I purchased this a while ago, tried it and hated it. However, I think I corrected the error of my ways and now find this oil is particularly effective for me during the winter. I have combination, acne prone skin that has become sensitive over time. I consider this a treatment and not a moisturizer - it doesn't take the place of anything in my routine. After cleansing, I add this mixed in with my toner (I like the Body Shop Vitamin E spray) and apply to my face with my hands (drop in palm, spray palm, apply). The key for success in using this product was getting the right amount. I received a small sample of Kiehls' Midnight Recovery which had the perfect size medicine dropper that I have repurposed to dole out the exact amount of this oil. This has changed everything for using this product. I think when I had used it before with poor results, it was because I was using too much and becoming irritated. Now, I find it works more effectively and efficiently. My skin is looking less congested and less flaky. Though I have oily skin below, I am topically dry. I am not sure if it deserved HG status, but it does mitigate the seasonal dry skin I get during the harsh winters without breakouts.

I love this product! I like that it is all natural and even though it is oil on your face, it makes your skin feel nicely moisturized and not super oily (if you put the right amount on). It doesn't make your skin completely matte, but I have found it has definetly stopped it getting extremely oily
My only issue with this is the packaging, the bottle leaks everywhere! and it is very annoying -don't take it in your bag!

This is amazing for my skin!! I had really, really oily skin, especially on my nose and since i use this my pores look so much smaller and I just do NOT GET oily anymore! Sometimes I still shine a little bit but then I plot it away and thats it. Before that I looked like an oil sleek! It sinks best into the skin when your skin is still a little wet after the cleansing! It does not sink into dry skin, so watch out that your skin is damp! Dont like the package though..

Never ever put this on your face if you have a tendancy to break out. I liked the philosophy of this product and the entire line but it's not suitable for acneic skin. I thought I'd try being gentle with my skin as I had just started differin and it was winter and my skin was going through a lot. But my god did this back fire. I ended up with the most inflamed skin and tiny spots all across my cheeks and jaw. It was like I had a 1cm thick red layer on the bottom half of my face. And no this wasn't just an allergic reaction, or because I was just starting differin, it's the oil. i came off it and my skin started to reocover. It did nothing for my pores. Just another Hauschka product that smells nice but doesn't deliver. In this case buyer beware!

A really good find for me. I have very enlarged pores on my cheeks which to be honest nothing could fix them and I've Come to accept the fact, but they certainly get very oily along with the rest of my face. At first I hated this it wouldn't sink in and was impossible to apply my bare minerals, then I studied how to apply properly and I had been using a moisturiser afterwards so I became more Oilier. So after stopping my moisturiser this really has worked yes it seems strange at first quite sticky and not the best smelling! But when I checked my make up at lunchtime my skin was still flawless with no oily shine at all which is a miracle for me. This really does help my excessive oil production and with that comes less spots. The dispenser isn't the best on a negative note quite flimsy and you have to be careful to only half pump. But I would recommend giving this a try especially if you have enlarged pores and oily skin.

I really like this oil. It works as it says and is really effective for balancing oil on combo or oily skin. It's surprising, because most oils make my face greasy. I did a full review here: http://www.ourwonderlust.com/ourwonderlust/ourbeauty-dr-hauschka.html

I really wanted to love this as I believe oil does help regulate oil production but the only part of my face that is truly oily is a small section of my forehead. I still went with the s/a's recommendation to use this all over my face and after 2 days I developed welt-like pimples on my nose and cheek. So incredibly painful. I stopped using this and cut back on the cleansing cream and toner and my skin looks way better. I have clogged pore problems but def not acne so I really don't get why the s/a urged me to use the oily skin kit. I also did some research and it appears that sensitive skin like mine sometimes reacts to essential oils in natural products not to mention this line is loaded with alcohol. Meh wish it couldve worked

I've tried this years ago and it helped my skin soooo much. I used to have very very oily skin and it didn't matter how many "oil-free" products I used I was still oily. An estethician recommended this and at first I thought 'the last thing I want on my face is more oil but it did work! Just 2 drops in the morning did the trick. It really controlled the excess oil and moisturized the dry areas. Now that I'm older (34) my skin isn't quite as oily but if I notice excess shine I start using it again. this also works for dry skin. My mom has dry skin and she just started using it.

I love the smell, the best way I can describe it is it smells like a spa.

CONS
1. The pump sucks, it leaks and wastes a lot of product. I hope they change this soon.
2. The price, $42 for an ounce is pricey for me, but it will last you for a very long time.

I would recommend this product to any person who has problems with very oily skin.

