I only use this for spot treating because it draws out everything on your face. I don't have enough patience to have a face full of spots for days. I just treat one cheek, nose, and chin. Then I alternate and do my forehead and my other cheek a few days later. I had great skin for quite a while then I did the oil cleansing method...big mistake. I went a little overboard with it. I went out and bought all organic makeup with oil and HOLY CLOGGED PORES. I don't get large zits just blackheads from it and they are more annoying! But this is great for unclogging those stubborn blackheads. If you pick at your skin, do not use it on that acne blemish. I used a blackhead remover on my cheek and it pulled some skin off. So beware of those things. It wasn't bad and nothing a little mederma didn't fix in a few days. Leave this on for about 10 minutes if spot treating but, do not go over! It says five minutes and if you were doing your whole face I would say 5 is plenty of time. I am one of those unfortunate people who had perfect skin growing up but, I never wore makeup until I was about 20 and then...my hell began at 21. Who knows why it was but, me and bare minerals were not friends, lol.

I used up a whole tube of this and never bought it again. It was expensive and I hated the ingredients. But did it work? Yes. It got rid of a lot of the congestion and blackheads as well as flattened the red angry whiteheads that were on my face at the time. I never bought it again because I hate the smell, the price and I find the ingredients way too harsh and it felt like it was burning my face after a while.
I can't find the ingredients online anywhere, but I know it has salicylic acid in it which I've been using for years on my skin so it's not that. I suspect this has menthol in it and I've since found a cheaper better clay based mask without any harsh ingredients like menthol, peppermint or eucalyptus. That stuff is unnecessary. (Edit: checked the ingredients, it doesn't have menthol in it but that's what it feels like on my skin - a cooling feeling that actually burns. I don't like it.)

I bought this mask 2 yrs ago when i had moderate acne because i thought it will at least help me clear off some blemishes , to be honest i didn't see any difference on my skin , i was so annoyed that every time i bought something from Clinique i have my high hopes but i always get disappointed on there products, i used it for three weeks and no i didn't see a difference ,it was also an expensive clay mask ,.,.then my auntie recommend it Queen Helen mint julep mask and it helped my skin sooo much and it was really cheap , Now i just used 100% pure bentonite clay mask and it works way better then this clinique mask ,now i have light acne ,.who says buying expensive products is necessarily better ? Overall I don't recommend this product.

Unfortunatley i purchased the whole clinique anti blemish line before realising my skin hates anything with Salcylic Acid in it. This mask contains 1.0% salcylic acid which was enough to bring out blemishes after two uses. Its unfortunate because this mask left my skin softer and reduced redness. The side effects of it included new cystic blemishes in my blemish prone areas and therefore would not repurchase.
I would recommend this though if your skin responds well to Salcylic Acid. My skin is more partial to benzyl peroxide products.

I really like this mask, I have super oily skin especially before my period, I use it once a week and it helps to keep my oil and shine under control and a little goes a long way and since Clinique is pretty affordable I recommend it if you're oily and break out prone. It leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh never tight or red.

This mask works super well. It's great for acne and getting rid of oil/sebum on the skin.
I love it and will continue to purchase it.
I apply a very thin layer on my cheeks, chin and above the lips. On the rest of my face (Nose and forehead, where I get acne and oily) I apply a thicker layer.
It lasts a long time and is just great in general, definatly my favourite out of all the masks I've used and from the Clininique Acne Blemish Line!

The best clay mask that I've ever use. Does very well at absorbing the sebum. My face feels very fresh and clean after using it. Sometimes, I will use it as spot treatment on my acne, it helps to dry off the acne. Very good for those who have oily and acne-prone skin like me. It is around RM100 in Malaysia, might sounds a bit expensive but a tube like this can last for many times. Definitely worth the money.

Hi, I am 26 and i'm sufferring from adult onset acne. I had beautiful clear skin when i was younger then wham, 2 years ago i'm hit with it. Anyway, i'm getting married in 5 weeks so i need some drastic damage control. I've already purchased the Acne Solutions (anti-blemish) 3 step, and now i have bought this mask. I have read many acne treatment options on the net and i have decided i'll try and stick with salicylic acid based products for the time being.
So far i'm loving this mask. It smoothed on my skin really nicely, dried it out sufficiently, and washed off relatively easily. Today my skin is looking nice and matte, my pimples seem to have diminished over night and i don't have my usual build up of excess oil around my nose that i get at this time every day.
I just have to say this mask is designed for people with acne. Yes it will dry out your face. You are basically putting a mild acid based mask on your face to kill any bacteria. Do not use this product if you don't have acne. I have acne and at the moment as long as my acne clears i do not care what my face feels like. If its dry, its dry. I'm sure its not as dry as my face would be if i took Roaccitane!

This mask SERIOUSLY messed up my skin. Maybe because it's winter right now, but this mask made my skin SO dry. I normally have oily skin and somehow this mask got the worse of me. It made my skin look and feel very dry, however I was still producing oil on my face, and it was just so weird! It also gave me new mini pimples!
The first night I used it I thought "cool, feels nice". The next day though I noticed my skin got very dry and the day after that it was even worse. And it took me about 2 weeks to get back to normal... This mask + harsh winter season + exam time = horror. I'm so glad I only got a sample of this.

