This product is Amazing!!! Yes it is sticky, but it is completely worth it. I only use it at night and my skin is so much clearer. It is a much better product than benzoyl peroxide which irritates your skin. This has helped with acne more than scarring, but still a great product!

I don't love this. I got this instead of my usual mandelic as they were out of stock and I had a coupon for 20% off. It is usually $50. The texture is an extremely sticky gel cream. It never quite sinks in or stops being sticky. With the other brand I use it keeps my skin clear, my pores looking great and any sun spots at bay. My skin just looks great overall. This one is just mediocre. I notice a bit of that but it isn't wowing me. The texture is terrible, I hate the stickiness, the results aren't as good as I had hoped - and it's about $20 more (when this one is full price). The pump is nice however I won't buy this again.

I don't usually write reviews, partly because I don't get most of the ravings. (It's not you, girls. It's me, my skin.) But well, this lotion made me break my "rule". It might be the closest thing to a miracle cream. My post-acne red marks have greatly faded from using this lotion every other day for the last three weeks. My skin is now smooth with no pimple, and, who would have known, even-toned! So happy!

This is a review for the 12%. I'm actually on my 2nd bottle of this. It took me a while to figure out the right amount to use, otherwise it is way too sticky. I like how it gently fades acne scars and little discoloration. I don't have sensitive skin so there is no issue for me. I think I will try the 20% next.

I love this stuff! I use the 20% refinisher and I love it. It really brightens my skin and refines my pores, face looks smoother. I personally find that if I use for months my skin gets too bright and it lightens it a little much for me. As soon as I see my skin getting dull again I come back to this and I LOVE the results. I use the moisturizer and the face wash by M2 as well and I love all of them together.

This is almost HG status for me. For me personally, I can see results from this product (mandelic acid) faster than using glycolic acid or retinoids.
Had a few clogged pores as well as tiny bits of acne scarring. I used it for maybe 5 consecutive nights and this product was able to resolve the problem.
I applied at nighttime after washing my face. The M2 has a very tacky sticky feeling on the skin though. I allow it it sit on my skin for about 15 minutes and then apply a light moisturizer on top to combat some of the stickiness.

Please guys.... make sure you test out this product on a small patch of your skin to rate your sensitivity.... I also herd about this product from acne.org... bought to see what it can do for pitted scars and pores... i have not been consistant so i cant give a fair review.... but i can tell this product has the potential to cause serious damage if not used wisely. I have recently picked it up again from my dawer to test it out but will only apply like a pea drop every other night.
I will be back with a better review. Also it appears that the majority prefer the older version "MaMa Lotion" if soo can the manufacturers please bring it back.

I don't know whether this really perfected skin tone- it did not erase pores, scars etc. as touted on the package. It just made me feel as if I'd mistakenly painted my face with nail polish top coat. Yucky.

I read a lot of good comments on this product on acne.org so I was thinking this would be the solution to my acne scar problems but after 2 months of religous use, I came away very disaapointed. I did not notice any effect on my skin after 2 solid months of use. It was very sticky and burned when I put it on but hey whatever works right? WRONG! I spent 60 hard earned dollar on a premium product that did nothing. What a shame! Also although the bottle looks half way decent it performs horribly, I constantly struggled with opening it and pumping it was a nightmare, eventually the cap broke off. Form over function I guess is the motto at the M2 headquarters...

I bought the Skin Refinish 12%.I tried use it as a mild exfoliant for my acne prone skin.It may be great for normal skins, but not sensitive acne prone skins. The sun burns are also unbearable.
I tried this because of good reviews. It is not a MILD solution.Keep that in mind.

I use this product as a spot treatment for existing acne on my back and face. If your skin can't handle retina, I recommend this product because it gets rid of acne without irritation. Like the other reviewers, the packaging is really bad. The cap fell off after only a few weeks of use.
Update 11/11/11
I did not reorder this product. It was too sticky and didn't get rid of my pimples quickly enough. Neutrogena On The Spot Acne Treatment works much better and is cheaper too.

Well to be honest I'm on my 4th bottle of this it all started from MaMa lotion .It's a great pick me up when my skin is getting dull and a great mechanical peel.It makes your skin glowy and even fades marks or scars gradually. You do have to be patient and consistent and don't overdue it because it will most likely cause a reaction if so. If you start slow your skin will adjust as well.
It does feel like glue on your face and can dry your face so the key is to always put a moisturizer after. Well in terms of packaging: the pump really sucks. If you can tolerate mandelic acid and have hardy skin go for it it's definitely worth it.My face is brighter and when I got a pimple ( which barely happens anymore) I've discovered If I put it as a spot treatment overnight it works like a charm yes it stings a bit ( meaning it works) but it's nothing I wouldn't be able to bare for all it's benefits.

