Sorry, but, I agree with another reviewer, that it is more of an intense fuschia, NOT a red. And, it came out extremely bright on me. I had done a search online for blue based reds, & this & Revlon's "Really Red" were listed as cheaper ones to try. Neither of these came out blue based red on me. I want a true cherry red. A true blue based red!

I absolutely LOVE this red lipstick! I have cool porcelain skin and this is a blue based red, that is just perfect! I was searching for a matte red that worked with my skin tone, wasn't dark, made my teeth look whiter and wasn't for yellow undertones. I bought the Refined Reds 3 piece set with the lipstick, lipliner and clear gloss for about $5. It doesn't get any better! I get complimented all the time!

I want to love this lipstick but for now I only like it. The color is great. Red, but not bright in your face red, its a darker red, more like a blood red with no brown. No orangey or pink tones either, and it doesnt go fushia. Very close to my current fav. NYX "snow white" but redder. Im thinking I actually like this color more than my "snow white" because "snow white" can be to dark if applied to heavy. However my issue with Red Revival is the lasting power and finish. I like fix it and forget it makeup. I can apply "snow white" in the am with a lipbush and it sets to matte and lasts all day on me even if at times it can be a bit dry. Red Revival is very creamy, almost messy as some have mentioned and it stays "moist". I have to apply and blot three times in the am and perfect it with a lipbrush to get any lasting power.I have to apply to bare lips because if I prep with foundation or powder first it feels to thick. I should probably try it with lip liner but thats one more step and one more product and I'm trying to streamline my makeup routine. Touch ups are a must with Red Revival, especially after a meal, but at least it fades evenly and doesn't completely disappear. Ill give this a go because I do love the color, maybe ill get used to the feel. Its not expensive and it can be found most anywhere. *Sigh* still looking for my HG cheap red lipstick

I have been looking for a red lipstick but I did not want to spend the money for an expensive one since I feel like red is such a seasonal color. I also feel like you have to be going for a specific look to wear a red shade of lipstick. I'm a 6.0 in MAC matchmaster and I absolutely love this color on me. It's bright but settle.
This definitely needs a lipliner and a lipbrush so you can get a precise application. The price is really good and I can't complain. The only downside of this is that it comes off easily. Once you start eating or drinking it just comes right off. I would suggest to line your whole lips with the red maybelline lipliner otherwise all the color of the lipstick will be gone and you are left with just the lipliner.

Maybelline Red Revival...what can I say about this lip color? Perfection! I am a dark ebony brown complexion so it was really difficult to find a red lip color I will feel comfortable wearing. I have never worn a red lipstick in my life and was always against a dark colored woman even attempting to wear red lipstick. Well I researched and found Maybelline Red Revival and fell in love with it. It is a blue based red and it is so beautiful. It is dramatic but not overly dramatic. If you are going to wear this color be sure to go natural on your eye lids....if you are going to wear an eyeshadow make sure it is a neutral color as this red lipstick makes your face pop so you don't need anything else drawing more attention. Be sure to wear a red color blush too! Love it, the quality is great and creamy and I will always repurchase. PS. Make sure you also apply the Maybelline Red Lipliner (No. 50) which will define your red lip even more.

I don't wear lipstick very often, so buying expensive brands would just be silly. This one goes on sale for really cheap.

This is the only red lipstick I own because it's extremely difficult to find a red that works with my pale skin. Red Revival is more of an intense fuchsia than a true red.

I line my lips with Maybelline lip liner pencil #50 Red and blot with a tissue after each application of lipstick.

I wore this to a wedding with 1940s-style hair and got tons of compliments. However, I had to touch up the colour several times through the night.

In summary, this isn't the best lipstick formula ever but it's a great budget option for women with pale/cool skin tones.

I paid about seven dollars for this, which is in the medium price range for drugstore products. Color is very pigmented, and very red. Has somewhat of a glossy finish and does not dry out my lips. Staying power is...minimal. It slips and slides quite easily, but I find that lipliner gives it more longivity. NOTE: it WILL come off when you're eating/drinking and will make a MESS.

