Was looking for a red lipstick that look good on asian and i really love this shade. It was recommended by a blog and the lady was an asian as me and it look really nice on her and since CNY is near and there are discount for this lipstick, i thought why not? To be honest, i only like this for the color and the long-lasting effect. It does stay on me for more than few hours with some light drinking and if i eat carefully, i don't have to reapply but i won't be finishing it anyway, lol. The lipstick formula is really drying, i had color sensational lipstick in natural shades and they weren't that drying, this one show my lip lines terribly, even though i apply lipbalm beforehand. Other cheaper brand lipstick and my Bourjois lipstick didn't show any lip lines with the lipbalm underneath so this is only the Maybelline lipstick problem. Did i mention that terrible scent? It is so strong, i thought it was a french line or something. I used to have french makeup and they all are scented heavily but Bourjois scent is a light berry one, i really don't like this strong scent, drying and filling into my lip line lipstick, even though the color really brighten my whole face. But there are cheaper brand with the moist factor and lesser scent and most importantly, they don't show my lip lines, it's really ugly. What a pity, i really dig the color but i won't be repurchasing it anymore.

Shade description: fire truck red

Pros

- pigmented
- long wearing

Cons

- drying

Comments: Nice bright red with a bit of orange to it. I see this looking best on those who are fair skinned, but I enjoy it myself and I'm an NC37.

Will repurchase.

looking for a red lipstick along the lines of chanel dragon and guerlain garconne. this pulled fuchsia on me (i have fuchsia lippies already) and the formula was a bit too dry but definitely great color payoff. returned. 2 stars because if i was looking for a fuchsia-red lipstick this would work great

It's a warmer red, but it's also creamy and on the sheer side. It sort of reminds me of a more red and less pink version of MAC Viva Glam Cyndi. The color is not opaque like someone mentioned. I guess you could make it more opaque if you use a lip liner under it, but I prefer the soft shine. It's not a harsh red, so I think anyone can wear it. Of all the red's, this was the one sold out.

This is a fabulous color for fair-skinned blondes. I wear this with a bit of Burt's Bees lipbalm slicked on ahead of time, to soften the effect, which works out quite well.

I've searched high and low for a good "red" lipstick that wasn't too orange, too dark, too blue or whatever - and it turns out that Maybelline's Color Sensational Are You Red-Dy is the perfect color. I can't tell you how many mistakes I've made with red lipsticks - as a fair skinned blonde, it seems that most I've tried are just 'wrong' somehow - and this is NOT the case with this drug-store superstar.

I'm inclined to think that this color will work for most people - it's just the right shade of red, it's not drying or overly matte, and yet has decent pigment and stays on long enough.

Excellent buy, and best red lipstick I've come across.

Love this lipstick! It's pretty long wearing, seeing as how I only wear it for special occasions/parties. The shade is a perfect, classic bright red. Good lipstick, without being expensive.

Great color, great texture. I seldom wear it out though so I probably wouldn't purchase again. The brand is great though.

Love the pop of cherry it has! Although I gotta admit, the color fades slowly over the course of the day but even then it leaves a nice lip stain (:

I bought this because I am being Marilyn Monroe for Halloween and I think this red suits her look perfectly. Like others have said it is a tad orangey but not too much so like others can be... definately more red than orange. The texture is beautiful... definately gorgeously moisturizing and creamy. This lipstick has a beautiful sheen to it as well... i am really impressed with the quality of this lipstick and will probably repurchase in a different colour. The only reason I won't buy it again is because I can't really pull this colour off with my normal colouring... i dont think anyways. I have reddy brown hair and medium light skin tone. I tried layering this lipstick with a fushsia gloss and it turned into more of a blue red which is doable with my colouring but I would rather just have that red in general for non-halloween days. I think there is one called ravishing red or something? i dont remember.. but it is the one two shades darker of a red in the same line. Overall great product though

I spent five minutes squinting at the swatches for all three of the Color Sensation reds to try and decide which one had the right warm balance so I wouldn't end up with fuschia lips, which happens to me all the time with the wrong reds. I think I picked the right one...I like the weight and texture of this lipstick and the packaging is great. Someone called it 'Very Mad Men'...which is funny, because watching that all weekend is why I think I was jonesing for a red lipstick. :)

Can I just start off by saying this is a gorgeous red? It's not a true red. It's more orangey red than anything in some lights, but still a gorgeous red none the less. It was about $8 at my local grocery store. Walmart has the color cheaper, about $5. For the price I paid I'm really excited about it. The packaging is so cute, and the product has an amazing payoff! The name reminds me of Spongebob, as well. Are you Red-Dy? Ha!

Perfect red! I was so afraid of red lipsticks. Most of them have too much blue undertones for me and make me look like Ronald McDonald. I have light-medium skin. More on the light side but just not fair. This shade looks gorgeous and rich without over doing it. Looks good in the day as well as night. Does last very well, most of the day for me.

This is an awesome red, its bright true red and it really flatters my super pale slightly cool skin and honey blonde hair. Its very Mad Men for sure. The formula is awesome and doesn't bled like so many red do. I also have Red Revival and prefer this one, RR is darker and richer, too dark and too rich in my case but those with deeper complexion will love it. I totally recommend this lipstick if you have light color and like classic bright red lip look.

Are You Red-Dy is creamy, very opaque bright red, with a hint of orange. It is not so obvious, but it is there. Very cherry is the same brightness but with a hint of blue, cooler toned one.

I am NW20 with dark brown, almost black hair. I prefer Red Revival...the slightly darker, richer red fits me better. But Are You Red-DY is a very powerful red. Maybe a cherry red? I think of Red Revival as very NYC and Are You Red-Dy as very LA (brighter, flasher). I also think Are You Red-Dy would look great on blondes, where as Red Revival makes me think more brunette. Both reds have a huge color pay off and feel very nice and smooth going on. Not too glossy and not too matte...just rich. If you want a red, but aren't sure where to start...start with Maybelline Color Sensational. It is a very cost effective way to get yourself used to RED.
