This cleanser is amazing! I'm on my second tube and can honestly say this has saved my skin. I suffered with cystic acne on my jawline and chin but after using this consistently I've noticed a huge reduction in flare-ups. Leaves you skin feeling fresh and super clean but never tight or uncomfortable. Highly recommend!

I had a bigger sample of this. I think it was 1oz. One thing I really liked about it was that because the texture was thicker, I used less of the product. That sample lasted me 2 1/2 weeks of twice daily use and I was impressed!

I have pretty hearty skin, it rarely breaks out from products and if it is irritated, it just gets flaky, but that doesn't happen often. I had no problems with this.

I normally use Cetaphil because it works and its cheap. I don't really find much sense in buying expensive cleansers so I took 1 lippie off for price.

I liked it for my combination skin. It felt clean but not stripped after washing. I could only see myself buying it if it was on sale. It would be nice for traveling because I would have less worries of it spilling in my bag than runny Cetaphil and a little goes a long way.

This is not for combination/dry skin.

This made my face feel tight, so I took off some stars. I guess if someone had super-oily skin, this might help. On the other hand, if this is as harsh as I think it might be, it would't be good for oily skin either.

Spend your money on something else.

At first I really hated this face wash, I broke out pretty bad and i thought it was all because of this face wash. I bought the small sample size at sephora near the check out desk even though I usually buy the fresh soy cleanser (my HG) I had a small breakout happening and the girl helping me out recommended it. When i first tried it I gave it a week and I was breaking out like crazy it totally aggravated my small breakout, I stopped using it and it has been sitting in my cabinet for probably 2 months... The other day I ran out of my fresh soy face cleanser and i was leaving on a trip early the next day so i packed it anyway because i needed something. Let me tell you, I am now in love! I think i was doing 2 things wrong..,. #1 this cleanser cant remove makeup, like not even a stitch, I use an oil cleanser before hand like DHC oil cleanser or when im low on $ the Garnier oil cleanser and then I cleanse after with checks and balances and my face is soooooo smooth and hydrated, totally clean. #2 This wash is too harsh to use with my clarisonic and I was using my clarisonic with it every time (sometimes twice a day, which I never do, way too irritating) probably to over compensate for the fact it wasn't removing my face makeup properly.

All in all a good cleanser but definitely can be a little harsh if you use too much, If you bought it and it isn't working definitely try using an oil cleanser or makeup remover before (this has totally transformed my face and helped my breakouts)

Hope this helps!

My mom got me this cleanser back in the winter and I just recently got around to finally trying it out. I normally steer clear of cleansers with any essential oils in them 'cause they tend to break me out but I felt like I should try it as my mom had spent her money on it. I like that a little bit does go a long way, it really does foam up a lot!! And I also like that there is not much fragrance to it, I can't really handle products with with a lot of fragrance in it. So everything about this product seemed fairly good, except for the fact that it broke me out badly. I have small pimples ALL over my forehead and some on my cheeks (where I barely breakout) and on my chin as well. I figure it's definitely due to the oils in this product, I should've known better. I gave it 3 lippies because everything else about it is good. I do recommend it to people who are not at all bothered by essential oils but I just know that I can't and won't be using it again.

I have really sensitive acne-prone skin, and I tend to treat the sensitivity more because anything for acne dries my skin out too much and makes it more red. So I currently use the mega mushroom cleanser from origins which I love but now I'm needing something to sort out my spots and blackheads. I received a sample of this checks and balance in Boots and after using this twice now I must say I'm really impressed. It lathers really well so you don't need much at all and my skin is really left feeling balanced, clean and not dry. I think I need to alternate between this and the mega mushroom cleanser perhaps, but I would recommend this checks and balance cleanser for those with sensitive combination skin as it does a great job.

I'm a huge fan of Origins products because they consistently deliver and this one was no exception. I have severely dry, sensitive skin due to chronic medical conditions but have used this back when I had very oily skin and it worked equally well. It is definitely the foamiest, frothiest face wash I have ever come across. It cleanses the skin thoroughly without leaving it tight or dry afterwards. There aren't any frills to it, it's just thoroughly cleansing. The only problem I have is that it doesn't take off mascara. All in all, it's a really great cleanser if you want thoroughly cleansed skin without any dryness. I fully recommend it.

I got a kit with this cleanser, the origins gin-zing moisturizer, night-a-mins moisturizer and the gin-zing eye cream at Sephora as a gift. I really had just wanted the eye cream because it actually works extremely well for dark circles but I figured I'd give their other products a go at the same time.
I found the cleanser extremely drying for my combination and sometimes sensitive skin even though it is marketed for all skin types. It frothed up quite well though so you really don't need to use a lot of it and smelled pretty good as well.
Using it in conjunction with the moisturizers made my skin break out AND made it extremely dry at the same time. I discontinued use after a week of hoping it would get better and my skin almost instantly returned to normal. I think it would be better as marketed directly towards oily skin types.
The Origins brand isn't cheap and I would suggest getting the sample kit like I did if you want to try it out and are worried about breakouts/dry skin etc.

I love this product! I have combo skin (oily t zone, dry elsewhere) and this seems to do a good job for both issues, making my skin feel refreshed and the right amount of clean after using. I have cycled through many cleansers over the years, but I'm sticking with this one...its a little more than I would usually spend (I stick to drugstore brands...aveeno, cetaphil, neutrogena) but this thing lasts forever that it is so worth the price you pay!!!

Also, I like that it isn't all perfumy and stuff...another plus.

This cleanser is average it does cleans the skin when you don't have any makeup or skincare on.This is not strong enough to get everything out of pores not even layer of skincare/moisturizer..... Not good for super sensitive acne prone skin. This made my cheeks super dry and red also it dulls the complexion making it look old.
