Wanted to like this balm but it broke me out a bit and I disliked that it was too oily.
Besides that...
I apply it 30 minutes before bed under my eyes and sometimes on any dry flaky skin I have from my acne medication. I wake up with very nice soft skin.
Since I do think this breaks me out I only like to use this on my lips, elbows, knees or any bad flaking on my face and it does the job.

My husband picked this up when he couldn't find my serum. It is thick, heavy, and aggravated the acne a little. BUT I was severely chapped, in pain, and nearly in tears after another product, and this was a miracle cure! It is amazing if you need a genuine balm. I've been using it since as a spot moisturizer. The trick to all of these products in this line is a little goes a long way.

On my dry-combination skin (dry cheeks&under eye, oily t-zone), this was too greasy. I could not use this anywhere on my face, not even on my dry areas, no matter how little I used, because it wouldn't sink into my skin properly. It also broke me out, even though I only left it on my face for about 15 mins after which I washed it off because my skin felt so clogged. I tried using it again on my face 2-3 times with the same results.
I did find a use for this though - it's a great organic lip balm! It feels a bit grainy and oily at first, but if you just use a tiny bit it will sink in and leave your lips plump and soft.
Also good for elbows and knees, although I think it's too expensive to use it on those areas.
Would I repurchase for the lip balm use? Only if I ever find it on offer, otherwise coconut oil would work about the same, for example, at a fraction of the price.
PS: The correct image for this product is the second one!

you just need a bit, but this works great. I was suffering because I had started out using retin-A every night, (your supposed to start off slowly) and my skin was a horrible dry mess with clogged pores. So I went to get microdermbrasion which opened my pores to allow product to actually penetrate it, this balm helped a lot, soothes calms and moisturizes, unless your going somewhere windy and cold during the day this is a bit to heavy for day time for under make up but great over retin-A or a acid serum or after a treatment such as a chemical peel or micro.

This product comes in a tiny jar, but I generally use a q-tip to remove some product to place on the back of my hand and warm it up with my fingers. It feels grainy, but as you warm it up, it turns into an oily, slippery texture. Since it is still technically winter, I wanted something that would hydrate the flakes on my skin. The first night I used this, I applied a thin layer on those spots (i.e. around my nose, on flaking blemishes, etc). The oil actually soaked into my skin after a few hours, and some of the spots did not really hydrate properly. I applied more product and it left my skin pretty distinctly oily, so I kept it only for nighttime use. I don't really reach for this product much, but I use it near the eye area and around my nose and mouth. It actually hydrates my eye area really well, so I give it rating of 4.

This stuff is ok, kinda greasy for the price you could just get pure Shea Butter and it works much better.

This is my life saver! A had discovered it on a blog and wanted to try it and see if it was a 'super balm' and it definitely is!! I had some patches of dry skin on my face and I used it at night and by the morning it had mostly cleared up. A little bit on your finger goes a long way! I would highly recommend this to any one who gets dry skin often or has dry skin!! :)

When it comes to this product, less is definitely more. I put a dot of the product on my finger- the size of a grain of rice, and then I dot my face with it and work it in. When using the right amount, your face gets a dewy glow. I have normal skin which tends to be on the dry side in fall/winter and on the oily side in summer.
Love love love using this during windy weather. My face used to literally burn when it was windy. This product feels like a barrier that protects my face.
A bit pricey, but like I said, use just a dot a day and it should last a long time.
Super cute packaging. No major complaints there. Just make sure your hands are clean before you reach in since it is an open jar.
Would definitely buy again, especially in the winter time.

The picture shown in wrong - this comes in a small glass pot with a metal screw-top, not a tin.
It's very rich, but very effective. I actually have oily skin, but have a tendency to dry patches around my nostrils and on my cheeks. I use this only at night as it does leave a film on the skin, but I've found it very effective at dealing with dry patches. I've even used it on a callus on my husband's hand, which it cleared up within a week.
I find the small pot slightly tricky to use as I have nails, so tend to get the product behind my fingernails when trying to get some out. A wider, shallower pot would be easier, but would expose more of the surface of the product to the air, and then they would probably have to add preservatives. As it is, it only has a few ingredients, all but one organic, so on balance I can live with the pot.

First of all, the main photo in this product listing on Mua is wrong. That is not the face balm but the 'Boots Original formula skin balm' containing petrolatum etc!
I like the Boots organic face super balm. The texture of this cream is grainy, like ghee. I use a miniscule amount on moist fingertips, to spread over the face. May cause breakouts if used in excess and on the trouble areas like nose, forehead (for me).
I wish a bigger jar was available and it were a bit cheaper too.

