I purchased the porcelain shade for $5 for my NC20 skin. application is key with this foundation- DON'T wipe it on, it needs to be lightly patted on with your fingers or a brush, wiping on gives a really horrible effect.
super heavy feeling with med to full coverage, i dont put this on my nose because it doesnt last and becomes blotchy but on my dry cheeks its fine.

The packaging is super cute and retro, i prob wouldnt purchase again but i have no problem continuing to use the rest of the jar.The price for this is ridiculously cheap however and I I was on a budget or hunting for a bargain this would be my first choice foundation.

I came across Leichner CAMERA CLEAR foundation whilst browsing Amazon for a suitable foundation for my very dry skin. I remember coming across it before and being tempted by, but not getting it because trying to colour match it via the unhelpful chart is a shot in the dark. However as it is so cheap I decided to just order the lightest shade [porcelain] and hope for the best.

When it arrived I was disappointed, as whilst the shade is nice and neutral, it looks a bit darker then what the shade name would suggest. However the creamy formula is so light and silky to apply, that blending it into the skin for a better colour match is easy. Once blended, the results are a smooth satin finish, with medium coverage (it can provide fuller coverage with layering).

I've found it to be transfer resistant, another plus. I've worn with a primer, without one, with powder and alone; my preferred look is skipping primer and setting the foundation with a touch of powder, as that is long lasting and gives a natural, un-cakey look. Finally; This hasn't oxidized on me.

negatives? For me, this doesn't have any. However if you don't have dry skin the moisturizing ingredients in this foundation will become greasy on your skin, so I wouldn't recommend Leichner CAMERA CLEAR to anyone other then those with dry skin.

Also: remember that it applies lighter on the skin then it looks in the container, so bare that in mind.

This is a pleasant surprise and I have MUA to thank for.

As a new mu artist I am looking for products to cover my needs for various skin tones without breaking the bank. I must say that I took a blind leap when I bought these because I could not be sure what shade each pot represents. After a lot of thought, I ended up with the following 4 blends:
- Almond (pink)
- Walnut whip (peach)
- Porcelain (neutral)
- Chestnut (dark, not sure of the undertone)

Apprication:
Using the 3 first shades I can pretty much recreate any light-to-medium skintone. I am (roughly estimated) 2/5 Walnut+2/5 Porcelain+1/5 Almond and it is really no big trouble to get each product out everyday and mix it if it means I get to have my perfect match. I have Chestnut to add for a darker skintone, but I am not sure of its undertone. On my white face it turns a little red.
As other reviewers said, be careful of the quantity. You only need so little. Now I have combination skin and so I have to use it on non-moisturized skin. It wears very comfortably on my winter-dry, Dior-Forever-maltreated skin.
I apply it with fingers. I tried using a stippling brush (MAC 187) but it just clumps the brush hair together and makes giant streaks on my face that no amount of buffing can correct. Being combo, I take an extra step and pat lightly with some (toilet) paper to remove greasiness.
I powder as usual (my powder is not oil control but I have no problem) and then continue with blush, bronzer etc.
I find that I can use it under my eyes and on the lid and I do not get any irritation. I get medium coverage and a cream finish this way. Now I know this sounds like a lot of trouble but really it takes so little in the morning and it is the most lovely finish I have so far. Plus, it saves me the time from not having to apply serum + moisturizer :)

It has a slight smell that I cannot describe, not bad, and I cannot smell it a few minutes after application. The only bad thing I can think of is the jar. Not for hygene reasons (I use a spatula) but because it is so greasy that the oil gets under the screw-cap and seeps out. When I received them, one was covered in grease so bad that the label had turned colour. A little disgusting and messy, but I prefer to pay for the product than a fancy packaging. Plus, it really saves space in my kit.

I am very-very happy with this product. The price is amazing and there is nothing lacking in performance. I will have to see how it holds on warmer days but for winter days this is my new love of makeup. As a matter of fact, this is my new standard for foundation and I will have to revise my mark for the other foundations I have reviewed. Will definitely buy again.

I got this in blend of porcelain as I'm very fair skinned after reading reviews about it being great for dry skin I thought it would be perfect for my face!
I was not disappointed, this not only moisturisers your skin it covers imperfections really well.. and a little really does go along way! I applied today with my fingers which left my face a little too cakey so I'm going to invest in a sponge and apply a little powder to keep it in place (like other reviewers have said) One things for sure this foundation will last me a hell of alot longer than any other! The only thing I can fault is the smell as it's a little overwhelmingly strong but seems to wear off after an hour!
Will repurchase :)

Got some yesterday, thought for the price, £3.00 at the factory shop, I'd give it a try.. like the coverage and the colour, but the smell is very off putting!! Reminds me of my Nana and she is dead!! Used a mineral powder over the top and that seems to mask the smell. Time will tell if I would buy it again...

