I thought i would love this eyeshadow, but with the price its not that bad, it goes darker on your eye than it looks. And it won't stay on for a long time with a primer. I don't really like this product and will not be buying again, its not terrible but not a must have!

Very disappointed by this product. The colour isn't at all pigmented and I wouldn't even classify it as amethyst. I also bought Raspberry, which is more of a muddy maroon, and also not pigmented at all.

This shadow is lacking pigmentation, which is a shame because it looks lovely in the pan. I'm not sure how I'm going to use it - I'm thinking I'll give it a go as a soft eyeliner. Maybe I'll even try it wet.

I love the packaging as it feels very sturdy. Also the mirror and little window is a nice touch. For the money I can't complain too much, but I wouldn't buy this particular shade again. I'd like to try a couple of the neutral shades of the Studio Line Single Eyeshadows though.

the color is really beautiful but it's not very pigmented. It looks much darker in the pan but it's great for a softer look which I do like. The only complaint that I really have is that there is a lot of fallout with this shade.

Not very pigmented. The $1 e/s quads are better, as are the beauty books. I'd skip this.

This color is gorgeous and really pigmented. I was surprised to find this shadow as well as 4 others from the Studio line at a Dollar Tree the next town over from where I live. I was so excited. This is a gorgeous red-toned purple. I use this to set any of my liquid purple liners, and it looks great. The red doesn't really transfer on me. so it just looks dark purple which I love. I only use this to set my liners though. I love it.

LOVE this color. I have green eyes so purple tones help enhance them. I ordered this and I was scared to try it but I am so glad I got it! It is highly pigmented and a great buy for sure! The only problem I have is that it is quite powdery, but that is it.

I was disappointed with amethyst. The colour is very flat and lacks pigmentation. It is matte so it makes for a good crease colour but I found blending of this shadow to be much more difficult. Also, there's something about this colour that just doesn't look right on my skintone. It looks like I have a black eye because this shade has those darker purple tones similar to bruises.

when it comes to elf eyeshadows I love the eye brightening quads. but when it comes to these studio single eyeshadows I have one word crap! these seem super pigmented & come in gorgeous colors BUT they fade away. I've never ever had an eyeshadow fade away! with eyeshadow primer they're very hard to blend & I use primer potion. so with them fading & not blending with primer potion! that spells out absolute crap to me. a true fail for elf with these eyeshadows

Of all the ELF studio shadows- this is my favorite. I'm not a fan of them, to be honest. But I DO like this eyeshadow because it can create a subtle smokey eye without too much drama (and thats how I like my makeup). Generally, I like the natural look, or subtle smokey eye, so this work great for that. I guess I like it because you can't make this look horrible with a heavy hand, so you can dab it on pretty freely and not worry about too much. It's a grey-ish purple so it doesn't look horribly vibrant and doesn't require too much blending.
The packaging is great, the price is cheap, but the actual shadow quality is pretty bad.
Don't know if I'd repurchase.

I hate to rain on everyone's parade, but this eyeshadow sucks. It looks really pretty in the pan--deep purple with small shimmer. But looks deceive you! It has a chalky texture that is hard to apply. The color is really a dirty purple with barely any shimmer. The pigmentation also really stinks. You really need to pack it in. Don't get this.

Finally found my evening shade of purple. Amethyst is very pigmented, goes on easily, blends well, and has a bit of iridescent shimmer. Be sure to tap your brush before applying or you will have quite a bit of fall off. This shadow is too dark for me to wear during the day. However, It works as an eyeliner and really makes my brown eyes POP.

There is plenty of product for $1.50 (50% off coupon), and the Studio packaging is black, sleek and looks much more expensive than it is. I bought a few other colors; I really like this shadow and will purchase this again...

I actually have this in every color, and I love how pigmented they are. There isn't a wide range of colors, but the ones in the line are nice. When applying these shadows, I don't have much problem with fallout. And for $3 there is PLENTY of product here. The packaging is nice, with a little window so you can see the color, and no sponge tip applicator, because I would just end up throwing that away. Overall these are great shadows for a great price, just wanting more colors!

Used with my urban decay primer potion and this eye shadow does the trick for any smokey eye! Great cheap buy.

I was dissappointed by all the colours from the Studio eyesadow line in general, these eyeshadows have poorer pigmentation than the regular $1 line unless you use a primer along with it. And even with a primer, the colour pay-off is just so-so. Compared to E.L.F's $1 line eyeshadows, the studio line ones are not worth the $3.

I really like this shadow - I am amazed at how much color applies to the lid! It has great payoff! It is a gorgeous color, dark purple. It has a hint of shimmer in the package but I don't see it much when it's on.

I paid the full price of $3 and I think it was worth every penny and more. If it had been $0.75 I would be ecstatis!

Only negative - it did crease. I will try it with a primer next time. It is beautiful with green eyes - a coworker who never wears makeup told me how much she liked my eyes that day and that they really "popped." (I wore it with L'Oreal HIP cream eyeliner in eggplant - very pretty combo!)

I purchased a 0.097 oz/2.75 g E.L.F. Studio Single Eyeshadow in Amethyst during E.L.F.'s 75% off Studio line sale (retails $3.00). I was disappointed when I discovered that the shade of purple did not match the one on the website. It's a lot darker, perfect for more conservative looks. I do however like the clear plastic on the lid which makes it easier to find colours without having to open the compact. This compact does not include an applicator, but a small rectangle mirror embedded into the underside of the lid.

PRODUCT INFORMATION: Beautiful soft texture that melts into the skin for a vibrant color that lasts. Convenient and easy to apply, just layer the color to achieve the desired intensity. Apply wet or dry for a fabulous look that never creases or fades.

DIRECTIONS: Blend color onto eyelid with an eyeshadow brush, layer on color for desired intensity. Apply dry for a more subtle look or wet for a dramatic look and a longer wear.

Overall rating: Overall, I consider this eyeshadow excellent, especially because of the low price.
Applied dry over UDPP: Deep dusky purple, close to UD Heist. Not as silky as Heist but fairly equal in color and pigmentation. Looks slightly shimmery in the pan but applies matte. Very dusty product but well pigmented. Lasted all day over UDPP.
Applied dry over UDPP Sin: Same shade as above, but with just a little shimmer to it :-) Lasted all day, too.
Where did I buy this: E.L.F. Web site.
Price: Just $.75 at the recent E.L.F. sale. Regular retail is just $3.00.
Packaging: Very sturdy black matte casing with snap-closed lid. Even has a bitty mirror in it. Typical double-ended foam applicator, which I never use anyway.
Would I buy again: Yes, if I ever use it up.
