This product is OK. Not HG - but it's a good dupe of the Revlon Colorstay eyeliner. Both products are very similar - even the packaging looks almost the same. Though there is some good staying power for this eyeliner, it still isn't as good as the Revlon. It almost always smears at the outer corners of my eye everytime I use this - and I always wear eye primer. At times, it would smear on my lids. If I forget to wear eyeprimer - then this product would always and without a doubt smear and spread all over and would make my eyes a mess. Though the Revlon eyeliner isn't perfect, it would never smear the way this Ulta liner would. I would never pay full price for this.. but it is definitely worth the $1 when it goes on sale. So I would definitely buy this product again if it was $1, if not - then I would just buy the Revlon. Again, just remember to use your eye primer (I prefer the Too Faced Eye Insurance over the Urban Decay one) everytime you use this liner.

This eyeliner is okay, nothing amazing. I love the design of it and I like that you don't have to sharpen it. It's a kind of grayish color, not black, so I went over it twice just to darken it. It glides on easily. It's pretty good but the $8 USD pricetag is kind of high for such a simple product. It's also kind of tiny but it's a pretty good quality. It also doesn't go onto the waterline very well so if you use eyeliner there this won't work.

I got a ton of these when Ulta was having a 2 for 4 promotion. These are amazing! They are nowhere near as good as Revlon Colorstay, but they are worth the price. They do smudge and they aren't very waterproof but they do the job. For an everyday look, I only line the top and it works fine. Stays on until get home, but it does come off if I rub my eyes. The pigmenting is excellent and it goes on smoothly. These do not work well on the waterline (my eyes kinda bulge out so they water a lot) but I didn't expect them to. For lining the waterline and when I need staying power, I use Revlon. For everything else, I go with these. Nonetheless, these are amazing for the price! I will be getting more when they have a sale again!

I have been using this product for a few months and find that is smears/melts during the day. I find it under my lower eyelashes.
I am switching to liquid eyeliner!

I've been wearing the black/brown color for years and I LOVE it-it's longwearing, barely smudges and doesn't irritate my eyes. BUT...I just got the black and it's TERRIBLE-smudged under my eyes after an hour. Weird thing is, the black eyeliner doesn't say long lasting and waterproof on the stick, even though it's the only automatic eyeliner in Black that Ulta makes. I'm sticking to Black/brown cuz it's dark enough for me anyway.

I'm not an eyeliner snob by any means, but I really dislike this eyeliner. The pigmentation is sub-par and it fades/smudges throughout the day! I will stick with my MAC Kohl eyeliner.

So I only got it because it was super cheap. I have fallen in love with this product, its cheap, does it's job and it's very pigmented. I was iffy at first but its a great find, I even got my girlfriend hooked on it. I would recommend this product to everyone.

works great for the most part, and doesn't smudge as easily as other eyeliners i've tried. my only complaint is that right after i pull off the cap too much of the eyeliner will pop out, and i'll have to constantly fiddle with it to get it to the appropriate length. however, no one else seems to be having this problem, so perhaps mine is just broken due to overuse.

This is my go-to eyeliner! I absolutely adore it. I just bought my second one today, I'd be lost without this stuff! It stays on all day, even when it was 100 degrees outside and I was sweating, it still stayed on and looked fantastic. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. It goes on smooth and never smears or runs. Thank you Ulta!

Highly pigmented, easy to use. I wanted the black to use on my waterline and for tightlining and it works like a dream, soft application, gentle and no smudging whatsoever. Lasts a very long time on my waterline, love, love, love. I bought one in black, chocolate and black brown.