This used to be me go-to AHA product. it worked (lightening my acne left-overs, preventing cysts, getting rid of blackheads) but i felt it stripped my skin too much. I couldn`t even apply my foundation anymore without it sliding right off because my skin was too smooth (I know it sounds weird but there is a "too" smooth).
I also hated the texture. way too sticky and drying.
I have now discovered alpha hydroxy souffle and I like it so much better. it gives me great results plus moisture. the texture is just like a light cream and my skin looks healthy and glowing.
M2 HP skin refinish was a good start into AHAs and I`m glad that i tried it. but I`m also glad that I have found something that works better (and is more affordable) for me (dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin).

The 20% M2 Refinish product is the only thing that is FINALLY ridding of some crazy-deep cysts that I've been battling for MONTHS. I spot treat every night and a huge cluster of deep cysts on my back jawline are gone thanks to this. It's pretty expensive, but if you just use it to spot treat, it'll last forever! I myself have been using a free sample size of this product for two whole months and am still not out....Love this stuff.

One of my good friends has radiant skin, and swears by this product as the reason for her flawless complexion. I had to try it, and I just bought my 2nd bottle. Each bottle lasts about 6 months, so I think it is a good value. It has really improved the texture of my skin, its smoothness, and has reduced the nasolabial wrinkles that I was just starting to develop.
I use M2 Refinish almost every night. I can't use it every night, or else my skin gets irritated. I will use it for about 5 or 6 nights in a row, then I skip it the next night to let my skin rest. Because I am 31 and still have adult acne, I have noticed that it works best if I wash & dry my face, apply benzoyl peroxide, let it dry a few moments, and then apply the M2 lotion. In the morning, I use Paula's Choice BHA, antioxidant serum, Barrier Repair Lotion, and sunscreen. My skin has never looked so good. My boyfriend keeps telling me that I look like I'm 20.
I have far fewer breakouts now. The orange-peel pores around my nose have gotten smaller. This has reduced the sun spots that I had on my cheekbones. If you notice that it is making your skin too sticky, you might be using too much. I use one pump of M2 and it's enough for my entire face. I think the M2 is going to be a permanent part of my beauty regimen.
I deducted 1 lippie from my rating because the pump-top is flimsy. I do like the airtight packaging though.

After reading so many great reviews for this product, I had really high hopes and wanted this to work for me. Unfortunately, after using this product for 6 weeks now, I don't think it is doing anything.
In the last 6 weeks, I've still gotten the occasional cystic acne and bumps in my t-zone. It has not faded or lessened marks left from past cystic acne, and it has not reduced pore size. It has also done nothing for fine line and there is no significant difference in skin tone or clarity.
Additionally, as other reviewers have pointed out, it has a sticky texture which is disgusting. I made the mistake of buying the lime green colored (???) recovery moisturizer as well because some other reviewer raved about how wonderful the two complimented each other
Since it cost me $70, I've been forcing myself to use this up but I might just give up and throw it out now because it does nothing for my skin. Its also been hard to bring myself to use this everyday because the look, feel and smell of the line is just so repulsive.

Okay, this is a review for the M2 Skin Refinish 20%. The product itself work quite well. It did help smooth, even out (some) and keep the blemishes at bay, but the product consistency is so sticky. I used it for several weeks noticing some changes, but it was too sticky and tacky for me. It would have to change my pillowcase every few days because it would rub off, and I could feel and smell it on my pillowcase, not good when you are prone to breakouts. The packaging is horrible. The bottle comes with a twist and pump type cap which broke 3 days after I used it. I had to break the cap off and pour it onto my fingers. Product works okay, but too sticky and with the packaging be the way it is for the cost $$$. There has to be something better. I will not repurchase.

My battle with acne has left me with scars-not just the hyperpigmented ones but the pitted kind! But lucky for me, I found M2. I had originally used this for breakouts but discovered that with consistent use over time, my many, many facial scars were evening out. This was an AMAZING discovery for me-I was considering going for a professional deep dermabrasion treatment/chemical peel to smooth out my face. Been using Mama lotion/M2 for over a year now and many of my ice pick scars are now simply large pores. Success! I have recently added Alpha Hydrox AHA Souffle to my regime so hopefully this will speed up the process!
Some cons (thus I have deducted a lippie): it stings on first contact (but I have gotten used to it so it's not really a problem for me now), the sticky feeling upon touching skin/lingering odor, and the price.
Still, overall, I love M2 and would continue using for a long time.

I don't find this very effective for my hyperpigmentation or the overall look of my skin.
Its just expensive AHA serum. The packaging is a bit OTT, which looks nice but is a waste of materials and probably adds to the cost unnecessarily.
The stickiness sucks too I agree.
I will be trying alpha hydrox aha souffle, it probably does the same thing and is much cheaper.

On paper I would say this would be the perfect product for my skin issues. My 2 worst skin issues are clogged pores on my Tzone, and uneven complexion everywhere else. So I finally spent the $ and went for it. At first I really liked it despite the disgustingly sticky texture, but after a while i realized I am never going to ever again use a product that I despise the texture/feel of. Not only that! but the pump mechanism broke and i ended up having to open it and tap product out for every application. I will search for another product with the same type of ingredient, but no one should have to endure such a product that they hate putting on their face. Blech. There is no reason they can't make this product feel less gross.
