and reminds me a lot of the metallics collection from Illemasqua but at a much more affordable price.

My go-to eyeshadow when I want to do a sexy, smoldering, Kardashian-style smokey eye. I agree, the first photo up there doesn't do the eyeshadow justice at all. I use it wet or applied over a sticky base to get the most out of it, and never cease to get compliments on it from men and women alike. When smudged right below my lower lash line, it's beautiful. Got this at a CCO for about 8 bucks, and would go back for more right away if I didn't know that I'll probably never use all of it (it's a big Mineralize shadow). LOVE it

I LOVE THIS! It is soo beautiful. This was my first MAC eyeshadow, and I'm so glad I purchased it when I did because its limited edition.
For school I created cat eyes with Covergirl Line Exact liquid liner, and used a flat eyeshadow brush from Sonia Kashuk to go over the liner with this gorgeous shadow, and it really adds some variety and unique-ness to your everyday cat eye look. Then for night, I just smudge more onto my eyelid, up to my crease, add a little gold shimmering eyeshadow to my tear ducts and browbone, and I'm done! Perfect smokey eye. This is my favorite eyeshadow.

The photo up there is ugly and does not look at all like the real thing. Its got beautiful antique gold shimmers in a black mineral base. It tends to have lots of fallout when applied dry but when applied wet it looks better anyway. It looks great with a black base or a gold base or with no base at all. I love smudging this into my lower lash line with a 219 or essence of beauty small crease brush. Too bad they are not around anymore on ebay they go for like $40! yikes! This does a good job of staying tho and looks beautiful for any occasion! I like to pair this with a subtle sheer or nude lip tho cause this look can be easilyintense. One of a kind eyeshadow!

This is my favorite eyeshadow. It's shimmery, but not overly glittery. I love that you can put it on very sheer for daytime, and make it dark and dramatic for nights out. Perfect smokey eye color for me.

This is one of my very few disappointments from MAC. I absolutely LOVE the color, however, putting this on is a mission. It tends to fly everywhere but my eyelids even with primer. I may try spraying my brush with studio fix and then applying but as of now it fails :-(

Update: I know that I gave this a horrible review initially but I take full responsibilty for not knowing how to use this. Yes, the fall out is terrible even when I wet my brush but I've just learned to apply my eye makeup first before my face makeup (yes, it is worth the trouble)! I'm sure that there is a dupe out there, but in my opinion, nothing compares! This can be toned down for day time or glammed up using MAC Slick Black Grease Paint Stick. I tried this with Studio Fix and it not only made the flecks of glitter stay in place but it also made the e/s look like gold aluminum foil on my lids. Gorgeous!!! Hope they re-release this at some point!

I'm a sucker for shimmery eyeshadows and this is no exception! I absolutely LOVE it and wish I had gotten a back up, although I'm nowhere close to using it all up. I reach for this more than any other shadow I have. It's so versatile. I can apply it wet for an intense smoky look, but I also love to use a fluffy blending brush to just sweep a little bit over my lids over other eyeshadow colors. It's a great way to deepen the color and add subtle shimmer. I'm so glad I discovered this and I wish MAC would bring back this collection so I could pick up some of the other colors.
