Blech! This stuff was just terrible for me. It made my hair like straw. It dried it out and I had so much breakage that I wanted to cry. The shampoo isn't any better. It may work for some, but my hair which I would say is in the normal range and has some curl to it just didn't agree with this formula. Unfortunately it has scared me off from John Frieda products. Glad to hear it works for some though.

I enjoy trying new hair products and I'm always on the lookout for a HG conditioner/serum/etc. I always switch my shampoos/conditioners to different ones when my old ones run out just to try as many as possible. I really liked the root awakening shampoos, and I had high hopes for this conditioner as it is more expensive in terms of price to product. However, this conditioner has so far only served as an average conditioner for me. The smell is similar to and more over-powering than the L'Oreal Everstrong line. It doesn't leave a residue and does an okay job with leaving my hair relatively detangled and somewhat soft. However, after my hair is dried, it becomes a little straw-like, unless I use this conditioner in addition to another conditioner. Which totally defeats the purpose. I like John Frieda but this has so far been a disappointment.

I happened to try this bc my Mom bought it but I am so glad I tried it. I have really thick curly hair. It's so thick that peole always comment about how thick my hair is. This conditioner work really well with my curls. It is thick and creamy in consistency and it a little goes a long way.I always have good hair day when using this. I do think it is a bit pricey but all John Frieda products are. I have been using this daily for a few months and I highly recommend this conditioner.

I love Root Awakening Strength Restoring Conditioner. I did an experiment where I put Root Awakening on one side and Frizz Ease Smooth Start Conditioner on the other. Both did a great job detangling, but after styling, the Root Awakening was smoother and softer. Root Awakening side looked more healthy. The SmoothStart had more volume, but a bit more frizz. The ingredients are different. I used the Root Awakening shampoo on the whole head, btw.

Love, love, love this stuff! It made my hair so soft and lovely and I feel like it helped it grow faster? That might just be in my head though.

This is my fallback conditioner, I always seem to go back to it. It moisturizes well, and when I straighten my hair (which is almost every day) it makes it silky and shiny. It doesn't help breakage as much as I'd like it to, but still a decent amount. I gave it 4 lippies because it is a bit expensive for me; only because I'm a teenager low on cash. but I would definitely reccommend!

I have tried literally hundreds of hair products and have not once been alergic to a hair conditioner untill now.
After using the whole container of this toxic junk, I began to have a severe alergic reaction to it.
My eyelids became swollen and turned a pinkish color and the skin on my nose became dry and rash like.And on top of that, my scalp became itchy.
I am surprised how high this conditioner has been rated.
If you are sensitive to hair condtioners this is definitely not for you.
I will never buy this again.

Love this conditioner. I had been using John Frieda's Sheer Blonde line and received a sample of this product. Smells very nice, and the eucalyptus leaves a bit of a tingling sensation when you rinse it out. Invigorating in the morning, and leaves your hair soft and silky. Will definitely be buying again.

PROS:
* Makes hair really soft
* Smells very nice
* Adds a bit of shine
* Moisturizes hair
* Product isn't runny/watery

CONS:
* My hair still breaks sometimes

I don't use any other conditioners besides this one because..this is the best conditioner I've used!! (and also because I can't find any other conditioner that can do a decent job/or as good as this one). I don't have to wait 3 minutes for the conditioner to "set." I just massage it very well on the lower half of my hair and after like 30-40 seconds, I just rinse it out and it leaves my hair VERY nice and soft! But this conditioner doesn't really make my hair any "stronger." My hair still breaks from time to time so that's why I took one lippie off. But all in all, I like this because I don't have to wait in the shower for my conditioner to "work" ...but whenever I DO wait for 3 minutes or more (when I'm shaving or whatever), it makes my hair UNBELIEVABLY soft and my hair has NO tangles! Perfect conditioner if you have a boyfriend who likes to run his fingers through your hair!

I bought this to use along with the Root Awakening shampoo. The eucalyptus minty smell was nice, and I liked the tube packaging. But this conditioner was not good. The shampoo really tangled my hair, and this conditioner did nothing for detangling. The conditioner was also pretty thin and greasy feeling, which did not help my already very oily hair. The biggest disappointment for me was that neither this shampoo or conditioner restored any strength to my hair. I noticed my hair breaking and shedding more, which is why I decided to try this in the first place. After finishing the whole bottle, my hair was still breaking and falling out. I can't complain too much because this product was really cheap ($5-6 at WalMart), but I would never bother buying it again.

I'm on my second tube of this; I reviewed the shampoo when I first bought it.

My excitement over this shampoo/conditioner has kind of faded, but not in a bad way; now that I've used it for a while, I don't really see a big difference in breakage, but I never really expected to.

The scent is nice though; it was somewhat comforting to go back to this; it's very soothing and helps me wake up in the morning, without being an overpowering menthol-y mint, like some conditioners...(Tea Tree, maybe?)

The tingling effect is much more noticeable with the conditioner as you leave it in your hair, but still a very gentle, just noticeable tingling. I like that the mint isn't exaggerated or really advertised with this, it just happens to be there, like a little extra. I still dont notice a eucalyptus smell...it just smells like a sweet, herby mint. It's also not a particularly girly or manly scent; I feel like a lot of shampoo/conditioners (especially drugstore brands) smell like perfumes or flowers, hence the emergence of guy-specific haircare lines, and I like that my boyfriend can take a shower over here without worrying about smelling like a girl.

