Gorgeous!! I don't understand nasty reviews; if you tried the product before purchase, you would know there's some glitter in it. Nothing dramatic like some people say. I fell in love with it at the MAC counter and find myself reaching for it daily. Its luminous and looks flawless on tanned skin. No disco-ball effect, it just catches the light perfectly. I'd say a great value at only $18. I really love it with a powder highlight over it. I've gotten so many compliments, even a woman at Sephora put back all of her products to go get "the beautiful shimmer along my cheekbones" 5 lippies for me!

This is good stuff. As a beauty product collector that is slowly trying to downsize I really appreciate products that have multiple uses.
I was actually going to toss it while cleaning a drawer but decided to go to the mirror to try it out again. Very pretty on the eyes and also a face highlighter. But on the face you really have to blend properly to keep from looking overly frosty. I'd forgotten all about it as it was lost in the sea of cosmetics that I call my drawer.
This color works quite nice with my skin color so it's a keeper.

Shell is a gorgeous cream highlighter with a peachy beige shimmer that imparts a very natural luminous glow. I don't know why this is considered a blush by MAC because it's NOT a blush! It is a beautiful highlighter though and I love it!

I bought Shell 2 years ago because KandeeJohnson raved about it on youtube. I quickly hit pan on it and thought it was the best thing ever; but then i bought NARS copacabana (which is my favourite highlighter ever.. it gives a healthy glow without being glittery at all). Anyways, i was fishing through my collection recently and saw Shell and decided to try it out again (after all, I had already hit pan so it must be good right?) It wasn't very flattering. It's very glittery.. not shimmery/glowy... glittery. If you're looking for a good highlighter, skip shell and go for NARS copacabana multiple; it's a little expensive but so worth it as it looks way more natural and flattering.. plus it lasts FOREVER

Does'nt really show on my fair skin for some reason?? All you see is glitter. Not sure yet if I like it...

I'm a huge MAC fanatic and have been looking for a great highlighter for awhile so when KandeeJ kept raving about this on her YT channel I thought I would give it a try, however, I didn't like it very much. Shell is a cool pink colour with white frosty shimmer. It was almost a pinkish brown colour which was okay for highlighting cheeks but not very versatile, it was just too pink! The shimmer particles were also slightly larger than I would have liked. If you are looking for a pink cheek highlight colour and usually wear a similar look I would say give it a try, but if you want a highlighter you can use in more places (nose, inner corners, chin, cupids bow) or like to experiment with different looks I would recc going for a different, more white versatile highlight colour. I exchanged shell for pearl and I love pearl wayyyyy more! I'm really into the bronzey look and the pinkness of shell just didn't work with that. Pearl does though!

Some people are considering this product as a blush (actually, it is included under 'blush' category). I do not really understand why, because this product is not meant to be a blush....hence, so many bad reviews..of course!
This product is intended for adding glow to some areas of your face, for instance, on the upper side of your cheeks or below your eyebrows. If well applied it looks beautiful and luminous. It has to be applied carefully in the day time, while it can be applied freely at night.
Shell is my favourite colour.

I have been using this product in the shade Shell for about two years. I really like it as a highlighter, it sinks into my skin nicely instead of sitting on it and I love the shimmer it leaves on my skin, it's not too much or too little.
I wouldn't recommend it in place of a blusher even if you are going for a really subtle colour as even on a fair skin I don't think this product is pink enough to work.
I've also used the Cream Colour Base in the shade Pearl. I've got to admit I didn't like it as much as Shell purely because it had no pink tone to it whatsoever, but if you're looking for a cream highlighter without the pinkiness and you only want the shimmer this product gives then that is probably going to be the one for you.

This is the best cream highlighter out there as far as I am concerned, I have fair skin and this appears as a very subtle pink sheen on my skin, when used properly. I use a few dabs on my cheekbones, and down my nose. I was skeptical in buying this color, thought it might be too dark for me, but it is perfect. My only complaint is that it does not last all day. I find myself applying it again in the afternoon.

I use this as an eyeshadow base when I am wearing brown or gold shadows. I find this works better than the paint pots to prevent creasing and make eyeshadow stay longer.

bought it to use as a highlighter, and used it a few times, but for me it just looks like too much gliter. i dont like looking like a gliter ball, but thats exactly how it makes me look. and yes i do put just a bit of it. every me i used it, i had to put some powder on top of it to tone it down. really wish i didnt spend my money on it.

this color is awesome as a cheek highliter or eye hiliter, too light to use as a blush, i also use this on my lips with clear gloss! love all the CCB'S

I got shell about a year ago and used it quite often however whenever I used this as a highlighter my husband always commented that I had glitter on my face. That eventually put me off.

i wanted shell since 2007 and had high hopes for it because it looked so stunning in the tin however it as hardly any colour pay off and way to much glitter. you may as well buy a cheap kiddy glitter if you like the look of this product. i tryed it on my brow bone , cheek bones and nose as a highlight but it just won't work for me :(

THIS IS MY FAVORITE HIGHLIGHTER IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really like shell for several reasons. As i am of the 'pale and interesting' persuasion, (NC15) it can be difficult to get a highlighter right. This has just enough colour and gives a nice subtle glow. Yes, it has a bit of chunk, glitter-wise but not so much that you'll loook like you just pranced out of bloody Twilight. I don't use these on the whole eye as a base, but i do use it where i need to pack a colour on top of another. Say you use a dark colour all over the entire lid and decide for whatever reason that you need a lighter colour to open up your eye - maybe had a heavy night on the dirty beer? (Yes, i've been there, ladies!)
Chuck a bit of this on and then pack your lighter pigment or shadow on top with a 239 and there you go, new eyes! Well, slightly more human eyes, anyway!

Gorgeous colour, but not for me. It's waaay to shimmery and bronze for my NC15-NW20 skin tone, isn't too great of an eyeshadow base and not the best lip colour. Would not repurchase or recommend.

Gorgeous color!! I apply this with my fingers or a stiff brush as a highlight color on my cheekbones. Has shimmer to it, but not too much. Makes for a nice, dewy, polished look. I also own the cream color base in Pearl.

Creme color bases are my favorite Mac products after their lipsticks and this color is just gorgeous, I think on darker skin colors this might work better than luna or pearl....love!