In brief, this is a very nice, old school, cream foundation with an off-putting
floral scent that is pretty much a deal breaker for me. The only way I could find to neutralize it was to blend it with primer or moisturizer before applying it to my face. It is interesting that it does an excellent job on dry skin even though there is nothing high tech about its ingredients; however, if you add a silicone primer,
you have the best of both worlds. I think this is interesting as a historical artifact but, until they get rid of the scent, I see no compelling reason to use it.

Wow, how great is this foundation? I'm absolutely in love with it, it's such a great product.

Leichner has been around for ages (my mother persuaded me to buy it) and even though it's old, it works brilliantly. It gives great coverage and it smooths my skin and leaves it so soft & moisturised! I love it, definitely up there with the best!

This is the BEST EVER foundation. It's so flexible. Mostly I use a brush and swipe a bit on over moisturiser just to even out my complexion. It stays!
If I'm going out or performing and want something more spectacular, I swipe some NudebyNature mineral foundation and/or their airbrush finishing powder over the top, and I am yet to experience peeling or a mask-like effect.
I have incredibly sensitive skin and none of these products have caused reactions.
The packaging is basic, but the consistency of the foundation is thick - I have never had a spill, nor has it cracked or broken, and it's been travelling, hurled around in my handbag, discovered by my two little girls, etc.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!

I remember buying this a few times back when i was a teenager back when i didn't know the differance between good and bad foundation. looking back at it now after experimenting with so many foundations...what was i thinking!! It did cover blemishes well but it looked super heavy, it was really obvious i was wearing foundation even from a distance! the texture of this foundation was really oily, made my skin look very oily even though as a teenager my skintype was normal/dry!! i needed tons of powder over it throughout the day! would not recommend

I can't understand why this foundation is so cheap and so excellent! I have dry skin at winter and combination skin at other times of the year. I apply this with the BeautyBlender sponge. I get a flawless dewy medium coverage. You can build on it if you want. It never cakes or dries up at the end of an 8 hour day. I have had no acne as a result of this foundation. I have tried so many expensive foundations, and I have surprised myself in liking this so much. Yes, I will always buy this.

I just got this today, so I will update as I go along.
I ordered this foundation from an eBay seller. It was so cheap, only around 5 pounds. I got Blend of Porcelain, as I'm very pale (I was matched to NC20 at one time, but I think I'm closer to NC15 nowadays). When I opened the jar it looked incredibly dark to be a porcelain shade, but strangely enough once I put it on my face it looked really pale. As others have said, this is definitely not a foundation for oily skin, but for dry skin it feels wonderfully moisturizing. The consistency reminds me of Nivea, which means it's very thick. It looks glossy in the pot but on the face it gives a dewy finish, not greasy at all. The fragrance is quite potent and noticeable for someone like me, who mostly use mineral foundations. I wouldn't say that this foundation is full coverage unless you put it on very heavily, which I don't think would work. But it's definitely medium coverage+, yet it's not obvious and you look polished but not overly made up at all. I'm hoping this won't break me out, as I have very sensitive skin.

ok, off to say something about this foundation...
thi isn't a classic foundation cream, no sir...it is more like Dermacover or Dermablend or Igia camouflage foundation...and yes, it is heavy and sticky and smells like crap....but..I have oily skin, but without any 3D imperfections:))(such as scars, acne...), and I've been using it for a week now...
I think that the WAY YOU PUT THIS ON YOUR FACE is very, very important...if you put it with fingers, it is no good...it looks cakey, feels heavy and all in all could make you feel you have tons of layers on your skin..
however, try putting this cream with wet sponge or(best way, believe me)with the stippling brush...
THEN it looks amazing !since it is very concentrated and thick, you realy need just a dab to cover your entire face... and blending brush covers that aria perfectly, because all you have on the brush will surely end up on your face...and not on the sponge or on your fingers..
I bought Blend of Tan, and I'm kinda NC 30-35 type (i use True Match W3, Affinitone in Golden, Dream satin im 021 Nude...)...and can't believe how good this shade is!!!almost perfect for the evenings out when you can put a dab darker foundation and it still looks amazing...
it blends perfectly, though you need to set it with some loose or pressed powder just to keep in in place...it looks darker in a jar, but when you put it on, amazingly natural and good...has a yellow undertone, not orange at all, so don't worry about this BofB. nuance to end up too dark for you..
smells like all the other heavy-duty camouflages- like titanium dioxide and chalk...not a pleasant smell, but if wears off after 10 minutes...

all in all this is superduper foundation camouflage (kinda like MF Panstik), very cheap, and please try applying it with the brush....

I would buy this again just because there are sooo many ''sheer, light'' foundations out there, but when I need ''a cover''face, the choice is realy poor

this does ''cover -face'' perfectly....