I've been using this for a couple of weeks now and I can say it has already healed some of the blemishes I've had on my face from using Dr.Hauschka's Rose day cream light. It somehow pulls/pushes them out so that I don't have to do anything else:) I know now that beeswax is the culprit behind the blemishes so I just need to stay away from it.

As long as I do that, Dr.Hauschka line is doing very, very good things to my skin (I also use the toner, cleansing milk, and normalizing ampoules at night). I truly believe you get the results they promise when using these products together, as they support each other in taking care of your skin. So, back to reviewing this oil: it takes a while to sink in, but once it's done my skin is supple, rested, calm yet well moisturized. And what I love best: here is the first product that really has shrunk my large pores. <3

I received a sample of this with a skincare kit. Like everyone, I really wanted to love it, but the range really did not work for me. I broke out like crazy (especially from the EVIL clay mask) but persevered until the end of all of the products - so I know that I wasn't purging, the products just weren't for me. This is the last product that I have left , and I'm currently using it at night under a night cream. I don't feel like it has broken me out, per se, but it certainly isn't having any beneficial regulating or hydrating effects, and it doesn't sink in very well, in my opinion, so I am just looking forward to using this up and getting it off my dresser - definitely not a good sign!

I really wanted to like this. The idea of an oil normalizing and stabilizing oily and acne-prone yet sensitive skin to its natural healthy state intrigued me. The ritual of applying and massaging the oil into the skin feels luxurious and I love the herby smell. However, after using it for a couple of weeks my skin didn't get any better but turned for the worse with inflammations, dry patches and more clogged pores. In the idea of homeopathic remedies (which Dr. Hauschka products are based on) an initial worsening is considered part of the healing process so I continued using it. But it only got worse and worse and after seeing my regular facialist who asked if I'd changed products as my skin was dry and flaky yet broken out, I stopped using it. If your skin is oily but not sensitive I'd give it a try, but otherwise stay away from it.

I have super oily skin and while this product did not totally stop oil production, it helped a little. I came to realize my oil problem was totally hormonal when I had my baby and my skin was absolutely PERFECT the 3 weeks before I had her, and the 3 weeks after. So I came to the stark realization that no non-prescription product is going to solve my problem (probably a good epiphany so I can stop experimenting with topical beauty products.) Regardless of that, I did find this product to control oil a little better and to prevent breakouts, I didn't need my topical acne prescription when using this. It is expensive but lasts a long enough time. It soaks in nicely with a non-shiny/non-greasy finish. I found it was perfectly fine under makeup, but perhaps thats because my skin is oily anyway and i'm used to having to blot and refresh my concealer. I very strongly believe that oil production is an internal thing, whether it be hormones or diet (apparently dairy is evil for this), so you can't expect a drastic change without changing your diet, or reducing stress etc. All in all not exactly a miracle product, but I like the concept of using 'like with like' and it seemed to work in ways I have since given up on expecting on mattifying moisturizers doing!

I tried this , when I was in my twenties. I had some problems with my skin and thought, this oil would be the solution for the impurities on my chin. I was wrong.
I had combination skin with impurities and struggled with dehydration. Needless to say, that I was the wrong candidate for a product for oily skin, although the description also says it calms the skin, reduces inflammations and controls sebum.
The philosophy of this product is to combat oily and impure skin with oil. What I didnīt know at that time -and thatīs why I write this review- that this oil has some serious pore-clogging ingedients that can make you break out like hell if youīre acne-prone. Wheat germ oil and cocoa butter are among the list of highly comedogenic ingredients (from 0 to 5, they are both a 5).
Needless to say that this oil stayed on my skin, made my skin even worse and clogged my pores.I held on because the company wrote, that it could come to worse skin-balance before the skin clears up. My skin never cleared up, but got worse.I had dehydrated skin and the oil left a greasy film on my poor thirsty skin. And I got serious problems with underlying impurities on my already impure chin-area.
I used this together with the other recommended products from Dr. Hauschka like the toner and the lotion for oily, impure skin, not as an individual product. So if you tend to impurities and clogged pores, make sure you donīt have a problem with the ingredients.
From the ton of reviews, I get the impression that either this product works miracles for you or it has a devastiating effect on your skin. That depends on how your skin reacts towards the oils and cocoa butter. Not every oily, acne-prone skin is alike and this product proves it more than enough.
In my case, the ingredients like oils and butters, that are defined as comedogenic, do really clog my pores. But thatīs my skin and I tested many oils and butters and can tell for sure to which ones Iīm reacting. Just be aware of the facts.

