I bought this in three colors, black, brown, & plum which I never opened and cannot find! If you have the time for the extra steps this liner is amazing and does last well over my twelve hour work day! I love the Audrey Hepburn look and use the black liner on the top and the brown on the bottom. It gives off a bit of a smokey look that is oh so flattering! The eyeliner is definitely still there and very pigmented, but the shadows that go on over it give it a subtle smokey look that I love. Because I work such long hours there are days I don't have the time or energy for this extra step, but when I do...wow...my eyes look fantastic until I take them off.

I got this set in brown. The pencil is actually a bronze rather than a brown. I ADORE this color and the pencil lasts all day with or without using the powder that comes with it.
The only drawback to this set is the price. I've nearly finished the pencil and it costs over $20 to replace. Too expensive for my blood right now, but if there is a great deal on QVC I will pick it up again.

I love to watch Mally give beauty tips and techniques and I find her advice very helpful. I bought this eyelining system in brown, desperately hoping it would perform as stated. I tried and tried again to make it look good on my eyes because the color of the pencil is beautiful--the brown is really more of a pinky-lavender-metallic cool (as opposed to warm) brown shade, with the covering powder being more of a basic brown shade. I had no luck whatsoever. The pencil looks great on my hand, but won't show up on my eyes. Also I felt it worth mentioning that somehow, between the pulling and tugging with the waxy pencil and the applying of the additional layers of the two powders, my eyelids end up very crepey and wrinkled looking and no amount of that brown cover powder can cover up this textured appearance! It ages my eyes and I am only 36.

I think I bought this on the strength of Mally's charm. The kit is nothing special and comes with excess packaging--a metallic vinyl pouch that I found unnecessary. Although Mally talks about the three products having special adhesive qualities, it's the same adhesion you get from setting any cream powder. The same concept can be duplicated for far less money with a Styli-Style waterproof pencil, a jar of Ben Nye's neutral set powder, and a matte powder shadow, brow powder or cake eyeliner in the same shade as the pencil.

I have this in the Topaz.
It is a gorgeous warm colour, a real brown with subtle shades both lighter and darker than the base colour, and some glimmer to it. Definitely not matte. It is a yellow brown, not a red brown, or a grey brown - which is what you would expect from something called Topaz.
It is more phaff to apply than normal eyeliner, because it is 3 stage - first one layer of colour, then the white powder, then a second layer of colour. I have seen Mally demonstrate in the order pencil-white-powder, and powder-white-pencil, so I guess it doesn't make much difference which you use!
But the phaff is worth the effort because you get to have more control than with just a pencil. I like a soft smudged line to my eyeliner, but this could be built up as much as you liked. I wish she would bring out other colours, because this is my HG liner. I don't wear black, and I'm not puting blue with blue eyes, so I just have the Topaz, but a green, a plum and a purple would fit very nicely into my makeup tray.
And it LASTS!!! I go to the gym after work a few times a week, and I apply this liner at 7.30 am, work 9-5, trundle over to the gym, work out for over an hour, shower, lounge in the spa for 40 mins, shower again, and come home with my eyeliner looking as fresh as it started. I think that is pretty d*mn impressive.
It comes off really easily when I want. I don't need to use any fancy extra strength makeup remover, just an oil-free and a cotton bud. On Mally's website she does demo videos of every item, and I think it is there that she mentions that the system relies on peptides to adhere to the skin, contained in the white powder. Anyway, this seems to make the liner last well, but roll off the skin when rubbed, when wet. So as long as you don't rub your eyes while chopping onions, or crying, it is going to stay put.
The only thing I have to say that is potentially negative is that after wearing it for 7 days straight (taking it off each night), I got a blocked pore on my waterline. It wasn't a stye, but it was sore for a day, then came to a small white head and cleared a day later. Coincidence? Very possibly, but I have never had such a thing before. If it happens again, I will update the review, otherwise just assume that the spot was totally unconnected to the eyeliner!

I've had great results with the cancellation concealer, primer, brow and lip kit, so I was expecting this to be a great product. Unfortunately, I was wrong. This eyeliner did not give me the results I was hoping for. It smudged big time! I've been hoping to find something to help me with a smoky eye look and I was sure this would be the one. But I was wrong. I'm prone to teary eyes so I wasn't expecting miracles. But for this price, I was definitely expecting more than 3hrs worth of wear. I gave it a 2 because the top lid didn't budge, just the bottom one. But I don't need to pay $27 for liner to line my top lid when the Revlon Colorstay liquid liner or Jane Iredale liquid liner does this just fine for a fraction of the cost. The only reason I bought this was to achieve a smoky eye look. It didn't deliver.
EDIT: 7/13/09 A friend suggested that I not use the black finishing powder on my lower lid to see if I'll still get smudging. She was right! I got very minimal smudging after working all night. This really did last. Since I was working and sweating alot there was some fading, on my lower lid, by morning. Otherwise, everything was good. So it would appear the the liner and white powder DO deliver results but it's the finishing powder that does the smudging. I've increased my rating because of this :)
