I was very skeptical about this product because it's a gel rather than a thick cream, which is what I would normally use for my extremely dry skin. I ran out of my Boots Sensitive Hydrating Cream, and I couldn't get to a Target to buy more, so I just ran into Wal-Mart quickly to find something. I decided to try this because it was really inexpensive, and I thought I was just grabbing a quick-fix. It turns out that this moisturizes my skin amazingly well without feeling heavy (which my other moisturizer sometimes did), and it smells good. It absorbs into my skin quickly because of the texture, but I have found that because my skin is so dry and tight I need to apply this to my entire face twice. Two "coats" if you will works the best for my face, and while I have purchased this product twice, I have found a new moisturizer that works better with my skin, but in a pinch, I would absolutely repurchase this. I am not so fond of the packaging for this product because of the texture: if you drop the jar, the gel-cream will go everywhere, meaning you'll have to replace it after one accident. I'm a pretty clumsy person, so I don't need something like that in my life. That's not necessarily the company's fault, just something to note.

A little background on my skin

I am not acne prone, have the odd hormonal breakout maybe a couple, few spots at the most, I don't have sensitive skin what so ever.

I purchased it and went home did my usual face routine, wash, tone, serum and then went to put this on, and excuse my language but holy c***p...My skin stung so badly, it felt like a harsh chemical peel, I washed it off immediately and my skin is now red and inflamed. I'm not sure what it is in this specific cream because I use the Garnier Gel-Cream formulation and it works quite well. I would err on the side of caution even if you don't have sensitive skin, I've used tons and tons of products on all ranges of the price spectrum and this is the only one I've had an adverse reaction to. :(

Brought this at Shoppers when on sale and omg I love it so much! It's not as heavy as my Vichy cream and I love the smell, a splash of fresh citrus. Very refreshing!

I picked this up because I could not find my usual Biores Hard Days Night cream, so I picked this up instead because I am a big fan of Garnier products. I have dry skin and was looking for something to really moisturize my skin without being heavy. When I first applied it, it wasnt thick and was really easy to apply, and soaked into my skin really nicely. It left my skin feeling moisturized and clean, not heavy or thick. And when I woke up the next morning my skin didn't feel heavy or dirty as I have had with some products that were just too thick. My skin was soft and smooth and I am very impressed with this product so far and will continue to purchase.

****5/22/11 -- Just want everyone to know that my review and all the others until recently were for a different formula. They've changed the formula. Why do they always do that with good products? So frustrating. I haven't tried the new product. It has caffeine in it. I don't think I like the idea of caffeine on my skin. I don't care what the purported 'benefits' are....Just thought people should know that most reviews are for the old formula may not apply. The NEW formula has a PINK strip instead of white on the bottle. *****

This is probably the only moisturizer that doesn't break me out. I've tried all: cerave, LaRoche Posay, cetaphil, natural oils, and many many more that I can't keep track of and is now laying unused in a drawer somewhere. Basically, if it got a good review on here and didn't seem comedogenic, I bought it, tried it, and managed to subsequently breakout from it. Very frustrating since my skin is dry.

This is actually a matte finish. I don't know if it says that, but it is. It works spectacularly under makeup as a primer. It has a lot of the same ingredients as a primer but it also has vitamin C and some other antioxidants.

One caveat: It is not that moisturizing. While it's on it makes skin look moisturized and gets rid of flakes, but it doesn't seem to actually add any lasting moisture to my skin. I've never used it overnight, maybe it would moisturize if I did. I will try that next.

I've been using this product for a few months now with no adverse effects, which says A LOT because I can't usually use any moisturizer longer than a few days before I breakout in small bumps.

Price is good. I got a BOGO at CVS.

LOVE that it does NOT contain SPF!!! SPF is in everything these days. If I want a SPF, I will wear one separately.

EDIT: I started using it at night too and it is much more hydrating that way.

My skin was getting dry and I needed something at a good price. This was it. My dryness went away and it's not oily, which is good for acne prone and oily skin, like mine. It also gave my skin a healthy glow, I will be using this. Particularly at night, has no spf!

I'm really suprised by the good reviews. This product ruined my skin. I bought it because it is a cream and I have dry skin. I need a nice cream.

I wasn't impressed for the first week. By the second week I noticed my skin getting dryer and tighter. Being on a super tight budget at the moment I couldn't afford to replace it, so I figured continuing to use it would be better than nothing...WRONG...By the end of the second week my skin was dry, wrinkled, crepe around the eyes, flakey and it looked super blotchey. I literally looked 20 years older.

