I love this! I wear it almost everyday as an all over the lid color! It's not the easiest to blend if you don't know what you're doing but it's quite easy to use after a little bit of practice. I usually apply it with my fingers all over my eye shadow and apply a darker brown on the crease and the outer corners if i want a little bit more of intensity. I'm not sure if this is meant to be used as a base but it lasts pretty well on its own. I sometimes use a bit of UD potion primer if I'm going for a night out and am going to use more colors. The color itself it absolutely gorgeous such a pretty shimmery champagne. Flattering on every skin tone.

I bought this because I love the kitten color, but I don't like using the shadow all the time due to the fall out. I thought I would love this like my MAC Paintpots, but the consistency is a lot dryer and does not blend easily. It goes on a little patchy and once it dries, which is quickly, you are done trying to blend. Also, the product itself dries out in the pot faster than paint pots. I was incredibly disappointed in this product and I wanted to make it work, because I love the color. Maybe if they reformulated the product, I would check it out again, but until then I will not be repurchasing.

NW10-15 (neutral-cool toned, very fair), blue eyes, Color season is True Summer, Baumann Skin Type is OSPW.
I like using this as an eye shadow primer and brow highlighter. The formula is drier, thus harder to blend, than my favorite formula, Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadows. Hence the additional lippies off.
EDIT: after 1 year, this dried up : (

UGHHH!! This is a nightmare to blend on my eyelids! I tried it with an eyeshadow brush and my ring finger and NOTHING would blend it out. The consistency is awful as well, a lot more drying than I expected. The problem I have is that every time I apply it to my eyelids, the glitter tends to cake up on one particular area on my eyelid and it just doesn't look even :(. I really wanted to like this product but it's really bad...

This is one of my all time favorite all around products. It can be used as a face highlighter, (cheekbones, cupid's bow, nose) an inner corner or browbone highlight, an all over lid color or to line the bottom waterline. It's a beautiful pinky shimmery champagne colour that's flattering on a wide range of skin tones. Kitten is longwearing, buttery, and it applies smoothly. It lasts on my very oily lids for about 6 hours without creasing. I think that buying the kitten smudge pot would be a better value than the eye shadow. I'll continue to buy it forever.

I purchased this smudgepot before the shadow, with the intention of using it as a cream eyeshadow.
If you are going to do this, take my advice and just get the regular Kitten shadow!
The formulation is too thick and chunky and frosty, and does not apply or blend well to the eyelids. It works okay as an eyeliner but I don't really use it for this purpose much. I might try and use it more on my lower lashline just to use it up but I would not purchase again. Get the Kitten eyeshadow instead, it's incredible.

I really like this product used as an eye shadow.
When I first tried it I thought it was very thick to apply evenly, so I only used a little bit over Urban Decay primer potion and it slid very easily. Instantly it gave a very natural lift to my eye. It is natural yet it makes your eye look classy.
It can be used on its own as a natural summer look or with darker shadows on the crease for a more sofisticated effect. It is also perfect for the brow bone.

I love the Kitten eyeshadow, which is what drew me to try the Smudge Pot.
This is a cream eyeliner product, but my purpose in buying it was to use it as a cream eyeshadow/base. Unfortunately, it does not apply well on the lids at all. The consistency is very dry and full of chunks of glitter. On its own, it is impossible to blend. The glitter appears chunky and unflattering on the eyelids when you look up close.
This works ok as a shimmery base for light, similarly-colored shadows.
The color is beautiful and the products is long-lasting on my eyes, but the consistency of the product is too difficult to work with. It is horrible as a shadow; would likely be ok as a liner or highlight for inner corners of eyes.
Because there are many similar products out there with better texture, I will NOT be repurchasing this. It is not worth its $20 price.

I had been waiting for a very long time to try this product and unfortunately it was not what I was hoping it would be. The color is very pretty, very comparable to MAC's Bare Study (which is my HG one) but quite sheer in comparison and not as long lasting in my opinion.
I guess for the money ($20) I was expecting something better.
I will try to use it up but I won't repurchase.

