I don't usually fall for neutrals, and I don't wear warm colours often, but I still love this quad! When I do want a warm or golden look, I reach for this quad. I find the texture easy to work with for all of these, and pigmentation is just where I would want it for these types of neutrals - not over the top, but not at all chalky or sheer. Skintone 1 is a nice highlight, very similar to Solar White, but the shimmer is more gritty. Rich & Earthy is a brick brown, very similar to Bold & Brazen. Skintone 2 is unique in my stash, but I'm sure MAC has other dupes. Notoriety is pretty unique - it's a dark brown with gold specks. I usually wear Skintone 2 all over the lid, Rich & Earthy in the outer V and Notoriety in the crease. Finish off with Skintone 1 to highlight the inner corner and brow bone, and it's done!

This is absolutely one of my HG quads. I am NC15 with greenish eyes and this quad is very natural on me and always looks polished and sophisticated. The colors are not wild and different, but just give me a wonderful glow. The notoriety shade in particular looks just like a shadow or crease on me, doesn't look like eye shadow at all. I have already bought two backups of this. Very recommended.

This is a pretty "mehhh" quad and not just because of the colors. The formulas of all colors except "Skintone 2" and "Rich and Earthy" are really crappy. "Skintone 1" makes a good highlighter, but it does not stay on the skin very well, even with a primer. "Notoriety" looks beautiful in the pan, but it is hard to blend and doesn't look too nice on the lid by its self. Using all the colors in this quad, you can produce a decent look, but it is nothing special. I don't know why I keep buying MAC eyeshadows...honestly, they suck. I have a hard time finding ones that are nice anymore. I much prefer Urban Decay's eyeshadows to MAC's anyday.

This is my favorite mac quad! I am a makeup artist and I used this on my wedding day. I love skin tone 2 it is a perfect golden and pairs perfectly with notoriety. This is probably the only MAC quad that I use regularly. It is beautiful, if they didn't last so long I would of brought two!

I received this quad as a christmas present and my initial reaction was.."wow what a pretty neutral quad" After the first time I used the quad I realized quickly how much I love it, and still to this day I use it everyday. It is really good for everyday use or for the fall season. Very neutral..but the color Notoriety is probably my least favorite. I wish it was more pigmented but I have to work with it to build the color up. I usually use it on the outer v and to deepen my crease. But overall I have been using this product everyday and aside from notoriety, I love this quad.

Despite negative reviews about this quad, i really love it. It is such a great starter palatte for people just gettin into eyeshadow or wanting an everyday look. hence why i didnt mind spending the money on it, knowing that i could wear this product daily, as opposed to buying a hot pink and having limited times when i could wear it. I often wear Skintone 1 as a highlight, i LOVE this as a highlight (however was chalky and not very pigmented, hence why i like it as highlight). Skintone 2 in the inner corner (such a beautiful colour, i loved the pigmentation and smoothness of it) Rich and Earthy in the middle or outer corner (probably one of my favourite colours, a beautiful coral colour with gold. such a pretty summer colour and good on a olive complexion, i loved pigmentation and again smoothness of it. this teamed with skintone 2 makes a very nice combination. I was originally off putted by this as the mac MA told me she disliked this colour and didnt think it went with the others, however after experimenting i love it) Notoriety i used as either outercorner or crese, which combines all 4 to be a neutral colour, i loved how u could make it a dark brown or soft brown. i also use this colour as an eyebrow shade, it matches perfectly to my dark brown hair. I have gotten multiple use out of this quad, i will be upset when its finished as it was limited edition, but i heard it shouldnt be hard to find dupes.

the colours compliment each other, you can do alot of varying eyes from subtle to dramatic. the orange and green shade are smooth and pigmented. the highlight was a dissapoinment more glitter than color payoff. notoriety very chalky.
nonetheless i love to wear the quad with peachy bronze blush and nectarine or nude lips. i think it would work for fall or summer!
i do feel like i have to pack quite a bit of color on even though i use uddp underneath to get a color pop.
i dont own any other quads from mac to compare it.
the colors i love, the pay off no.