I went through my drawers and found a moisurizer I picked up at the dollar store months earlier (I don't even remember why I bought it, I usually use Olay with great results). After one night of switching to the cheap product my skin looked better than it did. I finally splurged and went back to Olay, but after a few weeks or so my skin is still on the mend...I hope these wrinkles go away!!!!

This cream exceeded my expectations. My combination skin felt very smooth and regenerated after it. I used it as a day cream mostly because after frequent day and night use during the first few days I felt that I needed more moisture. So balancing it with a richer night cream worked perfectly.

I have not been that impressed with this product. It is a nice consistency, i do not like the smell at all (which i am not even fragrant sensitive or picky), It very slightly stings my face for a few seconds (i do not have sensitive skin), it does absorb quickly which is fine for me but for those with dry skin im not sure it would satisfy. Overall it is an ok product IMO, i will use it up but will not buy again.

I have been using this product for a week and I really like it, it is the best moisturizer that I have ever used, not to mention the cheapest.

This moisturizer soaks right in and like others have said leaves a nice silky base to put your make up on. I also use it for night time. My skin has been looking more even, and my make up has stayed on longer.

In the past I have gone without moisturizer because I couldn't find one that was not greasy or couldn't seen the benefit of wearing one. I've tried Philosophy, Rx for Brown Skin, Korres, Aveeno, clinique's moisture surge, to name a few. I LOVE this moisturizer!! My skin feels so supple! Oh and they are having tons of promotions for this item, I got a $6 coupon for mine, some come with mini travel tubs.

Consider this a four and a half lippie.
This is certainly the best drug store moisturizer I have ever used. I've used Olay, Aveeno, Neutrogena, Eucerin (eek!), and this one blows them all away.

I was browsing in Ulta and looking specifically for a mid-price moisturizer. I couldn't afford my true love, Korres honey-thyme moisturizing cream at the time, so I browsed the section where the drugstore brands are found. I thought I'd had it with all of them, but then I spotted this one, which was on sale from $13 down to $11 (USD). The benefits on the package looked promising - I specifically liked the prospect of skin renewal (which I interpreted as cell-turnover), So I thought I'd give it a try.
For some reason when Garnier first hit the market there was something I couldn't put my finger on that made me not trust the brand. I turned out to be wrong.

I love the way this product feels. It is fairly light, not greasy at all. When I put it on my skin, it absorbs so quickly and afterward my face feels very smooth and velvety. It works very well under makeup.

I feel confident that the product has "renewed" my skin when I wake up in the morning, because my skin has produced just a bit of it's own oil, which is actually a good thing for me because it lets me know that the product is actually helping my skin moisturize itself as it's meant to, while at the same time it has gotten rid of that first dead layer of skin cells.

I give it a four and a half instead of five because it is in a tub, which I actually never cared about until I read so many reviews on here that convinced me that tubs are evil. Secondly, the tub is rather small, and after applying it morning and night for about two weeks, it is about two-thirds gone. I have a feeling it will only last another week, so I don't know how good a value it is.
However, it works so well and feels so good, I probably won't mind spending $11 or so dollars every 3-4 weeks for a moisturizer that seems to be just as good as ones you would spend $30 for.

All-in-all, and excellent cream for a fairly inexpensive price. It feels great, I'm so glad I found it. Try it once, well worth it.
:)

Im sooo happy I discoverd this! I was walking around CVS looking for something new to buy. I picked this creme up and OHHHH MY
its the best cream ever! I applied it around my eyes and it did not sting. It leaves my face velvety, glowing and moisturized. I noticed results after 1 use Im not kidding. Im extremely shocked that a $13 creme from a drugstore can work so well. I have put my Clarins products on hold for now. It has been 2 weeks and Im in love with this lovely, velvety, great smelling creme. I WILL repurchase.

HUGE RAVE for this product. I can't believe i didn't try it sooner, I'm a little mad at myself for that. This product gets a 5/5 for sure. I've tried soooo many skincare brands high end and a couple of drug store brands, but I've mostly stuck with high end because skin care is high priority on my list. A month ago I purchased Lise Watier Hydra Temps Eclat ($42CAD) and I was (still am) thoroughly impressed with the day and night cream, but one day while I browsed Shoppers, I noticed Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew cream was on sale for $16 and I thought "what the heck I'll give it a go". So I tried it on that night and at first application it blew me away. In the pot the cream looked thick, but it applied more like a gel. It sunk into my skin instantly and left it matte, velvety and hydrated. My complexion is brighter now and my skin just looks and feels like I'm 16 again (minus the pubescent pimples). I highly suggest anyone planning to invest in a high end moisturizer to give this a go first because you may discover you'll like this more. Although Lise Watier owns Skin Renew in the scent department, I'll repurchase Skin Renew because it delivers more drastic results.