Pretty, pigmented blue-red. Slightly bluer than my usual go-to bright red, NYC Retro Red (dupe of MAC Russian Red). I feel like this makes Retro Red more flattering on me. I'm fair and cool but have slight yellow undertones, and the blue-red of Red Revival is just a little off and garish on me.

The texture is very pleasant and more moisturizing than either Retro Red or my other red, Revlon Blackberry, but the finish is still satiny and not glossy. Feels nice to wear. Longevity is okay, although I haven't really put it to the test -- it does stay put in the short term.

I paid about $19NZD for this. I love the colour! In my opinion it's one of those red shades that will look good on everyone. Staying power is pretty good too, but not the best. Tends to dry out my lips after a few hours but I really do love this shade.

I like this color, but it does apply a bit more pink than it looks in the tube. I wear it when I want a deep, blood red and I apply a burgundy lip gloss over to get the dark color I want.

The texture is a bit dry, but not enough to bother me.

I've been wanting to try out red lipstick for a really long time, but was always afraid that the color might be too bold for me. I chose this lipstick after reading lots of reviews, and I am VERY impressed by this product. The lipstick is extremely pigmented, so one swipe is more than enough. It is also long-lasting and feels comfortable on my lips. I have included a picture with and without flash of the product on my lips, so hopefully that will give you a better idea of what the color is like. I actually do think it looks good on me, but I just need to get used to having such a bold lip color. It's a dark, vibrant red - much darker than I had expected.

This is a great shade from Color Sensational. It's a red you can wear to work, not loud or showy, just flattering. It is a blue-based red, makes the teeth look really white. I don't find this similar to most of the photos above, namely the first. On me, Red Revival is extremely pigmented and opaque with no suggestions of pink. It has the best lasting power of the Color Sensationals I have tried. I have plenty of MAC shades like this so I wouldn't repurchase (HATE the tacky packaging) but it's a great ds red lip.

Not going to lie, this lipstick kind of sucks. It has poor staying power and settles into the creases on my lips, creating an awkward, crackly effect. I also really don't like that it doesn't come sealed-- that could be really unsanitary in drugstores where some people decide it's okay to swatch or try on a new lipstick without buying it. Probably won't repurchase.

I would NOT buy this particular color again. Maybe a different one from the same line. I hate this color. I finally decided to get a red and this was not it. It comes across as being fuchsia when swiping it across the lips once. I need to layer it in order to get a RED look. Too much work. I expected a almost richer deeper red? A disappointment!

i love the colour of this. It has that whole pinup look to it and it does not wash out my olive complexion. The best part about this is that I can wear it by itself for that amazing true red look, or pair it with a sheer lipgloss to tone it down and make it more wearable for every day, as long as it is used with a light hand. I didn't give it 5 lippies because it does dry out my lips when I use it, but lip balm under can fix that. As well as I've seen cuter packaging, because I am a sucker for that. But other than that it is an amazing product. I will repurchase when it runs out

Gorgeous vintage red! I love the vintage pinup makeup look from the 1940's and its hard to find a great red lipstick to reproduce that look. I bought this for $5.50 and it's my new favorite red lipstick. The color is dense and creamy and is comparable to my MAC lipsticks. I love this Maybelline lipstick line!

I am looking for the most amazing true red lipstick, as I've had terrible luck getting lipsticks (that seem to look like a perfect red to my eyes) turning out to be very pink.

This lipstick is close to true red. It's dark. It's creamy and a little messy. So far I really like it, but I will keep looking for the best true red!

HOLY GRAIL RED! I am an NC15, well I would be an N15 if they made it. Everything I mean EVERYTHING turns either orange or fuscia on me. This is a deep blue based TRUE RED that does not change. I had searched for an entire YEAR for the perfect red and had settled on Delux Beauty's "Chili." But, as we all know, they went tits up. I was SO HAPPY to find this amazing replacement and not at high end prices. FABULOUS. My go to clubbing "retro face" lippie.