I bought this as I have acne scarring I like to hide. This is very thick and covers EVERY imperfection.

HOWEVER! It is so heavy on the face. It just sits there. I wore it without powder on the day I bought it. It literally ran down my face. It slid off. I have super dry skin so oil wasnt my problem. Also even seconds after I put it on, when I smiled it left deep cracks at my mouth and eyes. I tried it with a powder. I needed to douse myself in powder to get rid of the 'wet' feeling. I felt like I had a tone of cement on my face. I used this for a week and went through 2 and a half 19gram powder pans! Oh and another thing I had to be careful applying the powder or my face would be covered in brush strokes.

This foundation is extremely heavy and STICKY. I dont recommend it. I bought it in porcelain and its too dark. I gave it 2 lippies cause of the coverage.

First off, if you are prone to breakouts, don't use this, If you are oily, don't use this b/c the first few ingredients are petrolatum by-products & lanolin alcohol. For the rest of us, this product ($4 for 1 oz.) is fantastic. It will definitely be great for fall & winter use.
I ordered Beige & Tan for my NC 37; it turned out that Tan is a tad lighter than beige (go figure). Beige has a yellow undertone, perfect for NC 35-40, while tan has just a bit of pink undertone (just a tad, in comparison), more like a NW 30.
It turned out I can use both, because you just need a tiny bit of it, the amount is so small that if you sneeze, it will blow the product away. It does even out the skin & for dry skin, I don't have much issue for pores. I do not layer it to cover the melasma b/c of the moisture content, it will take forever to dry (absorb), I use a separate concealer for that issue.
I will compare this equally with the Cle de Peau cream fdn, which suits for all skin types & costs $130.
And for those who still believe "what you pay is what you get" .............

This is an amazing foundation if you have dry skin! It covers skin imperfections and gives you that glowing, fresh look no matter how tired you are. I have mixed skin that gets a bit dry sometimes and unfortunately this foundation made me break out badly (I usually never get pimples). Too bad, I still think this is a great foundation.

I bought Leichner on the advice of a friend (who uses it to mask lupus rash), in order to hide my acne.

I have to say, it is very good. The porcelain is pale enough for my (excruciatingly white) skin. The coverage is excellent. And it smells like Chanel 5.

It is very moisturising, and will leave you shiny if you don't use a little powder over it. However, it stays put and hides a multitude of sins. I wouldn't use it every day, but it is good if your skin has decided to go haywire.

Also, very cheap.

All in all, worth a try.

I got this foundation in blend of biscuit and are still only half-way through the tub. I have dry skin and this foundation is very moisturising, so it's fantastic for my skin. On the other hand though, people with oily skin will probably find that it's just too heavy for them or could cause them to breakout. It also has quite a bit of a shiny finish, but that's easily fixed with a little powder.
It was only £4 - great value for a tub which is lasting a loooooong time. A little goes a long way, so if you want light coverage it could last years, and coverage that's a little heavier will cover even the most stubborn of blemishes.
It comes in a tub which is a little cumbersome to carry about, but not too annoying. It's also a foundation which you can apply with sponges, brushes or fingers well, so you can apply it anyway you want.
All in all it's a great foundation, especially for those with dry skin as it will moisturise your skin as you wear it. It comes a decent variety of shades, mine being blend of biscuit - although that's getting a little dark as my tan fades. It's also quite hard to find, I'm lucky knowing a make-up stall with it - but it's not hard to find on the internet, and very cheap, especially considering how long it will last you.

This is a high coverage foundation with a slightly oily texture, so not good for oily skin. My skin is dry-normal so it's great for me.

It covers my discolouration and lasts all day. It also comes in a large range of shades.

My tub has lasted my a couple of years so it's definately good value for money!

If you have dry to very dry skin this may be the perfect foundation for you.
I bought this in Almond and Walnut Whip and they would have to be the best foundations for my skin that I have ever tried and they were very reasonably priced too. I bought three 30ml jars for 10 pound UK.
Looks a bit thick when you first apply but blend out well with a damp sponge for a perfect finish.
This foundation is seriously moisturising leaving my skin feeling super soft.
Plumped out my skin, did not settle in the creases and left me with an airbrushed finish, no powdery residue.
I would say this gives medium coverage with a lovely healthy glow and the shades I chose were just perfect for my skintone.
I also found I didn't need to use concealer, I just patted on a little extra foundation.
Finish with a little powder and this foundation won't budge all day.
I have very fair skin and was a bit confused by the names as I usually use light sounding names like Ivory or Porcelain. The shades look a little darker in the pot than they apply so don't be afraid to try one a little darker than you are used too. These foundations can also be mixed so that you can get your perfect match, so if you have one that it too dark or light, purchase another shade and mix it.
This foundation is just brilliant!!