First off, the smell is divine, really yummy. It goes downhill from there sadly, because it doesn't stop the skin becoming oily and doesn't absorb well, seeming to sit on top of the skin all day without sinking in to do its work. Pretty useless but it smells lovely. I'd wanted to like this but there's really no functional reason

I really really wanted this product to work for me. I tried it about 2 months ago, after a few days I noticed my skin was glowing. I was using the whole regime, the exfoliating cleanser, clarifying toner and the normalizing oil, I didn't notice any changes after 2 weeks (in terms of normalizing my oily skin) but I kept hoping it would work, so clever me decided to add on the rejuvenating mask. 2 days later, I developed the worst whitehead breakouts I have ever had along my jaw. Awful, I couldn't even go out in public, they looked like rashes but were whiteheads. I came on here to find if people had similar reactions, researched google and even called the company. Same answer "your skin is purging" it was terrible. so I stopped using the oil and mask immediately and started on proactive to clear up the mess, which it did but not completely. its been 3 months since the flare up and I still have small pimples that proactive just doesn't clear up. I struggled about writing this review, because I did not want to discourage users, but given the experience I've been through, I think people ought to know what they are getting into. It works for some, but definitely did not work for me at all.

12/11/11 - it's been about 5 weeks since I stopped using dr. H and about 3 wks after I stopped using proactive to clear up my face.
I started using Johnson & johnson baby shampoo to wash my face and nothing else on my face, it's been about 3 weeks of clear skin, clearer than I have ever had. Sticking to J&J to cleanse my face.

One of my biggest skin problem is its sebum regulation. I have a very oily T-zone and it's a bother when it makes my bangs greasy on shampoo day +1. Sadly, the normalizing day oil is one of Dr. Hauschka's products that doesn't hold all its promises for me.

I used this product with and without the moisturizing day cream for a few months, as recommended for combination skin, but it hasn't greatly improved the oil production of my skin. Sometimes my skin would feel matter, sometimes shinier. There was no constant. Moreover, even if it's a dry oil, I found that it'd still leave a greasy film on my skin. It's not useless but not what I was expecting when you have to buy 2 products to get the effect of 1.

It works for everything else though. My skin became almost pimple-free (if you exclude the before periods cycle), glowy and smoother. I think I haven't had this skin texture since my early days! Ironically enough, it just doesn't work as a normalizing oil on me.

If you're a combo skin, I'd greatly recommend Dr. Hauschka's Melissa Day Cream instead (review coming soon on this HG day cream when I can create the page product). It didn't exist when I got to know the brand, which is why I first purchased this oil. Now that there's no way I'm going back to it after discovering the melissa cream, I'm finishing the bottle as an eye makeup remover.

I've added this product to my regular Dr. Hauschka regime for about a week now. It works on my sensitive/combination skin. T-zone is much better toned, and pores are less visible. It absorbs faster than I originally thought, and even faster if mixed with moisturizers. For even better oil control of your t-zone in summer, i recommend adding a layer of D.H.'s translucent compact.

I have to say that my skin is very sensitive when it comes to creams. The funny thing is that it likes oils, water infusions, and aloe. I think I am sensitive to the emulsifiers of creams (emulsifiers unite oily with watery ingredients). So no more creams for my face anymore..

I just love the cleansing effect that oils can have on the face. And this is a really nice oil. Does its' job very well, I have to admit. Since I started using it I feel my skin cleaner, glowing, tighter.

After cleansing, I put a small amount on my palm, and warm it up. Then i apply it on my face with a gentle massage. I use it day and night after the cleansing.

This takes about an hour to absorb.. I mean I can't even put on my make up after using this, it proper oil slick and nothing will stick. It does leave my face really soft though. So far I haven't noticed my acne and oily skin getter better. It does seem to absorb better with a bit of the rejuvenating mask used sparingly on top but still feels heavy anyway... I'm going to try this combo for a few weeks and see if they'll be any major changes to my skin.

I was excited to try this natural product but was disappointed. I have combination skin / bordering oily skin and I was looking for something to keep the oil under control. I was intrigued by the concept of trying 'like on like,' as well the natural ingredients, so I decided to try the normalizing day oil. Unfortunately I found that my skin did not absorb the oil at all. It basically just sat on my face and underneath the oil, my skin felt dry. It was a very strange feeling. On top of this, I developed very painful (and large) acne on my temples and some smaller zits on my forehead (I have never broken out in these areas before). Now that I've stopped the product, the acne is fading. Also, I don't wear foundation or powder anymore, but I could not imagine putting make up on top of this product, that is how heavy and greasy it felt. Oh, and the bottle leaked at the base whenever I used the pump. It was messy.