My favorite thing about the shampoo and conditioner is probably how light it feels, and how clean it rinses away. I definitely notice a difference from what I was using between my first and second tubes. No build up, and it doesn't overmoisterize or weigh down my hair.

Also, I really love the tube packaging.

Even though I don't really expect as much out of it, I actually like it even more now that I'm using it again.

Generally speaking, this is one of the best smelling products I have ever tried in my life. I recently found out Loreal tests on animals, and i ditched my color vive pro - the red bottle. I wanted something different anyhow. So i remember trying this at a friends house and loving it. Now i have to say that it does take a few washes, w both the shampoo and conditioner to get your hair to start feeling soft again, but i feel like it takes off all the buildup and exposes your real hair. Then after a few washes it starts to nourish your hair and feel soft again. I think this product is really great when used in combination with the shampoo. Over all, id say its worth a try.

I love this product. I have extremely dry curly hair. I usually pay a lot more for conditioners but I am traveling and I was in the supermarket and just picked it up. I bought it assuming that I would be unhappy with it and have to return it a few days later. I am all about natural products for my face but for my hair, I've always had better results from 'high tech' products (Biolage really works for me and I recently returned Joico which is supposed to work great...it just did not soften my hair (this stuff worked better!)).

I am soooo pleasantly surprised! I think that part of it is that my hair is seriously damaged from, ironically, over conditioning. I bought what I thought was a daily conditioner but was apparently an intensive mask and I used it every day. When my hair was somehow getting drier and duller, someone told me to always leave a bit of conditioner in my hair to soften it...do not do this! Ugh, a close friend who owns a salon told me that that's what messed up my hair...overconditioning and leaving conitioner in...that there's a reason we have conditioners and leave-in conditioners and that my hair had essentially OD'd on proteins. I just used this for the first time and my hair is soft again for the first time in MONTHS! I was planning on taking special vitamins because it was getting out of control and now it feels silky soft something I never thought I would get out of a John Frieda conditioner (I have spent my adolescence trying de-frizzing products and was always VERY underwhelmed by JF products).

I also don't equate mint with softness or conditionening (or I didn't, at least) but it's really nice smelling, not overwhelmingly minty.

This isn't the best conditioner I've ever used but I am shocked at how much I love it nonetheless. I also am not sure if it will keep working this well in a month or if my hair was just dying for something new. I will definitely update in a few weeks. Highly recommend to rejuvenate over-worked hair or for people with easy hair (I hate you by the way ;) who want something that smells good and also does the job without breaking the bank.

I used the shampoo and conditioner for about 2 months and it worked great on my hair. It left my hair feeling fresh and clean and minty when I got out of the shower. It isn't the greatest thing for extreme damage thought but if you have light damage and need a little bit of damage protection, then this is good. Another thing I noticed with this shampoo and conditioner was that I felt like I needed to wash my hair everyday or a lot more than I usually do with washing hair. But overall it is a very fresh and clean shampoo and conditioner and I would probably keep this in my rotation of shampoos and conditioners.

I love mint shampoos and conditioners. I decided to try this conditioner because I got a great deal at drugstore.com ~ buy a shampoo and a conditioner and take $5.00 off. This conditioner smells GREAT ~ It's nothing special, except for the minty scent. I left the conditioner on my hair for 15 minutes which helped to leave it silky soft. I have only used this conditioner twice, so I haven't since any breakage repair. I probably will not buy this conditioner again...

I love John Frieda Root Awakening conditioner. I tried a free sample of it and the scent had me hooked, so I bought the full size bottle. Switching from Suave Professionals to John Frieda was a huge improvement. My hair went from fried and brittle to soft, shiny, and bouncy. It really looks like I just left the salon. The conditioner is really thick and moisturizes so well, which is definitely what my hair needs. The only complaint I have is how much smaller the bottles are compared to other shampoos and conditioners I've tried, but it's definitely worth the price.

The shampoo is decent. Love the chocolate minty scent. The conditioner on the other hand, I did not like. It weighed my hair down and left a film on it. It's kinda pricey for such a small tube. I had a lot of hair loss too.

Right after the first time I tried this, I bought three more. The tingling minty feeling on the scalp is so refreshing and addictive. The smell is soapy and I prefer fruity smelling hair products but it's the minty cooling feeling on the scalps that makes this conditioner great. I've only used it three times and I already feel like my hair is healthier. It's not frizzy anymore and this isn't even an anti-frizz product. This made me realize that healthy roots/scalp does indeed lead to healthier hair. Will definitely continue buying.

I wanted to like this product, and had high hopes for it, since the Root Awakening line's shampoo and root spray are quickly becoming HG products for my hair, which is not only thin and fragile, but growing back (I lost around 1/3-1/2 of it about a year ago due to a medication). this product actually seemed to make my ends more fragile and brittle. i used the entire 1.5 oz sample that came with the trial kit, and it lasted me a couple weeks because my hair is so short and thin, now. while the root spray and shampoo in the trial set had me running to purchase the full sizes, i was happy when i finished this conditioner, and realized it had been what had been making my hair more brittle on the ends. the price is great, you can often find sales on it at Walgreen's, and the full size features a handy pop-cap; but my hair doesn't like it.

I love conditioners. So my standards are pretty high. This is a really great drugstore conditioner. It smells really good, it works well and has a nice cooling sensation on your scalp. I will be getting this one again when it's gone.
