I have used this mascara for years, and it has never disappointed, you can move your lashes to where you want them to be ie fan them out, it holds the curl all day, and as long as you are using an oil based cleanser, Bobbi brown, Mac or Clinique , even L'Oreal, it comes off easily .. Terrific product

This is my go to mascara, i'm surprised it didn't get better ratings!! I generally like waterproof mascaras but a lot of others i've bought seem to weigh down my lashes(even non-waterproof mascaras). I curl my lashes before applying mascara and when I apply mascara i want them to stay curled. It's got the best staying power too, i've been on nights out and woken up and my lashes look just as good as the day before! I haven't tired many other Max factor mascaras, but it seems they got the formula right for this one. I might try some more maxfactor mascaras now but i think it will be hard to beat this one :)

I used this mascara a long time ago, and it's not the worst mascara but it not great. It doesn't give that much volume to the lashes, and I had to apply it at least about 5 times to have my satisfy result.

I think this is a okay mascara.
It separate your lashes great and give it a niche lenght.
I doesn't give that much volume so i guess is better for people who wants long and separate lashes.
It doesn't run when your in the rain and it's easy to remove with waterproof eyemakeup remover.
I have it in Black/Brown and it's great for at natural look.
I think i only would use this in the summertime, while i'm on the beach or something.

This is my holy grail mascara! I have short, straight lashes that refuse to stay curled once I've curled them. However this mascara holds the curl all day and gives my lashes amazing length and volume! As its waterproof it lasts all day too.
The only negative thing about this mascara is that you only get 4.5ml of product compared to a regular mascara which normally has 8/9ml at least. But the pro's of this mascara definitely way out the cons and I would definitely recommend this mascara!

This has been my go to mascara for years because it gives a natural look, defining lashes and adding length. It gives some volume, but not loads (which is what I'm looking for). I've tried and really liked other mascaras but this one is still one of my favourites.

I've had about 6 Max Factor mascaras and I swear by them but this one was definitely the most disappointing of them all. It didn't seem to do much to my lashes, I've had the normal Masterpiece one and its miles better than the waterproof one maybe because the normal one is volume and definition whereas the waterproof one is high definition only.

I just bought it a month ago and so far I liked it. It is easy to apply and the brush covers every little lashes I have (considering the fact that I don't have that naturally long lashes, plus its straight :-( ) It gives length but if you want your lashes to be more dramatic don't use this one. It will just give you that natural-looking lashes with a bit of length and volume. It holds curls, it's not clumpy and doesn't smudge at all. For me, I use two coats because the first coat is just like your natural lashes. and unlike other mascaras, the ends of your lash has that slimming effect at the ends when you apply the second coat (if you know what i mean guys, it so hard to explain and i feel like nosebleeding right now because english is not my first language..pardon me.haha).. other mascara looks clumpy and fake upon application of the second coat because the coat on the ends is the same as the coat on the roots which is unnatural-looking. while i prefer a thicker coat near the roots and thinner on the tips, capish? :D anyways...
The downside of this product (for me, at least) is that it is a little bit expensive for a drug-store brand with only 4.5 ml content. and it's hard to wash off..but with a makeup remover it is not a problem anymore. :))

I hate this product. It doesn't really suck because it does add length and volume to my lashes... but only on good days. And those days are really rare. I usually have to use it with another mascara to get satisfying results... and I think that is not okay especially for that price! It doesn't hold a curl at all, which is a huge minus for me because my lashes are barely visible then. Oh and it clumps like crazy.

This is a ridiculous piece of crap. It doesn't work to anyones favours.
The texture is gloopy and messy. It dries on funny where you think that your eyeslashes will actually crunch and dess- integrate after touching them. Doesn't hold any curl, even with a decent eyelash curler. Does not come off. Does not even lengthen which is what it claims to do. No volume. Eyelashes look just as what they did before using it, except more hard and crunchy.
HORRIBLE! And I paid 25 for this in Myers, save your money for a better mascara, or better yet, go for a regular drugstore brand. Even they work better.

My feelings about this product are mixed up.
For me it works quite well, my lashes are naturally curled and pretty long too. I never really had a mascara before which made my eyelashes so long, but it´s like a lot of people already said thick and not really naturel, but I can life with that, the day that I wore this mascara people were complimenting me of the great length that it gave me.
but something I totally dislike is that I can't remove it!
it's sooo waterproof that it just stays on! I actually tried how long this would stay on without smudging and after three days with NO DIFFERENCE I decided that it was the best for my lashes to take it off. If you want a mascara which doesn't smudge (note: when it's dry!) and stays on véry long, then this is the perfect mascara for you.
Note: Does anyone know how to get this mascara of quick and good? 'cause it's really a hell of a job for me...!
Edit:
If you use a good (extra) waterproof make-up remover it will do the trick. I use Nivea Extra Waterproof make-up remover and I have no problems with removing this mascara anymore ;)

This is one of the best Waterproof mascaras i've used!!! I normally buy a waterproof mascara before i go away on holiday and i'm really glad i decided to give this one a go! Here's my lowdown on this mascara:
- lasts through humidity/rain/swimming/trips to the gym!!!
- goes on lovely
- no clumping
- gives length and a little volume
- nice size and shape brush
Would repurchase again and again!

