Okay, to each their own. I LOVE this brush--5 stars hands down. I ordered the RT core collection specifically for the buffing and bronzing brushes and while I was waiting for them to arrive, I happened to see this brush at my local dollar tree. I decided to give it a try and now I actually prefer it over my RT brush. Yes mine was kind of stiff but nowhere like a broom.. that would be painful? That being said, you need a light hand when applying bronzer as it can pick up quite a bit of product. It's not super dense but it's also not super thin. I think it has the right density as it applies just a light dusting (with a light hand) which is exactly what I need to contour my fair skin. It is also easy to build up coverage for those who want darker lines. I can't tell you all how much I love the shape. My RT is round which makes it hard for precise application. This brush is flat and tapered so I just run it horizontally across my cheek and get the perfect contour with no extra blending. As far as shedding goes, I haven't noticed any at all. I am sure with continued use it won't take long, but as of now-ZERO. For $1, what do you expect? Anyone who has ever bought E.L.F. products knows they can be hit or miss. For me, this is a definite hit and I actually have two of these brushes now. I searched foreverrrr for a brush that would give me the contour I wanted and now use this brush everyday. Even though I LOVE LOVE LOVE my RT brushes, the contouring brush couldn't compete.

This brush is a major joke! it feels and looks cheap-when I say cheap I don't mean the price. The bristles are scratchy and hard. It doesn't contour at all-sadly this is a piece of junk. Even for a $1 I still paid way too much. E.L.F products for the most part are really good even the ones that only cost $1 but this is just bad. I even tried washing it and conditioning it and it made no difference. I just flushed $1 down the toilet. I can't return it b/c Target is not taking back anything that has to do with cosmetics open or not and even with a reciept. If I could give this a double 0 I would.

This brush was useless to me. It didn't pick up any color and when it did it wouldn't show up on my face. It's a little scratchy and doesn't feel pleasant. I think it has shed before and the handle is a little loose. It had a good shape to contour, but it didn't work for me.

This brush literally sucks. I bought cause I was new to brushes and wanted something cheap and affordable. For a dollar it wasn't really worth buying. The hairs kept falling out constantly and it rough. Im not saying I put it on harshly, but even when I just brush it on my hand it feels poking at me. I don't recommend this brush at all unless your cheap.

The shape of this brush is the only thing I like- it is ideal for applying contour colour to the hollows of my cheeks. I use better quality brushes to blend out that contour & apply blush. The brush feels very rough and the hairs are all tangly.

This brush is so bad I could laugh. I paid $1 for it thankfully..So some of the hairs on the brush were straggly and frizzed out. It doesn't hold anything it is just complete garbage! The worst part had to be when I washed the brush and all of the stupid red hairs of the brush started losing their color and my water I was using to clean the brush would not stop turning pink. Soooo I threw it out! Please do not waste your time with this cheap thing. Do something better with your $1...which would be - ANYTHING!

This has the same problem as the total face brush, it's the same bristles just in a different form of brush, the bristles are synthetic and cheap, they scratch and irritate my skin. This is such crap, I'm glad I got this as a gift set from a friend rather then spending my own money on this

Got this because it was so cheap. Absolutely hate it. It's scratchy and sheds like crazy. Plus, upon the first watch, the dye ran. Don't bother with this brush.

You're way better off spending a few more dollars and getting the elf studio line one instead. This brush is really small and doesn't pick up much product, it's also a bit "too soft" for transferring product onto the face if that makes sense..

What's with all the bad reviews? It's not the best, and I will not be repurchasing (I'll get the studio verson instead). But I use this for my blush, and I don't find it scratchy at all. It also doesn't shed. But maybe I got a better one than some people did, because sometimes that's the case with elf brushes. The one I have is super soft! This is a good buy for people who cringe handing over money for brushes like me, but the studio version is only two dollars more (three dollars), so I'll spend the extra money and get that on instead.

