Today I’m going to talk about something that means the world to me – My bikini line. One day I stumbled across BettyBeauty’s Ready Betty Ultimate Stylin’ Kit. The claims were just too amazing! Pain-free hair removal that was going to save me money, smell good, and condition my skin? Sign me up!

In fact I was so excited that, like a real idiot, I didn’t do a spot test before smearing this stuff all over the place. Fortunately this story doesn’t end with a trip to the hospital. Ladies and gents, do not try this at home.

The kit comes with a pair of blunt-end scissors, eight stickers in the event you want to make your bikini line fancy (I suggest the money sign, but I decided to skip the stencil because my bikini line is just too serious and I wasn’t drunk), the tube of remover, a spatula, and a razor to remove stray hairs.

So I sat around for ten minutes, because the five minute check showed very little going on. It stung a little, but not so badly that I decided to wash it off. When the timer went off, I discovered that my bikini line looked like it had a severe case of mange. It was touch and go on hair removal, and what was left looked like there was a perm gone horribly wrong happening. Yikes.

Skip ahead a few weeks, and I get the gumption to try this stuff again. Well, it did work better the second time around with the full ten minutes. However, I still had to scrub and scrub and scrub to get all the little hairs broken off loose from the skin. Also it stung more.

This all results in me having to shave the next day, because my skin is too sensitive to put my nice, natural shaving cream onto it. Great. My betty? Decidedly not ready.

It retailed for around $15. I figured that was a great bargain until I came home to find out that the tube isn’t really that big inside the pretty pink box. And if I liked it, I’d have to buy the whole kit over again because they don’t just sell the cream alone.

What did I like about the kit? Actually, I really liked the scissors. They’ll make a nice addition to my regimen, but I’m irked that the rest of it was completely useless to me. Oh well. Hope it works for someone with finer hair out there.