My history with the color Kitten:
Stila kitten in the powder eyeshadow has been my favorite color for the past 3 years. Its my go to color for weddings, interviews, basically anytime where I needed to look brightened and just naturally beautiful. So Kitten on my skin (pinkish champagne beige) is virtually undupeable, most dupes are either too beige or too pink. But what I hate about the powder eyeshadow kitten is that it doesnt have a great staying power so i always needed a primer, which added to my routine.
Review for Kitten Smudgepot:
my prayers are answered, my favorite HG color (pinkish beige) in a smudgeproof, bullet proof, tears proof, sweat proof formula!! I ran to ulta to buy this. The quality control on the formula is so so, the SA showed me the tester and it was quite buttery, when I bought my smudgepot the formula was like clay feeling. So I went back and exchanged for another one, and the new one is buttery, so I have a feeling these smudgepots dry out fast. The formula itself when applied to the lids is blotchy on one swipe, and evens out on 2 or 3 layers with a flat brush, but it is not as smooth as MAC or Tarte. I would describe it as ELF cream shadow consistency. If you like more of a smooth finish, I really recommend Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin. Wearability wise, most eyeshadows melt off of me, I was able to wear this smudgepot for 6 hours before it started to wear off. The color is quite intense, and brighter than the Kitten powder eyeshadow.
Im loving this Kitten smudgepot. I hope it doesnt dry out.

A lot of other people are saying that this creased on them, but, I did not crease at all on me. I used primer underneath and a shadow on top and it looked lovely! I love layering things like Kitten, All That Glitters, or Naked Lunch on top! This also works well without using a powder on top as a nice shimmery wash of color.
I give it a 4/5 because I think it could be more pigmented, but it's still pretty good in my opinion!

Underwhelming product. Seriously. Don't even entertain the notion of purchasing this.
While it is a pretty pink champagne color, the amount of shimmer and glitter disgusts me. There is far too much, and it gets everywhere. Perhaps some women find errant shimmer beneath their eyes appealing. I certainly don't.
The product dries out very quickly, making application difficult. It quickly cakes on the eyelids, rendering it impossible to spread evenly with or without primer. In spite of this texture, it creases within 5-6 hours. Combined with a primer, I expect a better performance from a $20.00 eyeshadow.
Blacklisted.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the color of Kitten, which is why I bought this smudge pot. But goll-ey. this stuff creases and cakes like nothing I've ever worn. I won't be buying this again, but will likely buy a Kitten eye shadow and just wear it over a normal primer.

This was my first Stila purchase after hearing many good reviews about the smudge pot in Kitten. I am fair-skinned for Asian skintones and my lids are not oily.
The color looked like a pretty champagne in the pot and on the back of my hand, but somehow it turns out more like a shimmery silver on my lids, and it's way too light for my skintone... it was also dryer than what I expected, therefore looks a bit cakey on the lids. I tried to apply with a brush and my fingers, but got the same results. There are much better cream-shadows out there with gorgeous shimmers, a great example is the ones by Shiseido. Those are truly velvetty and never cakey, and feels much lighter on the lids than this product.
The packaging was nice, but too bad this did not work out for me... I will test out the kitten eyeshadow pan and see if that texture makes it a more workable product for me. But in terms of the kitten smudge pot, I wouldn't recommend it... and I'm not sure if it's just too light to be considered a champagne color on Asian lids... unless you are blessed with porcelain white skin. Also, for the 20-something dollars price-tag, I expected a better texture than this.
Decided to return this and will not try any other smudge pot just because of the poor texture. Maybelline makes better gel-eyeliners than these smudge pots by Stila.

All the raves about this product and the shade ... I just didn't like it at all. Not sure whether it is too shimmery or just not enough of an actual color but it didn't do anything for me. Give me a great MAC paint pot any day ... can't say I am a huge fan on Stila products anyway. Oh well, be careful before you invest in this product.

Stila Smudgepot in Kitten
Texture: Like others, I found this product difficult to work with. It is a bit dryer than I expected, not as creamy as MAC paint pots although I had heard that from pinkiecharm on Youtube.
I used both my fingers then a brush and with and without a primer. Sometimes it went on smooth other times it looked cakey.
Color: Pretty pink champagne color, however too much pink for me.

First off this thing smells like play-doh. It's not as creamy or slick as the Benefit creaseless creams, but I think that's because this is a cream to powder formula. They're really not kidding with that because you have to get it blended on your eye fast before it dries - after that it won't budge for anything. I like using this as a base usually, though sometimes i'll wear it alone. I'd only recommend wearing it alone if you have fair skin, as when I'm tan the light color looks kind of ridiculous on my lids.

The color is sooo pretty in the pot and I thought it would be perfect once I bought it. Once I tried it on, it looked really dry and crumbly on my lids. I tried putting a base under it, moustrizing my lid, applying a small amount, applying a thick amount. Nothing just seemed to work. Its a shame considering how pretty the color is. :(
