I LOVE Little Black Dress - my first smudge pot and I'm in love. I thought it would be black with a hint of purple, but the purple glitter overpowers the black base which I really like. It's perfect as an eyeliner or a base and it reminds me of MAC's Young Punk when used wet.
I find application easy, and no migration.. takes a few seconds to dry but when it does it stays in place. A fantastic product!

My dislike for this product is based on personal preference.

A friend got this for me as a gift, knowing I am a die-hard devotee of Smudge Pots. I dislike glitter (ANY glitter) in my eye makeup, but I read that the purple glitter was very fine, so I figured I'd give it a whirl anyway.

As it turns out, the glitter overpowers the black base. I applied a few layers and still could not get it black enough. It just looked too 'soft' for me. Disappointing, because the glitter itself didn't actually look too bad. Additionally, the glitter made the application a bit more difficult than regular Smudge Pots, since it clumped on my brush a bit. Handed this product off to another friend who adores it.

Ok, for starters, I absolutely love smudge pots, so it goes without saying that as far as the product goes, I love this. Great consistency, great staying power (even on my oily lids), great color! This is black with fine, purple glitter. It looks really nice on my fair skin and brown eyes. It stays put really well with very little smudging throughout the day. These are great eyeliners.

The only reason I would not repurchase is because it will take me so long to use up this pot I am sure I will have some new eyeliner to be 'lusting' over!

I love Stila products and do have a bit of a problem with the smudge pots - I have Kitten, Barbie Purple Pumps (absolute fav), Black Cat and now this one.

When I first tried it out of the pot on the back of my hand I did freak a tad as was very glittery and I am 36, a little bit of glitter is OK but this was potential overload. But, once on is very subtle (but buildable, could be less subtle) and I even wore it to work without freaking everyone out.

It is a soft black but not as soft as Black Cat (which I have sold onto a friend as even I think maybe 2 black smudge pots might be crossing a line LOL).

I always use the #28 brush to apply as a liner ot shadow. Have not yet tried this as a shadow - might have a go for a party tonight.

It's quite rare for me to love a product (I'm a very picky person :)), but I'm in love with this liner! I have quite a few gel liners from BB, MAC , R&R, Stila and some Asian brands and this is the best one I have out of all of them. The previous reviews describe the color perfectly: it's a soft black, nowhere near as harsh as MAC's Blacktrack, with tiny pink/purple glitter. I really dislike it when companies describe gel liners as "this color with this other color undertones or this other color specks/glitter" and then you put it on and it's all one color, flat and boring. This lives up to the description and you can actually see the pinkish glitter sparkle, but it's no garish sparkle, just a soft, subtle one, IMO.
The texture is quite nice: not too creamy as BB and MAC liners can be sometimes, but not too dry like some other Stila smudgepots are (the grey one). I'm not too happy with the Barbie packaging (I don't like Barbie in general, and I definitely don't wanna see her winking at me off the top of the liner :P), but since I love the actual product, I'll live with the silly packaging. I'd definitely repurchase if I ever ran out.

I LOVE Little Black Dress! This is a great eyeliner. It's a black color with specks of pinkish/purple glitter. At first glance it looks like a dark purple/eggplant color. Once you dip your brush in you can see the glitter. I use this mainly as an eyeliner. I haven't really tried it as a base yet but as an eyeliner it's great. It's great when I want to venture from doing the basic black liner. It gives my eyes a little pop. The glitter is not garish but it gives a nice sparkle. The liner dries pretty quickly and is very smudgeproof. It is definitely one of the nicest eyeliners that I own.

The little jar is so cute! Thats the main reason I bought this. However the product is great. its very versatile. I use it as a liner, a cream shadow & a base.

It really reminds me of MAC Young Punk mes. If you missed out on that, you need to try this as an eyeshadow. They are very similar colours.

First off, I love the Barbie packaging which was really the reason why I bought this gel liner to begin with. The color is really great though, it's black with purple shimmer. It lasts a long time, so it's not exactly easy to remove. I only need a very small amount because if you use too much it can get very clumpy looking because of the shimmer, not as smooth as mac trackline but i would definitely buy again because of the fun combo, but I probably won't need to because there is just so much product and a little really does go a long way!

this is my very first gel liner, i purchased this because its so unique plus its Barbie packaging, its black with purple and pink glitters...you can't see the glitters from afar...i use it everytime i go out...if not this being limited edition i would definitely repurchase but i don't see myself using this up coz you only need a very small amount...just store properly to prevent drying...

I love this product. Stila smudge pots are one of the products that redeem Stila in my eyes. I am not a huge fan of Stila- I remain a NARS girl at heart. However this product is outstanding in terms of its durability. I can wear the smudge pot all day with little to no smudging or running. It can flake off a bit but you have to really wrk at rubbing oyur eye to get this to come off. I love black and purple and this combination of black base and purple/magenta glitter is the perfect complement to many of my eye looks. The only thing I do not really care for is the packaging. I wish they had kept the pot itself more simple. I do prefer my packaging to remain a basic black rather than have some catchy image on it. All in all, I would recommend this to anyone even if you are not a Barbie fan.

