I got this in an Origins Black Friday set which I specifically bought for this mask.

I wrote a review for the Freemans Charcoal and Black Sugar clay mask which is similar to this and I had mentioned that someone said it was a dupe for this Origins mask, so I'm going to do a little bit of a comparison. Ok, here we go.

The Freemans mask is about 5 dollars and the Origins mask is about 25 dollars.
The Freemans mask is thin in consistency and the Origins is much thicker in consistency because I feel like there is much more charcoal in it.
On a scale of 1 to 5 , the Freemans mask heats up about 2.5 and dries in about 15 minutes, while the Origins mask heats up about 4 and takes about 30 minutes to dry.
The Freemans mask isn't drying due to the black sugar in it, but the Origins mask is quite drying, so I recommend for more oily skin types.
And lastly, the blackhead "removal" in the Freemans mask is minimum and the Origins mask is really good; I'm usually left with a few that I can easily get rid of.

So my final thoughts are the Origins mask is incredible and I really has changed my skin, but I find it too expensive to buy every 3 to 4 months. The Freemans mask is a great dupe for it. I don't think it performs as intensely as the Origins, but it is quite similar and easier on your wallet. If I had a good income, I would probably buy the Origins on a regular basis and buy it for all my friends, but until then the Freemans mask will do fine.

I love this mask, however, there are a few catches.
First of all, $24 US for 3.4 oz in my book is rather pricy. For this reason, I hold out all year to buy it when they do the $10 off special with free shipping. This mask is also far from being 'perfect', it's a good mask, but it's no life saver. Because it's so pricy, I only use it on specific regions of my face instead of slathering it all over.
Secondly, it is a b!tch to remove. Once it has fully dried you better prepare to have a large wet washcloth nearby to get it off because a few minutes of splashing is not going to be enough, it clings to your skin very well.
After all is said and done, I like using this on my 'problem' areas such as my chin and nose. Does a decent job lifting away debris and clearing up the area. One of my favorite ways to use the mask if to put a dot on top of congested skin that looks like it will become a whitehead or has formed as a whitehead but has not completely raised up- leave it on overnight and the area will have fully developed which allows for an easier purging of any junk so as to reduce pressure from popping a half-formed white head. (sorry for the grossness!)
Overall- if you have the chance to try this out I do recommend it, but be aware that there are other charcoal masks out there in competition now that aren't half bad (Freeman makes one).
If you're looking for a mask to make your skin softer, this one will do that but there are others that are much cheaper and will do a better job. This is truly best for those with acne, blackheads namely, and want a little bit of non-abrasive help in reducing/clearing up those areas. Hope this helps!

This broke me out very terribly. Maybe because my acnes are deep down inside the skin, not on the surface unlike many people (I don't know how to describe it, but my acnes are hormonal so the "gunks" are deep down inside my skin and its hard to get it out). But if you want to make your acne heads come up to the surface, this worth a try. But don't buy it if you have a similar skin to mine.

One of my favorite masks!! I hate when I put on a mask and it dries so hard on your skin that it feels like it sucks all of the moisture out of your skin but this one doesn't. It goes on creamy and smooth and dries without killing my skin.

After 2 to 4 uses of this product I noticed such a difference in my pores! It definitely gets rid of all your blackheads, I hardly couldn't find any. It's natural to have pores you can't completely get rid of them but this mask really does minimizes them. My skin has never looked better.

USE this product only once every week or 2 weeks especially if you have sensitive/dry skin and are trying to avoid breakouts. I was scared of breaking out with this product, so I first started applying the mask just in spot of my face to test out how my skin would react. I suggest doing that first if you are worried. This product does leave the area around my nose dry but I just apply moisturizer and use the mask minimally--everything is fine.

More details:
When applying the mask (especially with sensitive skin) I only put a thin layer on my skin because the product is already a pretty thick consistency. Only on areas where I need it, like my nose, is where I put a thicker layer. When I first applied the product on my face there was a tingling and stinging sensation around my nose but nothing painful. After the mask hardens, you just wash you face with warm water, I also use a towel rag.

I really love this mask. I had been using some cheapie drugstore clay masks and the Fresh clay mask (discontinued, wahhh), but a travel-size of this caught my eye during Sephora checkout. My small tube has lasted well over 3 months, because I don't find I need to do a full face mask very often--my skin has been behaving, finally. I primarily use this product as a long-term spot treatment, I've even slept in it before because when it dries, it doesn't budge! I have normal skin with T-zone oiliness and hormonal acne, and while a dab of this mask on an emerging monster doesn't make it disappear, it definitely tones down the severity and prevents further eruption. If you have dry or sensitive skin, you may not like this product as it's a workhorse on oil. However, I love it and would definitely repurchase--I'm going to get another of the small sizes because I just don't use it up that quickly.

well, I finished half tube of the product. i cannot tell if this product is doing anything to my skin (nothing improved, nothing got worse). i have combination skin, the surrounding area of my nose is quite dry and sensitive. the mask burns over this area. so ill have to avoid any sensitive areas, only use it on the tip of my nose, forehead, and chin. not very impressive, not the best product.

Bought this to try and clear up this random acne I got. I've been using twice a week for a few weeks now and while it hasn't cleared it completely it's done a pretty good job. It does bring EVERYTHING up so you'll breakout the day after or two days after you use it. Which I don't mind because that's fewer breakouts I'll have later on. But if you follow the breakouts with the spot clearing gel they go away after 2-3 days.

I'm sad to say that this didn't do anything for me. Having tried the Out of Trouble mask which I love, I had high hopes for this supposedly "blackhead clearing" product as bamboo charcoal-based products have been very popular in the recent years. Other than it drying my skin out - it left me with a peeling nose - I noticed no other improvement.