As for me, this quad look best for work and casual outing..the darker colour is suitable for 'light' smokey eyes and the gold shadow can be use alone as to pop out my eyes..However, the pigment is better if purchased a loose shadow pot. Credit still goes to the packaging since it is compact and easy to carry around.

This quad was my first real MAC eyeshadow purchase other than basic carbon - which I love! I've heard lots of hype about the pigmentation and color payoff from their eyeshadows but I was thoroughly disappointed. The colors are not pigmented at all except for maybe the darker brown color (Notoriety) but I'm guessing that this is not true of all their eyeshadows so lesson learned - always go to the MAC store and swatch the eyeshadow before buying. Would not recommend this quad to anyone.

Notoriety Eye Shadow Quad Makeup Art Cosmetics Collection 2009
skintone 1 (l)
rich & earthy (vp)
skintone 2 (f)
notoriety (v)

MAC named a collection after itself. LOL
This is my first LE eye shadow quad (and first ever eye shadows) from MAC. I have come to love this quad. When I first bought it, I must confess that I was expecting more pigmentation given all the MAC hype. However, as I've used it more and more, it really is a lovely neutral palette that creates very soft, natural, wearable looks for every day. I have received compliments when I use this palette. I've been told it makes my brown eyes pop. My favorites in the quad are rich & earthy, skintone 2 and notoriety.
All of these shadows apply very smoothly and are not chalky. The colors are buildable if you want to give your look more intensity and pop. I would repurchase these colors if they were part of the permanent collection.

This quad is the neutral point of the whole colorful MAC Makeup Artist Collection. There' s a cream (Skintone 1 - like Shroom), a light golden coral (Rich & Earthy - like Paradisco), a gold (Skintone 2 - like Flip, goldmine) and a brown with coral sparkles (Notoriety - like Mystery without sparkles). It's nothing special. Some bleh neutrals. The color payoff is okay.

This is my very first LE quad from MAC (and I only have 1 other single shadow), and I've gotta say, i'm not that impressed. I picked this up because I wanted to try out MAC a little more. I'm not exactly fair, but I don't have a dark complexion either. I don't have MAC's foundation, but my concealer is NC35.

I found that these eyeshadows are really not as pigmented as I thought they were going to be. I'm really kind of irritated. I finally shell out the money for this, and I didn't get the color payoff that I really wanted. They are beautiful colors, but I think I'll have to try out other colors.

i LOVE this quad!!! i use Skintone 2 on the inner corner, Rich and Earthly on the outter corner, Notoriety in the crease and Ricepaper to highlight... Skintone 1 was a tad too shimmery for me to use as a highlight but its good as an overall wash on quick mornings when im in a rush.. it really brightens my eyes up

i have a love for quads because the conveniance factor is great... these colors really add dimension and sparkle to my green eyes

since they are neutral colors i think this quad will work for everyone

Rich and Earthly looks similar to Expensive Pink in the pan but on me i find EP looks more rose gold and Rich and Earthly looks more shimmery coppery

its a great fall color

A+++++++++++++++++++ I HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS QUAD!!!!

I find myself reaching for this quad quite a few times since I purchased this along with Photo Realism from the Makeup Art Collection. THis is soo easy to wear, I use Skin tone 1 as my all over lid colour... Skin tone 2 for my inner corner and Notoriety for my outer half of my eyes (then I blend it gently).... line my eyes with Carbon..Mascara and my eyes are done. I love easy makeup routines in the morning because I am always in a rush and having colour combinations that work well all in one quad is very handy. I haven't used Rich and Earthy from the quad yet.. and it looks a bit like expensive pink to me hmmm...

I won't be buying this again because it's a limited edition quad and I already have alot of similar colours to this quad.

