Frigid is my first Urban Decay Shadow from the Deluxe collection of shadows. The color in the pan is a very dark blue (but on the skin it is a rich blue-based purple), I'm sort of at a loss as to what type of brush to use to apply this. The color is super-pigmented, so in my mind one needs to have a flat brush with super-compact bristles. The color looks great with a lavender on the lid (I use the one from the Dior 5-Color Palette in Incognito). This eyeshadow seems dusty to me , so care with application will be a must. Also, do not use a sponge-tip applicator to apply this, for some reason it altered the color and turned it a bubblegum pink. I think I might have had another light pink color on the applicator though, but I thought it was clean, so I don't know what happened! The one thing that I don't like is the packaging. The design on the lid is extremely artsy, graphic, and fun (a true piece of art), but I find the container a tad difficult to open, especially with my long nails.

I'm not really sold on this color. I was hoping that it would be like the rest of the Urban Decay Deluxe shadows and be super pigmented but it's not really. In the pan it's a beautiful rich color but on my eyelids it's just sort of "meh". I'll give it another chance on top of my new Eden primer from UDPP but I'm not expecting miracles.

I fell in love with FRIGID when I first got it. The dark violet purple base with the blue violet shimmer was PERFECT for what I was looking for. I love doing peacock looks and this seemed to be the perfect dark purple with iridescence.
I bought it and took it home. As time has gone by now that I play with it, I am so disappointed. It is very chalky and if put on regular skin it blows off the skin! When I tried it on the first time, I was summer and my skin was damp so it looked good at first. On my eyes, it does not stay put which is so disappointing for me.
When I play with the testers in the stores- it is HORRIBLE. So chalky that it does not stay on the skin either. I have to give this one lippie because what good is a shadow that won't stay on the skin? I would rather give it NO lippies.
I have tried it over bases and it just does not cut it for me. It is going back to Sephora. I want this color to work SO bady but it just doesn't. :(

Though I'm often put off by UD's normal shadows due to the "glitter bomb" aspect, I absolutely love their deluxe shadows. Frigid is a blue toned purple that has a sheen finish, which means no huge glitter chunks! It applies like a dream and has amazing pigmentation and staying power. It has a darker tone than UD Ransom, and the finish is not as "reflective". In other words, it is much more subtle. This could be paired with anything, from blues to greys to pinks, which makes it one of the more versatile deluxe shadows. I got Frigid instead of the other new purple deluxe shadow for Fall '09, Freakshow (red-toned purple), because Freakshow looked too similar to MAC Nocturnelle to me. I'll definitely purchase Frigid again if I ever run out, however unlikely that is.
