I can't believe I *almost* swapped this one because it just seemed a bit out of my "comfort zone". I've been experimenting a lot with "color" (used to only do pales/sheers on tips). On a whim, I decided to fling this one on & was mesmerized instantly. Needless to say, this is a permanent fixture in my stash for SURE!

It's purple, it's blue, it's a chameleon in a bottle, and the complexity of this shade becomes more dramatic if it's layered (i.e over a purple cream, a blue cream, etc). The application as with most RBL's is flawless. Wears well, and is different enough to actually be a conversation starter (several comments the 1st time I wore it) and despite having a ridiculous 950+ polishes, I can honestly say, this sucker is definitely unlike anything else in my stash. I'm a sucker for duochromes, and while shade-wise this was a little outside my comfort zone, it was love at first sight the moment I put it on. SO glad i gave this one a chance, stunning for sure!!!

W-O-W .... I think I just fell in LOVE! I never in a million years would have thought i could fall head over heels in love with a polish, but Scrangie is a total STUNNER, and in my stash of 950 polishes, is surprisingly unique. I have nothing else even closely comparable.

It's part purple, part teal blue that flashes between the 2 shades depending on how the light hits it. I layered it over Zoya Mira (mid toned purple cream) and have NOT stopped looking at my tips since. I've had this shade for at least a year, and always felt intimidated to try it. Tonight, I was feeling bold thanks to a glass of Cabernet, and thought what the hell, I'm flinging this sucker on. Now, I'm kicking myself for not having tried it sooner. Absolutely gorgeous, unique, bold, but surprisingly, not at all tacky. A huge winner for me!

I absolutely LOVE this color...enough to pay a lewd amount to grab a bottle on ebay. I was looking for a good butter London "Prince's Plum" dupe...and I believe I found it. I've seen the reviews that say that the duochrome is gone once you put this color on your nails...but I gotta say that didn't happen for me. It's gorgeous! A resemblance of beatle wings just like it's supposed to be. I get the purple base, and the blue/green shift within that. Maybe it needs a top coat? I dunno...I just know I would buy this color again if it wasn't discontinued. Goes on well...lasts about as long OPI does on my nails. I DO with the brush was wider...doesn't seem to cover enough at once. Other than that...fan for life. :)

I purchased this when RBL had a BIB sale. Great color but I didn't get the duochrome finish I liked when you look at the polish in the bottle. I ended up swapping it for an other RBL polish. Great opacity in 3, but I wear all my RBL with 3 coats.

I get perfect opacity with 2 coats, and since it's a BiB color, I will be buying a backup bottle! I love how the green shimmer comes through on the nail, and how easily the formula applies. For anyone who is willing to pay the HE price, I highly recommend Scrangie.

like many of you i find scrangies site absolutely outstanding as a reference for polish swatches., and was rather slow to find out about not only his color, but rbl polishes in general. but - after having a prior order cancelled on a different e-tailer *and creating a really close tweaked franken - see turtlebeautys' site* i was even more determined that i was going to own this polish - regardless - and i've got to say that i am sadly, disappointed with it.
in the bottle - color wise - it is truly nothing short of phenomenal. it reminds me of a more complex zoya adina, similar only in concept - not so much in execution. adina is a far different tone of green on purple than this one. much warmer.
but when scrangie dries the magic dies., it literally gets muddy on the nail. major MAJOR fail for me. the overall dried finish was good though. but it was difficult also - even with the most gentle/even hand to avoid dragging/bald spots during application and the brush just would not hold enough color to cover the surface for one coat. totally not acceptable either. for polishes priced at $18.00 for .4 oz-12 ml. i expect nothing short of perfection.
altho i have some issues with it, it will remain in my collection., purple fiend that i am, but overall - for the $ - i definitely would not re-purchase this one.

This is a great purple with a little green shimmer, most noticeable in daylight. High shine. Many online reviews say 2 coats to opaque, but with this particular RBL polish, I've found 3 is better and lasts longer.

Rescue Beauty Lounge's Scrangie is a medium purple polish with a heavy teal green/blue iridescent shimmer. The application on this was absolutely horrible with streaking and bald patches on the first and second coats but by the third everything was opaque and smooth. The drying time was average but it did seem to try to a semi-dull finish. The color on this polish is stunning outdoors and under fluorescent lighting when you can see the teal shimmer really pop; however, under ambient indoor lighting the green blends with the purple and makes the color very muddy and the iridescence is basically indescernible. For the price of this polish ($25.50 after shipping) I am highly unimpressed because of the application problems and the semi-dull finish. (It is shiny after a topcoat but not so much before.) Although this color is unique in my collection, I would not buy it again.

