One word. Wow. The salesperson applied on my top and bottom lashes vertically and told me that the wand was great because it got literally get all the lashes.
My eyes were wide open (in a good way), my face was all lit up and I felt and looked much prettier.
My lashes are not exactly looong but they are in the fit it in the "good department" of natural lashes. This mascara made a huge difference, curling my lashes, lengthening them and it was easy to remove.
Amazing!

Oh, this mascara makes my eyelashes looong and defined. Beautiful! Every eye lash can be reached with the round brush. Too bad it smudges on my cheeks a little bit at the end of the day, but this is highly personal! One of my girl friends does not have the same problem.

I like this! My collection of beauty junk consists of, as my hubby would say, an "overabundance" (no such thing!) of mascaras, concealers (not that i have a ton to conceal but always looking for a good one for dark circles+dry skin), and skin care products. This has been one of the mascaras i've been reaching for the most lately. I haven't tried the original version so i don't have a basis of comparison but, to be honest, i don't care =) I like length in a mascara and don't care as much about volume and this baby definately gives me long make-you-wanna-flutter 'em lashes. I definately need a lash comb and it's NOT because it's clumpy but just to get the full lengthening and defining effect. I hardly repurchase mascaras because there are just too many of them i want to try but i just may with this one.. we'll see

I prefer the original version. Okay, that one didn't really have a lengthening effect, but I already have pretty long lashes so I dont need it. I bought it by accident anyway, didnt know they had a new one and thought I had the regular one.
I immediately realised I had another one when I used it. The substance is different and application didnt go as well as with the regular one. Eventhough I am used to the brush, since the original one is one of my favourites, this one needed more practice and dedication because the substance is thicker and stickier. It also takes longer to dry, so don't sneeze or move abruptly. During the day it also smudges much more than the other one.
The lengthening effect wasn't that amazing, the mascara is sticky and takes long to dry, definitley not better than the original. Won't buy this again, I'll stick to the original.

I really wanted to like it. The effect is nice, naturally looking but still massively enhanced "starry" lashes. Tha black (regular version) is pretty deep, too. Hovewer, it smudges badly on me. All I need to do is smile and I already have it stamped under my eyes, even if my makeup is set with a good amount of loose powder. So sad. :(

I've grown to like this mascara a lot! When I first put it on I was switching from Diorshow Black Out mascara which by comparison made this Givenchy mascara look very brittle and fake (not in a good way either), and it by no means gives a bushy or feathery lash effect! But that said, it does extend the lashes and seperate them quite considerably, so if you like quite a loud and dramatic look this could work for you! It doesn't look 'amazing' or make your eyes ten times more beautiful, but i'd still more often than not reach for this mascara over my more 'pretty effect' ones. The packaging is nice and the tube is very compact, which I like! I find the unusual round brush very likable and easy to use, however, on occassions when trying to pull out the brush its got stuck in the tube and was very messy to remove! But I have still repurchased this product since! I would say the tube lasts quite a while (about 6 months-with everyday usage).

I decided to try this just for fun and am SO disappointed. This is a clumpy, smudgy mess, even if you apply it slowly and carefully. I will never again stray from my beloved Diorshow Iconic...the best mascara in the world. Stay away from Givenchy and spend your money on Iconic!!

I actually won this particular mascara in a department store sweepstake. Don't think I'd ever purchased it myself. And don't think I will after my experience with it either. The brush, which is reminiscent of a medieval torture device, isn't to my liking at all. I just can't seem to master it. It takes way too much time and effort. However, it lengthens very well, but provides zero thickness, and my lashes don't end up looking very pretty at all. I get the results I want with a regular "old-fashioned" brush. Only 2 lippies from me.

I did not like this mascara at all. The brush was much too difficult and time consuming. This was returned to Sephora after 2 tries.

Sorry, wanted this one to work on my asian lashes, even with curling and bending over backwards...this did not work for me. Great formula, hard to use brush...Back to my HG Shiseido Lifting Mascara!

I think this is now my favourite ever mascara and I have tried loads as each time I replace a tube I tend to try another brand. The false lash effect from YSL is good, as is Dior Iconic and Diorshow Blackout for the effect of really sooty lashes but there is something about this one that gives really superlong, super glossy separated lashes that still manages to look (fairly) natural. I quite like applying it though it takes a bit more time and you need to work your way along the lashes but I think the finished effect is reallly worth it and it is great for my curly lashes in the corner. I really like the compact size as well.

It's not great but it's not horrible. I prefer the long curved wand. Using this ball-shaped wand helps me not rub it on my eyelid but I just don't like the result. It stays on pretty well, it volumizes and lengthens. However, its very clumpy at the ends and I have to run my fingers through my lashes every time. So messy. I apply about 2 coats but I can find the same result with any other brand. So far, I prefer the YSL mascara.

