I have been using this product for quite a few months now and I really do like it. First of all, it makes my foundation look more natural - as though it is just my skin. It also smooths my skin out and fills in my pores - literally giving my skin the "velvet" finish that its name claims.
However, it took me a while to get used to this primer because you really have to let it sit on your skin for a while before you apply your foundation...to avoid having a hot mess all over your face. If you do wait (and put on your eye makeup, do your hair, etc.), then it gives that amazing finish that I love.
Overall, I will repurchase this product - whenever it is that I run out (I don't need very much), despite its steep price for a drugstore product.

The packaging was really the only thing I liked about this product. The pump was nice and somewhat sanitary. However, this product broke my skin out like no tomorrow. It felt pretty greasy on my face too. It did smooth everything out and make my makeup go on nicely, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with oily skin, such as myself. "Gosh" this was a waste of money...

This review is for the version of this primer that is pink tinged and purports to be anti-aging due to the matrixyl ingredient.

This is the best primer I've ever used. Light, great slip, very little needed. Makeup looked better and better as the day went on. I have enormous, crater-like pores and this fills them in so that I don't get clogged with foundation.

I doubt the matrixyl is in a concentration that would have any discernable impact, but it won't do any harm.

The pump action is superior to Smashbox's, I feel. And the slim plastic bottle can withstand a good deal of abuse and takes up less counter space. Great design.
$23 (on sale for $18) at Shopper's.