This is a pretty color, and on the whole I'm glad I have it because it's pretty for toes in the summer, but the price tag is hefty. I was really expecting an exceptional formula and for the color to be outstanding, but it's just.. nice. I expected more.

First off, that brush is to die for. Zero cleanup! However it took 3 careful coats to get opacity. The color to me looks dirty. I like that it's a blue based purple and the green shimmer is interesting but somehow looks odd on, not pretty. Even after SV this is still not very shiny either. Love you Scrangie and RBL but this was a fail for me.

I paid $9 for this during the 1/2 off sale and I wouldn't say it was worth it. It's the same as OPI DS Royal (which I think is discontinued) but the base is more dense and it has finer blue green shimmer. The OPI one is prettier and has glittery bits, but it's more sheer too. I put the Scrangie on first and then the DS Royal over it for the best look. I'll post a pic soon.

I had extremely high expectations for this color. In fact, I was lemming it for a long time. When I finally got it, it just wasn't as unique as I expected. It felt kind of dull and flat (not shiny or at least it just didn't have that remarkable, RBL "twinkle" that I experienced with other polishes from this brand) even when I looked at it in the sun. It also applied a bit patchy on the first 2 layers. It's not terrible and if you love blue-based purples, go for it - I just wouldn't have bought it if I saw it in person beforehand.

I wanted to love this color, but in person, it just fell a bit flat. It's stunning in the sunlight, but unfortunately, I don't live or work outside. Under indoor lighting, it just looks like a midtone blue-ish purple. Neither clashed with nor flattered my NC45 skin. Usual excellent RBL formula and wear, though I did find that this color isn't as glossy as my other RBLs - top coat is a must.

I absolutely adore this polish! When I first saw this details about the collaboration between RBL and bloggers, I knew that the results would be amazing. Scrangie's color did not disappoint. It is a gorgeous cool-toned purple that is just packed with blue-green shimmer. No pictures do this polish justice. The only reason why I hesitated in buying this polish for so long was the outrageous RBL price, so when I heard about the half-off sale earlier this month, I jumped all over it. If you can still get your hands on this, do it, I wish I had back-ups.
EDIT: Nearly five days after application I have zero chips and only a hint of tipwear. I am impressed with RBL's formulation.

The formula is wonderful as far as application, though it is a 3 coater for those that don't like more than 2. The color is beautiful the perfect purple with gorgeous green/blue shimmer that almost looks duo chrome. I love it!

vbie3714 already covered all the release info in her review, so I'll keep mine short & sweet.

Scrangie is hot. 2 coats went on like butter, and covered perfectly. I'm not sure where these application issues some people have mentioned came from! The colour is fantastic and totally unique - a mid-range purple with an amazing greeny-bluey shimmer to it.

I got more compliments in one day wearing Scrangie than I have in a long time on any other polish. It's well worth the $18 from RBL.

When this came out I was so excited. In photos it looked so gorgeous I knew I had to buy it despite the hefty price tag and high shipping charge. I put in a preorder and waited eagerly for it to arrive.

The first bottle I got had serious streaking issues. After contacting RBL I was advised that some bottles contained brushes with bristles stuck together and this was causing heavy streaking. I was given instructions how to fix the brush (by pressing the bristles in a paper towel saturated with acetone). I am surprised that an expensive polish like this arrived with such a strange issue, one I have never encountered even at the drugstore level, but RBL's instructions did fix this matter.

Anyway, the real disappointment was the color itself. After three coats all I get is a blackened purple, not the mid range lovely blue-purple-green I see on others when looking through photos. In blaring sunlight I do notice some sparks of green and blue but basically, in regular and lowlight conditions (that is, indoors or shade) it is nothing but an ordinary blackened purple.

Upon learning I was unhappy with the color RBL did try to help by sending me a replacement bottle and a prepaid mailer to return the first one. The second bottle is only marginally lighter than the first. Sadly, it's still an uninteresting blackened purple.

I did start to wonder if perhaps there was a lighter run of this product and I was unlucky enough to keep getting something from a darker production line. Ji Baek of RBL says there is only one color. I don't understand why I cannot seem to achieve the lighter shade I see in pictures. Definitely not worth $18 plus shipping for a color that is easily duplicated by many other brands at a fraction of the cost.

This polish is fantastic! It is one of my favorite colors - top 20 - and that means something when you have 300 colors! It is $$ for me, but I decided to get it because it is unusual and in the hopes other companies will let Scrangie create more colors. It applied evenly, very nice consistency, good brush, and I like the bottle shape. But the best thing is the color. Purple in some light, darker purple in others, blue in some, blue-green-purple in others. Simply fantastic!
