One should never ever exfoliate own's face with scrubs. Our skin can not take it. It's to harsh for our delicate skin on our face. Gommage is a perfect exfoliation. PERFECT. I've used it for years and one use of it, you'll notice the difference! For the longest time 'til now, it's on my must have list for face products. When it comes down to it, the one face product I can't live without is Yon-Ka's Gommage.
It's absolutely so gentle you can use it everyday and even effective if you use it only once a week. I battle with dry skin and acne. When I'm in my break out period, this is all I have to use to get my skin back to normal.
How I use it during breakouts ... apply quarter size on face, rub it off until it flakes off, then apply another layer and go to sleep with it! Yes it works as a mask too! and it hydrates my skin. My skin goes crazy when I use acne products that just dries out the skin. Gommage, like I said is perfect. It exfoliates and hydrates. Best product ever.

High-quality mask or exfoliant. I mainly use it as an exfoliant, massaging it into my skin, waiting for 15 mins, then massaging away with water. It is a soothing experience. Pay attention to the area around the nose and mouth too.

This product isn't so good unless someone else is giving you a facial with it. It doesn't exfoliant your face. I have to rub so much that it's not relaxing and calming. It doesn't seem to remove anything but the dull skin on your face which can be removed with soap or any face wash. It's so over priced for it.

this best exfoliant ever!!! removes dead cells without drying the skin at all. my skin feels soooo soft and hydrated afterwards. The texture is like after getting a 90 minute facial. i love the smell which is citrusy due to the lime extracts. i love the pink glow it gives my skin after using it. other products do their job more effectively after using this gommage. a favorite!

I use the Gommage 303 on my oily skin, but I've used the Gommage 305 on all of my normal/dry clients and it's amazing. The best hydrating exfoliant ever. It's also fabulous for airplane use as a mask for dry skin, far better than a humectant treatment (as there is no humidity in airplane air). It can also be used as an overnight mask treatment.

I worked with this product for years and was always pleased with the results that were achieved by both my clients and myself. Not only is it a gentle way to efoliate the skin on you face, you can also use it to exfoliate the delicate skin on your lips and eye area which are generally untouched by exfoliants. It can also be used as a hydrating mask. It is one of those products that can be challenging for some to use. I used to recommend for people to apply a drop the size of a dime onto the face, massage gently into the skin and allow to dry. Follow up with another similar size drop & massage it gently around you skin. What you will find is that within 30 seconds or so the product will become almost gummy and failry easily massage off the skin. Another member also suggested spraying with Yonka's toner to reactivate it and assist with removal and that is also a really geat tip. You shouldn't have to tug at the skin to remove the product. Do make sure you hold your skin in place when attempting to exfoliate your eye area. Be patient & give it a chance. If you are looking for one product to invest your money in, this is it.

I first experienced Gommage 305 during a Yon-Ka facial (which is an absolute dream, if your spa offers this line I highly recommend it.) My skin is combo/oily, and I have a hard time keeping it breakout free and soft at the same time. This product actually accomplishes it. Salicylic acid has broken me out in the past, and left my skin rough.
Other writers describe that peeling the product off can be difficult or time-consuming. I avoid this by washing my face, neck, and chest, applying a thin-to-medium layer, then I sleep in it. Off it comes in the shower the next morning. This product tightens pores, helps repair sun damage, and plumps up my naso-labial folds. And the subtle citrus smell is great. It is safe to rub all around my eyes and eyelids,at least I have never had a problem. I love this stuff.

I recently tried this after reading a previous post by someone with rosacea. I too, have rosacea, so exfoliating treatments with abrasive particles are an absolute no-no, as are most glycolic and other acid based peels. I doubted whether this would actually work or not, but I was so sick of the flaky skin across my cheeks and forehead, I decided to give it a try. In a word, it's amazing. After just one use, I have no flaking skin and my skin was left soft and smooth. I even think it's helped with the redness. My skin looks and feels better than ever. I will definitely buy this over and over again. It's been a miracle for my skin.

I have very fair, thin reactive sensitive skin. I use all the Yon-ka products and the quality and effects of the Gommage are no exception. As other reviews for this product have stated, this is a different type of exfoliant -- gel-based and is meant to be used as a masque then rubbed off (hence the french term "gommage"). You put it on after cleansing and toning. The secret to using it efficiently is to let it dry on your skin and then when you are ready to remove it, either spray it with your Yon-Ka lotion (if you use it) or jsut repeatedly wet your fingertips. I find it makes my skin just glow and look amazing. Moisturizer or treatment cream goes on after the Gommage and absorbs very well. I like the smell actually -- Yon-Ka doesn't put artificial smells in their stuff so the smells of their products are pure and organic. The only reason I'm not giving it five lippies overall is that I wish it were a bit quicker to use and I would prefer a pump applicator.

I was introduced to gommage during a facial and wanted to buy my own to do at home. The salon did not sell the product. So, onto Ebay, where I found a 2.6 oz (i think) tube for $10!!! I have dry skin and use it about once a week, but you can use it more frequently. The very thin gel goes on easy and if it dries out too long, you have to wet your fingers a bit to start it peeling off. Maybe I'll try a washcloth next time. The result is sensationally smooth and clean feeling skin. Doesn't leave me dry. I will definitely purchase again.

I've had a few facials done using products from the Yon-Ka line, and while the facials were great, this was the only product that I actually purchased afterwards. (I'm pretty happy with my skincare routine, but thought this would be a neat addition.) The gel is quite thin, so a lot of product dispenses at once. And if you absentmindedly place the uncapped tube on your bathroom counter, be prepared for a spill! I don't mind the smell, and when first applied the gel has a nice cooling/soothing effect on my skin. But once it's dry and ready to be removed, it's decidedly less than soothing! It might be that I don't apply a thick enough layer, or that I'm not catching it at the right time in the drying process, but the amount of rubbing that it takes to get off can't be doing any favors to my skin. It does work as far as exfoliation goes, but I tend to only use it on my nose and chin, where the pressure required to remove it is less bothersome. In short, the novelty has worn off, and I've realized that I much prefer a traditional scrub for manual exfoliation.

This is an interesting exfoliant, it is like a gel peel mask, I don't know if you are supposed to peel it all off at once, but I just scrub it off with a washcloth. It leaves my skin feeling nice and smooth and does not sting or burn like a lot of exfoliants. I am not sure about the price because my mother gave it to me - she said it did nothing for her skin. It smell a little funny, but I can get past that.

I just started using this, so I can't give it a '5' rating until I see the longer-term results. This is a gel that you leave on for 5-15 minutes and then gently peel/rub off. It really removes dead skin, refines and cleans pores, and leaves my skin feeling super smooth and looking just amazing--radiant! I don't think the smell is at all like detergent, but I think people just differ in their reactions to the smell of essential oils and botanicals--which is the only source of fragrance in Yon-Ka products. I like the smell! Safe to use on eye area, too. An excellent alternative to harsh scrubs. Comes in 2 versions--305 for dry/sensitive (and acne) skin; and 303 for normal-to-oily skin.
Honestly, I am really impressed with the Yon-Ka line so far. I don't work for the company, I promise. Many skincare lines just throw lots of botanicals into their products for the heck of it, but Yon-Ka really knows which ingredients do what. I've read a few books on aromatherapy and the Yon-Ka products are completely consistent with the info I've read in those books.

The new type of exfoliation. It is a gel-like texture applied on the face. It dries after a few minutes on the face. You gently rub it down. It is ment for sensitive and dry skin. The face feels nice, soft afterwards, not tight or dry at all. The only strange thing about this product is its overwelming detergent-like smell which you have to get used to.