I bought the other day in Little Black Dress and it has become my new favorite gel eyeliner, which is saying a lot because I have many different gel/cream liners from every brand. The color is what drew me to this product in the first place. It is black with tons of fuscia colored glitter. The description says the glitter is pink, but it's more of a hot pinky purple glitter, but it's still gorgeous. I use an angled liner brush or a thin liquid liner brush to apply this to my upper lashline. It is very creamy and goes on very smooth and even. You can create a precise, fine line or a smudged, smokey line, depending on the look you're going for. The best thing about Stila smudge pots is that they don't budge and they are truly waterproof and long lasting. The packaging is super cute with the blinking Barbie eye. I would definitely recommend buying one of these limited edition smudge pots before they sell out.

Stila does it again with another fantastic liner! Love this smudgepot...the color is a black with purple/pink microglitter. Hard to spot the glitter unless you are super close, but even from far away, it makes your eyes stand out more. Love Stila smudgepots and love this color! I will say though that the glitter, after maybe five or six hours on, does have a tendency to have some fallout right below the eye, but it is barely noticeable unless you're up close. Too bad this is LE!

My initial reaction upon looking at LBD in the pot was that it was nothing special. In the pot it looks like a boring black/deep purple, with some slight purple and pink shimmer.
I had initially stopped at Sephora only to pick it up, but upon seeing it was put off. Was this color really that great?
I decided to try it anyway, and now I'm really glad I did!

Let me start by saying there aren't many colors that really make eyes that are black/brown "pop" while still looking natural and work-appropriate. However, the subtle pink glitter and deep purple/black base of this product make it perfect for the task. I work in a conservative lab environment, and from a distance this liner looks like a soft black on me- perfect for work, while still maintaining the purple hue that makes my eyes stand out. Used all over or as a base, the micro glitter really stands out quite a bit more, making it the perfect all over wash for a more dramatic look.

This was my first experience with a smudgepot, so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. Especially since other gel liners (BB comes to mind) last longer than pencil on me, but still fade or fall throughout the day.
I was amazed that LBD dried instantly (which actually isn't that great for those who want to smudge it) and didn't move at all throughout the day. No primer required on these!

This eyeliner is hot! I absolutely love this color! It's a basic black with hot pink and purple sparkles! woot! yay barbie! This will be my go to black gel liner now (Sorry MAC blacktrack fluidline!) because it gives you that extra oomph. Its like blacktrack and the LE MAC Rave eyeliner had a baby! And yes you can see the glitter, not from ten feet away though of course. The packaging is super cute and I love the Barbie pick on the cap. I like that its a good sized product, I always lose my fluidline. This is my first smudgepot so we will see how it wears, but so far so good! A tad expensive, I wish it was like $16 or $18 but whatever. I liked this color the best, its the most wearable of the 3 barbie ones, although I do like the purple heels as well. I did notice a little glitter fallout, but nothing big. I've never seen a color like this for gel eyeliner and I love it for going out at night, and giving a twist to the classic black cat eye. If you like purple glitter in your eyeliner--go buy! Stores aren't gettin much stock of these.

As soon as I saw a swatch of the new Barbie Loves Stila Little Black Dress smudgepot I called my nearest Sephora and ran down to get it. I love anything with shimmer in it especially if it's purple shimmer so I was ecstatic when I saw that there was a smudgepot released with just that! First off I have to comment on the packaging. I was a huge Barbie fan as a kid but grew out of that pretty quickly. I wasn't overly thrilled that Stila was doing a collection with Barbie but I grew to like it. The smudgepot packaging makes up for all of that. It's so overly cute. The top has a picture of Barbie's eye that winks at you as you move the pot up and down. I would've bought the smudgepot regardless of this but this just makes me like it all the more! Now the color isn't really a black with pink shimmer like it says on stila.com but rather it's a black with the most gorgeous purple shimmer. I would maybe call it a pinky purple. What's amazing about this is that the shimmer actually shows up on the eye unlike other gel liners *cough Blitz & Glitz cough.* The shimmer in this smudgepot is just right...not over the top, not subtle. It's just right and is simply gorgeous. Little Black Dress is the perfect name for this smudgepot because it would look simply amazing with a black dress. I haven't been wearing many black eyeliners lately because they tend to look too harsh on me but I changed my mind for LBD. This is going to be absolutely fabulous for fall/winter. Also the staying power is great. I wore this all day today for over 10 hours in 105+ degree heat and it didn't budge. I checked up on it since I was going to dinner with a friend and didn't have to fix anything about it or reapply. The formula is also super easy to work with. I use this with my MAC 210 eyeliner blush to create a perfect line. For the most part I wear smudgepots as eyeliners but they can also be used as eyeshadows. My lids are very oily so unfortunately I can't wear these as eyeshadows but I've heard that they still don't budge even on the lid. The closest eyeliner I have to this is MAC Miss Fortune Pearlglide liner which was LE. I swatched both together and they're almost exactly alike except that LBD has the black undertones which make it more sultry. I don't wear Miss Fortune that often because it lacks this black undertone and therefore doesn't show up that well on my top lid (so I tend to wear it as an e/l on my bottom lid). I'll be reaching for LBD ALL the time. I've been waiting for something like this for a looong time. Wouldn't it be great if Stila did a whole line of these like a deep green with gold shimmer or a black with teal shimmer? One can only dream right? For now I'll stick with my LBD.
