I actually like this moisturizer, which is saying something because I usually hate everything I try on my skin. At first I was unsure, but after using it for over a month I've grown fond of it. The smell is just horrific; it's like spoiled milk. I was literally even debating using it because of the horrible smell. But, I've gotten used tot that. I like the texture and how you barely have to use and product to cover the whole face. It moisturizes very nicely and helps a little bit with my oily face, but not much. I've tried SO many oil reducing products, and none of them work, so I've decided that I just have an oily face and have to deal with it. This is a great moisturizer though, and worth the money. Even Taylor Swift uses it, although I loathe her.

This came in the blemish banisher kit from sephora. I loved the smell and texture initiallly, but then the consistency became very sticky and goopy after about a week, it was very strange. I also did not find that it was moisturizing enough especially if you use it with their detox cleanser. I ended up returning the whole kit.

I am neutral in this moisturizer. I primarily use moisturizer in the morning underneath my foundation/powder.

It was fine, did what I expected in terms of moisturizing. It did not break me out or cause redness, itchiness, etc. basically, no negative reactions.

But, for the price, it wasn't wow. It also doesn't have any sunscreen. Unsure if I will buy again. I do really like the packaging (a tub but you press down and a single serving pops up through a hole). And it works fine. Just not sure "fine" is worth $65.

Didn't care for this. It was very lightweight but it did not really hydrate at all. Sunk in well, but left a strange film on my skin. Also skin felt much oilier when using this. On top of that it also clogged my pores along my temples... perhaps the algae in the formula? I dunno.

Wow I'm surprised at the overall reviews of this product. This is one of the best moisturizers I've ever used and I've used them
ALL. The MUA gave me a sample because he raved about it. After I finished the sample I purchased a full size. I have combo skin and when using this my makeup didn't slide off my face 3hrs into the day which usually happens towards the warmer months. I had been using caudalie which I still like. My feels supple. The MUA informed me that this product will moisturize areas that need it and control oil in places that need it! I agree. Everyones skin is obviously different but it worked well on mine

I received this as a sample from Sephora. The consistency is mediocre and the smell is absolutely horrid, like sour diapers.

THE WORST HIVES ALLERGIC REACTION IN MY LIFE! And I NEVER EVER break out in an allergic reaction from anything. My neck and face are covered in hives. My eyes are swollen half shut. I feel like I am on FIRE. I got this as a sample from Sephora and used it once yesterday morning. I woke up this morning looking like a monster from hell. Please be warned. I saw I am not the first to experience this reaction. It feels so awful and I'm glad I didn't spend the $65 on this product. Completely not worth it.

Kate Somerville should get rid of this product completely. It is awful awful awful. I thought my face felt so nice after applying it. 24 hours later...ugh.

Unfortunately this just doesn't work for me. It is very lightweight, so people with oily skin will appreciate this. However, all of the acne treatments I have to use, this just doesn't cut it as far as hydration. Also, I do find that this makes me more oily, as opposed to not using it. AND I also find this doesn't break me out into little red bumps. But I break out from everything, literally everything. So... perhaps I'm not the best judge if a product causes breakouts. It's a shame because I really wanted to love it. However, there are a lot of people who seem to get great results from this judging from the reviews from other websites, so that's good I guess. So, I personally didn't find this product to work for me, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try it. If you are looking for a lightweight moisturizer, and you don't usually break out from things, give it a try. Just don't expect great moisturization by any means.

I've been using this for close to a month and I'm not sure if this has done much to my skin. I use it every night as a moisturizer for my oily t zone as i have combination skin and the results are so-so. The texture is slightly thick, but I find that it absorbs quickly into the skin. I adore the packaging though; the pump jar is so easy to use. Much prefer the original kate sommerville moisurizer, it has a much more pleasant scent and a smoother texture!

Like some other users here, the first time that I used this, I developed and itchy, red reaction with a rash on one side of my face. I thought that it might be something else, but it has happened 2 more times. Guess it is going back.

This is the ideal daytime moisturiser for my combination skin. It moisturises my skin without leaving it all oily and shiny so I can put make up on straight afterwards. I also like the fact the packaging is hygienic and you don't have to dip your fingers into the pot to apply the product. However, I do think it's a bit over-priced for what it is - a good, but basic, moisturiser.

Initially I didn't like this moisturizer and felt that it wasn't working for my skin. I first bought it seven months ago, this past April, and it took about a month for my skin to accept it. Usually if I try a product I can tell right away if it's going to work. My skin is extremely sensitive and reactive so sometimes one time using a new skin care product is all it takes to cause a problem. This didn't cause a stinging or burning sensation upon contact, which is my usual indicator that something isn't going to work (obvious I know, but I never even wait around at that point to give a product a fair chance). But my skin felt slightly uncomfortable, as if wasn't enough moisture. And it felt coated, like it didn't sink in properly even though my skin felt normal to the touch. At that point I'd been trying to find a new moisturizer for about two months so I decided to keep using this and see if it would feel better over time.

For reference, my skin is very sensitive, reactive, and normal. I'm not oily in my t-zone and usually my skin still looks balanced at the end of the day. I can get dry in certain conditions but that's unusual, and more likely due to other allergies than products. I'm pale, cool toned, with no wrinkles at all yet (thanks to tons of sunscreen), and no serious issues to deal with (no acne, dark spots, etc.). I keep my skin care routine very basic, only using cleanser and moisturizer everyday, with the occasional makeup remover if I wear heavy eye makeup. I'm fairly intolerant to products so I keep away from eye creams, serums, and such. So in a moisturizer the only thing I'm looking for is light moisture.