I love the entire Garnier skincare line. I've tried several other products (Skin Renew Night Cream and Ultra-Lift Eye Cream) and loved all of them. Unlike the other users, I use this as day cream. I have normal skin except for a very oily T-zone. This moisturizer goes on silky smooth and is absorbed very quickly, which I appreciate as I'm always rushed for time in the morning. It keeps my skin hydrated throughout the day. There's no need to reapply. I only wish it had SPF, then I wouldn't need to use a powder with SPF everyday.

Thank god for MUA! I would never have tried this product if I hadn't seen a review for it. I have combination (very oily t-zone, but very dry cheeks!), sensitive and intolerant skin. I've been using La Roche Posay (toleriane) for years and it's a great, basic moisturizer, but now that I'm getting older, I wanted something that does a little more for my skin. The majority of products tend to break me out, but miracle of miracles, so far this hasn't broken me out or irritated my skin at all. I've been using it at night for the past week and it's great. I'm going to continue using this unless I start breaking out or something (I'll update if that happens). The price is reasonable, and the fruity-fresh smell doesn't offend me. (I did take off one lippie because of the tub packaging.)

EDIT: Even though it's called "cream", it's not very moisturizing. I don't think really dry-skinned gals could use this because I usually have dry spots on my cheeks and this doesn't do a great job of moisturizing them. But I still like this moisturizer a lot, and will continue to use it because I started using a serum before my moisturizer, and my dry cheeks aren't so dry anymore.

I am fond of the entire line of Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew products. This moisturizer is fabulous in every way. I alternate every other night, between this and Renova, and my skin looks and feels absolutely perfect (if I do say so myself...and I just did, so, lol). Definitely will continue to repurchase, as I've been using this brand of skincare products for months and months now.

I also use the Ultra-Lift firming eye cream from the same line and love that as well. Both of these products are excellent. But since this review is for the moisture cream – I would have to confess that it is indeed my fav night cream I've ever used. oh I love the packaging, too. It's bright and cheery :)

I am cautiously optimistic about this product, as I've only been using it a week. It certainly leaves my skin nicely moisturized, giving my face a "glow". My skin is super sensitive, but also tends to get oily in the T-zone, and while it doesn't mattify the skin, it doesn't make it oilier, either. I'm a bit hesitant to use it both morning and night, since I'm afraid of breaking out, and I have a few tiny red dots that could be attributed to this. Still, I haven't technically broken out, and my face doesn't get red and irritated, so that's a big plus. And the smell rocks! Overall, I think this might be a winner, but it's too soon to tell.

*edit* I still love this product, as it didn't make me break out, but I think it's too moisturizing, as I'm looking shiny after application. I think I'll stick to using it around my eyes.

This is now officially my staple night moisturizer and can't beleive there aren't any reviews for it yet as I feel like myself I would have never thought to try it yet alone think it was soo good! I have the pickiest skin on the planet when it comes to moisturizers. My skin is pretty normal and clear (slight tzone oiliness in summer) but has always been super clog prone which is a pain in the ass and one wrong move aka 2 seconds without washing my face or using the right moisturizer and I'm breakotu city lol. Anyhow I use a spf for my morning moisturizer and can't beleive how well this works as a night cream. I would have never thought to use this as I have not been into any drugstore products in years and ofcourse as my skin is so clog prone this Cream was the last thing I thought to ever try but randomly did when it was on sale as I love the fresh citrusy smell of the garnier face products. Anyhow fell in lovee since then as even though the cream looks thick it is super light at the same time. It spreads easily and somehow feels like it will look too greasy yet magically sinks in in seconds and leaves your face matte, glowing, and smooth as silk. Definitely was a huge shocker to me as I have tried too many high end moisturizers to count and no matter all their claims of being non pore clogging, light, yata yata they all would leave me greasy, broken out, or eventually dry me out due to harsh ingredients and considering how expensive moisturizers are for the tiniest amount I really was about to give up on a staple moisturizer. This is official HG status for me now and lvoe that it's super cheap, comes in a great size taht lasts forever, smells delicious, leaves my face so fresh adn smooth as silk, and on top of all taht has amazing ingredients which is really rare for a drugstore item. I really wish this jar version had spf as then I could use it as my morning moisturizer too sicne sadly the garnier spf lotion in pump form doesn't have the same great formulation as this and leaves your face super shiny and sticky. Recommend this to absoltuely every skin type as it's rich enough for dry skin yet doesn't clog pores and is super light at the same time for every other skin type. :)