I like the feel of this product and the smell. I think it is very effective against acne. My skin condition changes with seasons. I initially got it for oil control in the summer (in the summer my skin is combo oily), but it made my skin drier and more oily, so I stoped using it and it was just sitting there. However, in the winter (my skin is normal/dry), I broke out quite a bit, and used this product. It greatly helped control the acne, and I didn't have any shine for a while, but after using it for a couple of weeks every day 2 times a day, my face got really dry and flakey.
Overall, I think this product is very effective against acne, but does not do anything for oily skin. Would I buy again? Maybe in the winter. Pricewise, for Clinique it's OK for this amount of product. I give it 3.5 lippies!

Is a nice clay based face mask, that doesn't irriitate or make ur skin feeling dry! I use twice a week after cleansed and exfoliated skin, spread easily on the skin leave on for 5 minutes and my skin is so soft and smooth that i love!!! Controls shine and mask r very important cuz it creates a better blood circulation on ur face, that can be proved when u feel a heavy sensation, when the mask it's on ur face!!! But my HG face mask is from Nuskin glacial marine mud! The clinique one is a great option and the 100ml bottle last long time!

Despite the generally good reviews for this mask, it did absolutely NOTHING for me.
While my skin really isn't that oily, (I'm more combo-dry) I wanted something to treat my occasional breakouts. I couldn't afford to repurchase my favorite DDF Sulfur Mask, so I tried for this Clinique mask which was more reasonable. I've used this mask many different times and during different months, and I've never noticed that it improves my skin in any discernable way. I might as well have plain water on my face from all the difference it makes. I will admit though that since I don't have oily skin, it might be that I'm the reason the product isn't effective versus it being the product's fault. Definitely didn't treat breakouts though.
One good thing about the mask is that unlike other clay masks, it doesn't harden immediately upon leaving the container. This fact makes is might easier to spread on your face. It also covers a larger area because it's so spreadable, so you don't have to use much goop each time. I also found it lasts a lot longer in the tube than my DDF Sulfur Mask did. The DDF Mask hardened in the container after awhile and I had to throw it away, which wasted a large portion.

Wow, this mask is so good and effective. Most clay masks will leave you too tight with a lot of funny tingles, but this one is so... Here let me explain:
The texture is more liquidy than normal clay masks I've used, therefore easier for me to spread evenly before it's attached and hardened.
I only need to apply a bit and it's enough to cover my face, hence, cost efficient per use.
I know most of you were hoping this would magically change your crap-acne face into a porcelain, but that's just a wishful thinking. What I get from this mask is a quicker recovery time from acne(the redness, the eruption), but I'm not sure about its preventive ability(will update after I'm out).
It doesn't do the oil-control ability as it claims, but it really helps to slightly make a difference to the crap redness and eruptions.
I'm using this twice a week and it's been working wonderfully, I hope it does the same to you all.
Will update.

I am in LOVE with this product! It has done absolute wonders for my skin:) It calms it down, reduces redness and dries up existing blemishes. I also notice it seems to be fading my acne scars quite a bit. I use this mask every other night at around 5pm. I don't like to put it on right before I go to bed, just a personal preferance that seems to be working best for me and giving best results. I have had no problems or complaints concerning this product. I have acne-prone, sensitive, combination skin and I've used this for about 2 weeks now. I would definitely buy this mask again! Life saver when you need a fresh smelling little pick-me-up too!

I have sensitive, combination-to-oily, acne-prone skin. I own Clinique's 7 Day Scrub, Turnaround Instant Facial, Exfoliating Scrub, and this Oil Control Cleansing Mask. And, I do like and rotate between all 4 of them.
I do not use the rest of the Acne Solutions line. This is actually the only product from Clinique's Acne Solutions Line that I do use. And, tis mask does work fine at keeping my skin clear, allowing for my pores to look better refined, and even allowing for less oil breakthru throughout the day.
This product is really a great buy. And if you have acne-prone skin like mines, this mask will really help to make a difference in keeping your skin as clear as possible.

This does the same job as most claybased masks, it absorbs the oil and makes you look more matte.
I love this mask, and this is maybe my HG mask for one reason, and that is because this doesn't contain any menthol or peppermint that for 95% give a burning feeling on my face instead if and cooling feeling. I use it may ways, sometimes I put it on a unwashed face before cleansing so it can absorb all dirt on my face and help my cleanser. Sometimes (most normal way) I use it after cleansing, or after shower.
To be totally honest I don't think this is going to help with acne problems ( I havn't at this moment), but for oilcontrol it is an yes form me.

I haven't really seen a change in my oily skin using this product. Yes, it makes your face feel nice and tight right after you wash it off, however it has done nothing to control my oily skin. Try finding an alternative instead of wasting your money on this product. With that said....
I was watching Dr. Oz show, and he recommended trying Milk of Magnesia (NOT the flavor ones) as a mask for oily skin. I personally haven't tried it myself, but just wanted to share that information for those of you who are on a budget.

As opposed to the body soap, facial soap, and toner which were miracles in a bottle, I found this product ineffective! It has two main flaws where I'm concerned:
a. the liquidy consistency takes forever to dry out and
b. the liquidy consistency is not nearly thick enough. Thus, it doesn'tprovide nearly adequate exfoliation and cell turnaround or, in other words, its too week!
I use both the soap and the toner during the week, and they work wonderfully to eliminate 80% of the acne, but I need something to deal w/ the rest, and the scarring produced as a result. This product just won't cut it. If you're going for a mask just to pamper yourself and say that you did, this may work for you, but if you need something that really does its job where exfoliation and cell turnaround are concerned, look elsewhere!