This looks and feels slightly thicker than an oil-free moisturizer should. But it's very emollient and lightweight once on the skin. Very silky feeling and nowhere close to a cream texture. It absorbs quickly and doesn't leave a shiny appearance or a dewy finish or anything other than just the texture of my own natural skin. At first it felt like it wasn't enough moisture but I suspect that was because I wasn't using enough. Over time I've found that I need a full pump for my face and another for my neck. Once I did that my skin felt comfortable.

Now that it's moving into Winter I find that my skin gets dry patches sometimes and I need to use more in specific areas. I haven't had breakouts or problems using this, no clogged pores either. It's a great basic moisturizer. I don't notice that my skin looks more improved or more even toned, but I wasn't expecting that so that's fine. I love that foundation applies over this easily and smoothly.

Because I use four pumps a day I do need to repurchase about every five to six weeks, which is sooner than most moisturizers I've used in the past. But given that this is working for now I can't complain. I'd rather this was in a pump bottle or something less clunky than the plastic jar. Also, I dislike having to wipe the product off the dispenser's surface, and it's impossible to tell how much product is left in the jar. So I always buy an extra to have a back-up.

I'd recommend this to other people with sensitive skin, and it seems like it would suit a variety of skin types (normal, combo, oily) other than normal to dry, or dry.

I have just finished my first jar of this cream and am undecided as to whether or not I will buy it again. Happily, it did not break me out or irritate my sensitive skin. This is a major hurdle for me and if I do not find something great that is cheaper than $65, I will repurchase. It moisturizes my combo skin just fine in the summertime, but my cheeks are still dry in the winter a bit after using this. It does also tend to make me oily sometimes in the t-zone when I wake in the am..but that's ok.. I think this is due to the dimethicone. Silicone primers make me oily too...like a primer it also makes your face velvety in texture. I do not use it in the day as my sunscreen is also a moisturizer. I like the pump dispenser and surprisingly, it dispenses all the way down to the end of the product...the bottom comes up as you use it....and the jar is easy to unscrew to get at the last bit, which is probably about two applications worth. I have not noticed any anti aging effects or much of a scent at all.

So, I received a sample of this product from Sephora. Now since I have oily/combination skin I use Clinique DDMG for my moisturizer and have been the past 2 years. So, since I got this as a sample and it says it's good for acne prone and oily skin, I said what the heck let's try it. I literally only used this once and my face broke out in a rash from both my cheeks to my chin. I had an allergic reaction to this product. My skin is severely dry all over, itchy and hot like I have a fever. The only thing I can do is splash cold water on my face to help soothe the irritation. I have never in my life experienced this with any type of product and I have really sensitive skin as well. It's finally going down after almost 2 days but I can't wear any make up or put anything on my face. This is such a horrible product and knowing that it's $65 a bottle makes me even more mad. I'm so glad I didn't purchase the full size of this.

I received this with the 9 kit. While the whole kit didn't work for me, I liked the products a lot but it didn't do anything for my acne. I really loved the moisterizer. It was pefect for my skin. I returned the kit but will purchase this alone.

This, my friends, is the ultimate moisturizer if you have acne. For real. My acne appeared out of nowhere and no products I tried would work. Then I decided to ship the Kate Somerville products to Norway, where I live. I was so happy. After three weeks, my acne was reduced and after another week or two it was gone. I used this moisturizer together with the Detox Cleanser, Clearing Mask and ExfoliKate. I love Kate's line. It's amazing. I would recommend it for everyone who suffers from acne or sensitive skin. The only thing I don't like about the product, is that it's not enough moisturizing in winter time, but I guess most of you don't have to deal with -4F in the winter. I thought the product was all over cheap and definitely worth the money. The packaging was good, but it's not very munch product i one jar, it lasts for a couple of months. YES, I would most definitely buy this again! Already have!

My skin is super oily, not acne-prone and doesn't really react to a lot of things. I prefer light, simple moisturizers; nothing too heavy. This fits the bill perfectly. It's a very nice medium-weight moisturizer that sinks into the skin easily and does not feel greasy. The problem is the price tag and packaging. I used some samples so I don't know how this product does long-term. But it better do miracles long-term to be worth $65 for 1.7oz. It just didn't seem like something special to me. I hate moisturizers that are packaged in tubs too. Can't stand digging my finger in like that. So I'll skip this one.

This did not work for me at all. I have combination skin with a very oily T-zone. The ingredients looked ok and I thought I would give it a go. Within two days of usage, my forehead broke out terribly! This just did nothing for my skin at all. And the price is just ridiculous.

I love trying new products but have found it impossible to stray away from this one. The moisturizer is light enough to wear through the day and seems to keep my oily t-zone in check. My face doesn't look shiney! When I run out of my night cream, I've used this at night and moisturizes well. The packaging is great and really helps you get every last drop of product.

This is definitely a HG product for me. I use this moisturizer immediately after getting out of the shower and under my foundation. It makes my foundation go on smoother than any moisturizer I ever tried. For a moisturizer it really does act like primer so you can skip a step by using this. I also use this at night as a nightly moisturizer. It keeps my face hydrated and oh so soft when I wake up in the morning. I think this a perfect moisturizer you can use all year long. Its hydrating for winter and light for during the hot summer. As for the packaging I think its really hygienic due to the unique pump. Just one pump and its enough for your entire face. The price is little steep, but this is definitely worth it for all the benefit you get when you use this moisturizer.