Its great and this is coming from someone who has given up on YSL and lancome. Though it makes my lashes feel hard and this being one of my first drugstore mascara, it makes me wonder is it a common problem among drugstore mascara. I certainly hope not cos i only switched to drugstore mascaras after hearing that there's no need to spend 3 times the price for something exactly the same and just pay for the brand name. But anyhoo, the effect is great. It does not volumise as well as my ysl faux cil nor phenomen'eyes though... So thats a let down there. Gonna try loreal voluminous next.

You should know that my eyelashes are sparse, thin, with an average length and stick straight. I expect from mascara to hold a curl so that’s why I prefer the waterproof versions. My best friend got me these from the US in one of her trips and I was very excited to try it because I really wanted to test the new mascara brushes with rubbery bristles. At that time I think I was using Apple Super Lash mascara.
What I liked about this product was the overall good result I got. It was very good to define my eyelashes and held their curl perfectly. It gave normal volume and length but nothing too dramatic.
What I didn’t like about the mascara was that it left my eyelashes feeling hard and “crunchy”, it was not very buildable and didn’t have the glossy blackness that is to be found in other products (for example Apple mascara). The actual reason I stopped using this mascara was the removal: it was very difficult and back then I didn’t know the powers of baby or olive oils to remove mascara so I just gave up.
I don’t think I would actually repurchase this mascara but I am pretty sure that the washable version will work very well for those who have eyelashes that are not pointing downwards like mine. For us girls with straight eyelashes I think this is an OK product but I think there are other drugstore mascaras that can give more dramatic results and are easier to remove (like Maybelline Colossal Waterproof).

This mascara is ok. It's really waterproof, but it's not a masterpiece. It doesn't lengthen enough and doesn't give enough volume. It also smears a bit. Maybe the non waterproof version is better.

i have used this mascara for a really long time now. it doesn't push up your lashes or make them extremely long so its just a really nice mascara for the day time. i really like the brush because it separates the hairs really well.
the only annoying thing is that i still have not found a cleaning product to get the mascara easily off my lashes, but i can live with that.

To call this a 'Masterpiece' is not only a minor but a BIG exaggeration! I think that I actually hate it. It's the worst mascara I've ever tried. Not only do I dislike the brush, which tend to make my lashes look clumpy, I also find that the consistency is too, I don't know, "clumpy" in itself. Furthermore, it may be waterproof but I'm still left with a smudgy look around my eyes by noon 'cause this just don't "stick" to my lashes.
Unlike some of the other reviewers I neither find this mascara effective in curling effect - I just loose the curl after appliance - nor do I find it effective in longing and voluminizing my lashes. I actually think that the effect is minimal, if not non-existant, in my case.
My only pro for this is that it makes my lashes more black than they already are. But I guess this would be the minimum requirement to a mascara that is, tadaa! Black!
Overall, a poor product. Don't waste your money on this. I know I won't anymore at least. And for the one already bought, darn! What a waste!

My upper lashes are quite thin but I have a lot of them, and they are a decent length, but my lower lashes are virtually nonexistant.
* THICKENING - This mascara thickened my lashes decently, but maybe because the formula itself is so thick and gooey. On the first coat it didn't give me as much volume as I wanted, and so I applied a second coat. Big mistake! Immediately my lashes were clumpy, gluey and flaky. I tried to comb them through and instead achieved spidery lashes.
* LENGTHENING - Minimal, couldn't see any particular lengthening.
* SEPARATION - Very poor, all my lashes felt glued together even on the first coat. I wouldn't even consider putting any more coats than two.
* CURL HOLDING - Seemed fine.
* OTHER - The formula is so thick that I wouldn't attempt to put it on my lower lashes again. The smaller bristles did nothing to coat my lower lashes or the shorter upper lashes.
* VERDICT - This stuff really did not create a 'masterpiece'. It is extremely thick and virtually glued my lashes together. Thickens but does not lengthen. The smaller bristles are quite useless and it is impossible to coat shorter lashes. Would not repurchase!
* NOTE - Many people rely too much on their mascaras to give them long, curly lashes and are disappointed when they do not perform. You have to realise that the lash curler does half the job - the key to getting pretty lashes is to rely on your curler AND mascara 50:50. A Shiseido curler (as an example) gives MUCH more dramatic results than a brand-less $1 drugstore curler. I'm not about to launch into a lash curling 101 so go to the curler reviews for that. xD
EDIT: Few months later and I decided to give this mascara a second chance. The formula is a little drier now so it worked a tiny bit better, but I still disliked it. It's VERY black and volumises quite well. However the formula is still too thick and hard to control, and there were clumps that I couldn't comb out. The brush picks up WAY too much product even after wiping it. Didn't lengthen much, if at all. Does seem to hold a curl though. Also this is very very hard to get off. Raising it to a 3 for the volume and colour, but that's about all it deserves. Still not going to reuse or repurchase.

I hated this mascara. It was too much product on the brush, which made my lashes clump together. During the day, it would leave speks of the product on my cheeks because of the waterproof ingredients. It didnt separate my lashes at all, I had to use the Covergirl Lash Blash after applying the max factor mascara to help reduce the clumping.
Never would buy this again.