Why at age 48 would I buy black eyeliner? I never wore it even in my clubbing heyday. But having recently discovered Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliners, I was feeling an irrational urge to buy "Zero." Since I would have absolutely NOWHERE to wear that, I conquered the craving by dropping $2 on this little guy instead. I figured if nothing else, I could use it for Halloween. Well, I was pleasantly surprised by this purchase! I'm not coordinated enough to "tightline," but the fine point on this liner makes it great for working way down into the base of lashes. I use it along my top lashes only. Surprisingly, it looks really subtle! It actually has a charcoal-blue tone to it which is rather similar to my $22 Laura Mercier cake eyeliner and makes my green eyes look amazing. And it lasts all day. Who would have though I'd end up using black eyeliner for a casual weekend day look? I will definitely repurchase this when it runs out. (Yes, I did also try doing a "smudgy rocker" eye with this...it was as laughable as you might imagine. The liner migrated into undereye wrinkles I never knew I had! Well, got that out of my system...)

I bought three eyeliners in the color black, simply because they were so cheap at the time. I got to admit i was surprise by how pigmented they were, i am so going to keep on purchasing this eyeliners for my waterline.

This is a great black liner! It says waterprroof and while I haven't tested thatit is smudgeproof. Its great for the waterline as its the longest wearing I have tried including Urban Decay 24/7 and is much cheaper. I like that its in twist up form not pencil which is very convenient. Its a creamy texture. I did give it a 4 on packaging just because I feel that it doesn't have quite as much product as I would like but at this price who cares. I have also tried the sephora equivalant which is complete crap compared to this! This glides on easy and while its true what some people say that its not the blackest, it is buidable so you can make it appear darker if you want. I'm just about out and plan on buying another.

I have been obsessed with this eyeliner since I was about 16. I refuse to wear anything else and I buy this in bulk. I have tried other eyeliners only because I have maybe been in a bind and couldn't make it to an Ulta to purchase more (rarely because I normally have at least 5 at home), and NOTHING has even come close.

It goes on smooth, you don't have to mess with a sharpener, stays on all day which is saying a lot because I have oily skin, and comes off when I wash my face with just regular face wash.

If there is one item I can't live without in my beauty regimine, it is this eyeliner. I love it so much!

LOVE this eyeliner. I use eyeliner mostly for the inside of my lids (top and bottom) It says its long lasting and waterproof on the label, which I have to say its very true. I wear contacts and even after putting drops in my eyes my eyeliner is still intact. I reapply a few times a day because I'm a liner junkie and love that dark, dark, eye look but even if I don't have time to re-apply my eyes are still good and the color is just a little lighter if anything. It does smudge a little into my lower lash line towards the end of the day but I just wipe it away easily with my finger. When you line the inside of your lids you will always eventually have some liner that smudges down because of the moisture from your eye. Some pencils "melt" more than others and this one def is one that melts the least. It has great staying power and a staple for my every day makeup routine.

I would buy this product if it was on sale for $1 again because its not the worst $1 eyeliner but also not the best I have had. I think its a nice black, not the blackest black but its a good shade of it. I think that there isn't much product in it however. I had better luck with other Autoeyeliners because there was just more product in the pencil. Overall I would say this is good for a throw it in your purse just to touch up during the day. It is waterproof but it is not all that.

Best liner for the waterline and doesn't irritate my eyes. Stays put all day long. This liner really doesn't get enough credit.

Total crap! I end up with raccoon eyes and I don't usually have that problem. I can't even get this to stay on the waterline for more then a few minutes. Not to mention that its not that black either.

I got this for $1 on recent ulta sale. For the price, this is a good dark eyeliner that doesnt budge. I got the waterproof version. Nothing out of the ordinary for me, just a good ole eyeliner. Definitely a good product to own.

The thickness of this liner product is GREAT in lighter colors, but the black just goes on way too heavily and is prone to very noticeable smudging. If you want a super-dramatic eye, go for it, but be careful to let it set for a while before touching your eye area (usually I'd line before mascara, but do it in reverse with this product).

There are comparably priced black liners aplenty that do a better job (try the twist-up Maybelline). The beauty of Ulta liners is in the colors, not the black.