I have very dry, sensitive skin and I found that putting an oil product over my moisturizer at night is really great for my skin. I don't like regular oils. They're hard to manage and they don't seem to sink into my skin as well. Solids that turn into oils seem to work the best for me and I've been trying many! This, Egyptian Magic, Yu-Be Cream, Coconut oil, etc. While I will be going back to the Egyptian Magic because of the amazing value you get with the size of the product compared to the amount you need to use, this is still a great balm. The texture is more oily-creamy, than straight oily, and it is very soothing. I love that it has argan oil in it, and yet, is so affordable. The packaging is cute. I do wish that they made it in a bigger size and a wider (as opposed to deeper) jar. But I'm still able to get out a perfect amount. Although I'm sure that this would not be fun packaging for someone who has nails. I'm a big fan of Boots, and will definitely keep using many of their products. I'll probably repurchase this at some point in the future once I start to get a little bored with my Egyptian Magic. Good stuff!

So much to rave about with this product. The ingredients are minimal (a rarity this day and age,) yet extremely high quality for a product that costs only $8, is found in mass markets, and versatile (I use it on my face, body, lips, hair, even on my bulldog's dry nose.) Shea butter is the first ingredient, and the much touted argan oil is last on the list, though when as few ingredients are included as are in this product, I feel confident that nothing in it is diluted. It makes an amazingggg eye cream, and is also fab on lips (organic, so who cares if you end up eating some?) if my skin is very dry, a small amount immediately remedies it, and doesn't appear to clog my acne prone skin (though I only use it sparingly.) I can't imagine a single person on the planet who couldn't find at least one use for this, and I recommend it to anyone and everyone reading this review wholeheartedly!

I was looking for a natural based night lotion at Target but they don't seem to carry much products that fit this description, so I bought this balm because it has very few ingredients and it's affordable. I've been using it for a week now and I definitely like it on my skin. My only advise is that you put it on your skin about an hour before you go to bed to allow it to absorb into your skin. This is a product I don't recommend for day use as it leaves your face shiny/oily, but it works great as a night lotion. I have oily/ acne-prone skin and so far it hasn't caused any breakouts. I will purchase this again!

I've been eyeing Lush's ultrabalm lately, and figured this would be a good dupe. And, oh man is it ever! I don't think I'll ever need to try any other products, this is a great moisturizer. The smell is herbal and pleasant, I really enjoy it. I use it as a primer in places where my skin is extra dry, like around my eyes and on my chin, around my mouth. I have some serious eczema, and almost never break out, so this is perfect. Generally, I need an undereye concealer, to cover some dark circles, and this makes the cream slide on and not settle into my lines. It's amazing, and you get a lot of product, 75mL, which, at a couple of finger swipes a day is not going to run out any time soon.

I have very acne prone skin, but my face gets really dry and peely during the winter. This is the best for it! It doesn't break me out and it's extremely moisturizing and effective if you're good about using it when it's needed. A little bit goes a long way. If you rub in a really small amount, it will absorb faster and you can wear makeup over it more easily.

its a really super duper face balm, its natural and it does hydrate my skin, i use it when im about the go to bed, leave it in overnight and wake up in the morning and my face is soft, it really does hydrate your skin, esprcially during the winter time when the heaters are on and that really does dry out your skin so, when your sleeping his product will keep the moisture locked in and although it may make your face look shiny (depending on how much you put on) its well worth it!

I have sensitive skin that dries out in the winter but breaks out pretty easily. After reading all the great reviews I thought I would give this a try, especially considering how inexpensive this was. The first two weeks this was the greatest. My skin was hydrated and it looked great....then it began to break out badly. Sadly I had to stop using it but I'll keep it around for my dried out hands. Just a note: this has argan oil in it which turns out to be very comedegenic.

RAVE. This was a total impulse purchase for me at Target. It's been so dry here in the winter in Chicago that I was starting to see some crepiness under my eyes, and my normally emollient moisturizers were evaporating by mid-day, leaving the area feeling dry. This balm came to the rescue! This is a little glass tub--larger than a lip balm but smaller than a typical face cream. The consistency of the balm is like a gritty Vaseline, only the little grains completely dissolve when rubbed together. I pat it in over my normal moisturizer at night, and the area is still moist in the morning. I thought it might be too shiny for daytime, but I patted it in under my eyes from the center on out, just avoiding the inner area where concealer would go. Worked like a champ. I have oily skin, so I only use this in the eye area. I will rebuy this as long as they keep making it!

The first thing you should know is that this product is amazing quality and quantity for the price! So if you're having reservations about trying, just do it!
It's very moisturizing, and I really love it for this dry winter weather. I have dry patches occasionally, and use it for that, and it works wonderfully where my all over moisturizer just can't. I've also tried this all over my face before bed and woke up without any oil slicks, and I've had no new breakouts, so I think it's doable for all over the face too.'
A little goes a long way, and I can't imagine using this when it's more humid out.
And for your combination skin girls, I am NOT that dry at all, and I enjoy this product. I can get slightly oily in the summer, slightly dry in the winter, so I am very middle of the road here. And I still like this.