I love gold eyeshadows so I automatically wanted this. I'm sad that a lot of other people don't like it and prefer the brighter colors but oh well. All very pimented, last long, and don't crease. The colors are:

Skintone 1: Lustre - Goldish white, all over color/highlighter.
Rich and Earthy: Veluxe Pearl - Ligh amber brown, lid color/crease.
Skintone 2: Frost - Golden olive color (my favorite) lid color.
Notoreity: Velvet - Dark brown with orange shimmers, crease/outer corners.

Overall I really like this! But torn on whether I would buy again or not.

These shades are super pretty and pigmented. They go together really really well and I think the artist did an amazing job putting together colors for these quads in this collection. A couple notes about some of the shades:

Skintone 2: A really awesome gold that I haven't quite seen from MAC before. It's really is a gold that I've been looking for for a long time, yellow gold but not too yellow and dark enough to use as a lid color. I would wear this alone with red lips.

Notoriety: Chalky and applies unevenly with primer, but I love the color you end up with. Really great crease shade that doesn't go red or too dark on me, which happens with a lot of browns. I would recommend using this as a base for both the gold and the peach bronze, it creates a really awesome effect

Rich and Earthy: similar to Expensive Pink, but Expensive Pink is a bit more red/pink. This is a bit less saturated so I find this a lot more wearable. Really beautiful.

The only gripe I have about this one is that the colors are too light (and jointly too frosty) so they kind of wash me out. They are the kind of shade that makes you not want to put on mascara because the mascara would look too harsh in comparison (you might know what I'm talking about). As a consequence, this doesn't translate to my look very well. I think this would look unbelievable on dark skin.

these colors are all lovely and quite pigmented (esp the gold e/s and coral e/s), they're jsut light colors themselves. theyre meant to be sheer and natural. they're extremely smooth and soft which is awesome.the pale color was a bit glittery so looked awkward as a browbone, but served nice in the tearduct.
i dont like the notoriety color though (the dark brown). i expected this one to be my favorite because at first glance, it's definitely the most interesting one, but it's not as dark as it seems, it was quite chalky. ew.

great combination of colors, although i wish they were more unique.

I am really really loving the Notoriety quad. At first I debated on whether to get it or not because I have tons of neutrals and thought I could easily dupe the quad. I was wrong. I have a pretty extensive e/s collection but nothing like the colors in the quad especially Skintone 2 and Rich and Earthy. These two are my favorite shadows from the quad. Skintone 2 is the perfect gold. I've been looking for a nice gold that's not too yellow and not too garish or green for awhile now. Skintone 2 fits the bill and is perfectoin. It's buttery smooth and gorgeous. Rich and Earthy compliments it perfectly. Rich and Earthy also has the same buttery texture. I think of it as a burnt coral. Skintone 1 also has the same buttery texture but is not terribly unique. It's a nice highlight color which pretty much every quad has so it compliments the colors nicely. Notoriety is probably the only eyeshadow in the quad that's been giving me problems. It's a little chalky and has copper shimmer in it that sometimes gets everywhere. I'm not loving Notoriety right now but I'm going to give it another chance. I suppose that this comes out of the fact that I'm spoiled by the gorgeous textures by the other 3 shadows. This would've received a perfect 5 stars if it was not for Notoriety. Overall though I love this quad. It's perfect for everyday. I've been wearing Skintone 2 on its own a lot with Tempting in the crease or Skintone 2 the inner half of my lid, Rich and Earthy on the outer half, and Notoriety or Tempting on my crease with Skintone 1 on my browbone to highlight. All of the colors together remind me of a sunset on my eye. It's just gorgeous and perfection for summer. While I also love the Photo Realism quad, Notoriety is more wearable for everyday. In the end I'm really impressed with these two quads from this collection. Way to go MAC!

This is the perfect neutral quad in my opinion. I'm always a sucker for neutral colors and this had me when I read the discription on the MAC website. These colors are beautiful for the fall and you can intensify the colors if you perfer more of a dramatic look. I also love that the premade quads are about $15 cheaper than making one yourself. I'm definately glad that I purchased this for this fall and other days that I feel like a natural look with a subtle pop.