So, this is a pretty decent brush considering the price. Now i got into brushes for a little bit and bought a whole bunch and kinda pushed these to the side but recently, Ive been using this brush on a daily basis and realized its not as bad as some people say. But it might be because I dont own Mac or other HE brushes.. So my expectations are not super high.
~~~~~~~~~~PRICE & AVAILABILITY ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Elf Professional Bronzing Brush can be found on the eyeslipsface website as well as some Target, Kmart, Dollar General & Sears Grand stores. This is very similar to the Elf Professional Blush & Bronzer brush that also cost a $1. Yes this little baby only cost 10 dimes or 100 pennies (yes we dont get to use pennies that much anymore) The Elf Professional brush line cost $1 and there are some hits and misses and i think if you want a simple multipurpose brush, this may work for you.
~~~~~~ BRUSH PERFORMANCE & USES ~~~~~~~
The brush is a tad scratchy at first but after a few uses & washes, it softens up. It hasnt bothered my face at all. This is a great brush for applying a light touch of contouring powder (great for pale girls like me that dont want a super dark contour), applying a light dusting of bronzer or blush as well as for powder highlighting. It picks up product good, i do tap off excess easily & it applies & slightly blends out at the same time. I esp like it for contouring & using it for my powder highlighters. It does not work with liquid or cream products since its not made of synthetic fibers. I do have to use a kabuki sometimes if i apply a pigmented color since i do have super pale skin. Its not the best brush but i do really enjoy it. Its great for those looking for a less dense/compacted brush for contouring, blush or bronzer. I use these brushes for day look or work & when i need something more dramatic or if Im going out somewhere, i may switch up to a more dense contouring brush but this one is great for me.
~~~~~~~~~~~ PACKAGING ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Elf Professional Bronzing Brush is from the $1 white handle line. The handle is a white/cream with silver metallic logo & brush name located at bottom of handle. The ferrule is silver and the bristles are natural hair dyed a reddish brown. The bristles are a little rough at first but will soften up a little. Nothing super bad at all. The dye will run a tiny bit the first one or two times they are cleaned. The Elf Professional brushes are somewhat inconsistent meaning you can pick up the same brush but it will be slightly different. I own 2 or 3 of these brushes and they are all a tiny bit different. The brush is a small semi dense angled brush. The bristles are not super dense or packed so they do move a bit. They arent super floppy & will hold up with application. I dont recall any hairs falling out with these. I have had a loose hair or two that i easily pulled out. These have held up well with use & washes.
Overall, this is a nice basic small angled brush that can be used for many different things. I love using it for my contouring since its small enough to give a more precise line that can then be blended out. Def a nice cheap brush!! There are two versions of this brush. Each one resembles each other. But both work great for me.
i have 3 of these. I think it is really soft for only $1, i was surprised. I use this for contouring. I find it to be the perfect shape! I just wish it wasn't as sparse. It does shed a little but it really doesn't bother me especially bc its only a a dollar. After a while the metal part broke off the wooden stick bc the glue dried out. That doesn't really matter bc i can easily glue it back and maybe even toss it out and get a few more.
I have the MAC angled blush brush, and have felt the Studio line's angled brush
The bristles in this aren't as soft as the Studio line, however, what I like better about this one is that it is not as dense. For my purpose (bronzer, some highlighters) this one is just perfect. I also have the MAC angled brush which is animal hair and denser than the E.L.F, but it doesn't apply in the same sheer way as this one does. I really like this brush and went back and bought a couple more so I can each one for a different thing.
What I've observed about the E.L.F. line is to take into account what purpose may suit it best, which may not always be what it is targeted for. Some people may not like a brush because it is too sheer, or not dense enough, but for other purposes or certain powders, it is absolutely perfect. For example, I have a mineral foundation that none of my brushes really applied very well (too cakey), but because the same brushes worked OK with other mineral brands, I was blaming those minerals for being cakey and not the brushes fault. But when I used the ELF kabuki, which is not as dense as regular kabukis, that mineral foundation went on beautifully. So what I've learned with this line of brushes is that what some people think of as a "fault" can actually be an asset for another purpose.
This brush sheds and is on the scratchy side as well. There are much better brushes out there than this one. I would certainly recommend passing this one up for sure.
I'd say this is my favorite brush even though it's the cheapest and not the best brush I've gotten, but I really like it!
I got it for SGD3, which is a steal! It's not very scratchy like many says it is, not the softest, but not scratchy. I like that it's angled and just the right size for contouring & blushes. It does shed, though, but it's so cheap I don't expect much :-) definitely will repurchase!
I know it's odd that I've rated everything about this product so poorly, but still indicated that I'd buy it again. So why is that? Because it's $1.00! For a buck, who cares? I wasn't looking for a bronzer brush at all. I basically just got it because I wanted to try on ELF brush because I'd heard so much about them, and had a hard time finding one. I thought it'd be rounder so I was taken aback when I opened it at home. When you look at it from the top, it's forms an oval, because it's got flat sides. (There's no way that this would be big or full enough to evenly distribute bronzer!) I read the other reviews and agree that the bristles fall out, but I expected that. I washed it and it hasn't fallen apart on me. I've been using the heck out of it for a week, probably more than any other brush I have. I've used it to contour just in the natural hollow of my cheekbones, apply blush on top, and distribute highlighter and it actually works it really well. If you want a brush that picks up a lot of product, you will absolutely hate this. But that's what makes it work for me and even though everything I know about makeup brushes tells me this is really bad quality, I still love it for being a strong multitasking workhorse of a brush.