I have short lashes, on the sparse-ish side (the only thing I can say for them is that I never needed an eyelash curler - hey, I'm not a total freak), so any mascara that gives me length as well as volume is welcome. Problem is, I never get both benefits together. It's always long or volume, but never and/or. I have this mascara in the original version and it's a good volume-building mascara. This one (the Extension Effect) ALSO lengthens. I put on a layer, let it dry, and put on a second and even third layer. And it does the trick.
Does it make my lashes look 'fake'? No. Then again, you can't build something out of nothing (unless you're God), so I'm happy with the results I get. It IS pricey so I don't know that I'd buy it again. But if you feel like splurging - or you have no budget problems - give it a try.
Oh, and I don't know why people make such a tremendous fuss about the brush. There's nothing to it, really. It's just shorter than the average one. And it's good at reaching the small, corner eyelashes.

I was excited to try this mascara because I saw a makeup guru on YouTube rave about it and what it promises. However, I did not find the results to be better than regular shaped mascara wands. I have used many mascaras before including drugstore and department store brands and this mascara did not produce better results than other department store brands. It does lengthen my lashes but it lacks in the volumizing and thickening category. It does have good staying power and does not smudge even after a long day. However, it did not produce a "fan" based look. It takes more effort and time to apply also. So for the price and hype of this mascara, I am disappointed it did not perform better. I recently tried YSL's Faux Cils (the one in the gold tube) and that one is 10x better! I would not be purchasing this bomb-shaped mascara anymore ^_^;;

My review is for the Phenome'Eyes Effet Extension & Gloss Interdit Set available at Sephora for $28.
First off, let me say that this mascara is definitely not a beginners mascara. It takes time and patience, but the end results will knock your socks off.
I'd been wanting to try this mascara for awhile, but deep down, I really thought it was just another gimic, so when this set came out I thought, eh, what the heck...I'll give it a shot.
This arrived in the mail yesterday and I immediately tore the package open and ran to the mirror to try this. (previously having terrible luck with L'Oreals Telescopic I was a bit skeptical)
O-M-G, my lashes have NEVER looked so good! I almost cant believe it, because I've tried nearly every mascara Sephora and Mac offers and have never had these kind of results. My lashes are very light with average length and fullness. With 2 coats of this mascara, I have beautifully full, fanned out, long lashes.
I dont know whats in this stuff, but it truly gives the most incredible length I've ever seen.
I put 2-3 coats on about 10hrs ago and so far, no flakes or smudges. I'm not easily impressed, but this stuff is absolutely amazing.
The gloss is great too. Its not too sticky and it gives a nice MLBB look. It has some multi-dimensional sparkle, but its not the least bit gritty, more like a light shimmer.
I hope they keep this set around for awhile because I would def. repurchase...with or without the gloss.
I think after trying Fresh, Dior, YSL, Chanel, Mac, and nealy all of Sephoras, my search for the perfect mascara has finally ended.
Pick this up...you will not be dissapointed.

I am sorry, but anyone who says they do not like this, either has no clue how to put it on, or has never used it. because its amazing. My initial concern is that the black at the test counter looked a bit gray in bottle, but it was just a weird tester thing, it goes on black. and wow does it stretch out my lashes. I have an adhesive allergy and cannot wear falsies. This is the closest second. It does come in quite a few colors as far as mascaras go and volumizes and lengthens my lashes really well.

After reading good reviews about this mascara, I decided to try it out. I was sooooo excited to get it in the mail and when I put it on, I was totally bummed. It's not a BAD mascara by any means, it just isn't worth the price. I literally did a test to see if I could notice a difference between this mascara, and my $5.00 Prestige mascara, and I honestly couldn't tell you which mascara was used on which eye. So yeah, sure if you want to spend $23 dollars extra on a mascara that is no better than your cheap drug store makeup, then I say go for it! It's your money. I will spend good money on GOOD products that I feel are worth it. This unfortunately, is not one of them.

It didn't give any length to my lashes and most of them were all stuck together, it didn't separate them very well... I know the results are different for everybody tho :/ but didn't work for me

Do I love this mascara? Yes. Damnit. It's $28! I didn't try the original one due to the bad reviews on the formula here, but the Extension is better than any mascara I've ever tried. Damnit.
It does not irritate my eyes or contact lenses at ALL! I didn't even realize that the Max Factor and LÓreal's I had been using were irritating until I used this.
It lengthens beautifully without clumping. The only learning curve I found with the application is figuring out how many coats I can actually get away with before it clumps, and the answer is, once I got the hang of it and worked quickly, as many as I want! That solves the problem of it not being volumizing, at least for me. The brush finds and coats every little lash from root to tip.
I love that the cap clicks closed - it makes me have hopes that it won't dry out terribly quickly.
I had no problems removing this either in the shower or using a non-oily eye makeup remover.
So given it's performance and the fact that I found it to be so much less irritating, it's a re-purchase for me, in spite of the hefty price tag. I'll never stop hoping for my HG to show up in the drugstore, and trying every new one that comes out, but this Givenchy is my baby now.
