Out of all my NARS, MAC, Chanel, Bobbi brown, UD and Trisha McEvoy eyeshadows THIS is the one that my boyfriend loves on me. This is one of the only eyeshadows he's ever complimented me on. That probably doesn't mean much to some, but my SO despises that I wear makeup Everday so it's crazy to me that he loves this e/s on my brown eyes. I actually owned this a few years ago, but purged it because I thought the taupe/silvery shade was too frosty. I purged it, but decided to give it another try and bought it on sale for $7.99 at Walgreens. It is worth every penny for the taupe shade alone. It's Metallic-y but not overly so and it is everything that I wanted MAC wonderwinked to be. It looks Great alone but I love it with some MAC sketch in the outer v and crease and lots of black liner and lashes, it's great for day time and easy to play up for going out. I don't mess with the dark purple color much because I don't think the pigmentation is great, but the taupe color is perfection. I've been such a HE/ME makeup snob for so long that I have neglected DS gems like these. The quality of this e/s is better than most of the eyeshadows I own. Love it

I can't believe I waited so long to try this.

I always stalk L'Oreal's HIP shadows when I'm doing some Target shopping, and though I love the Crystal ones, they are just to shiny for day-to-day workwear. However, I ran out of my beloved L'Oreal Bronze Star duo and needed something new to try - so I picked this up.

I love the silvery taupe color - thankfully it's not too silver - instead it's a lovely neutral with some clout, which I love. The purple shade is a lovely brownish purple with some shimmer - looks great on its own or layered over dark brown liner.

The quality of this shadow line is amazing - easily the best bang for your buck when it comes to drugstore shadows. They have a elastic quality when applied - soft, velvety, and no drag on the eyelid. The pigment is amazing.

I always use primer with all my shadows, but I don't notice these transferring, fading, or anything else.

For my heavily green-toned hazel eyes, this is a great look. Highly recommended.

L'Oreal hits a home run.

Mid range price, lame but adequate packaging.

But inside, wow!

Pigment rich light silvery beige and shimmery plum. Beautiful!

Other than price and packaging, can't tell the difference in quality between this and their Lancome eye shadows.

This is the prettiest, most flattering eyeshadow duo ever. As a fair (NC20-25) Asian, I thought I'd give it a try since it looked so damned good on Jen (frmheadtotoe) in one of her tutorials. I of course thought I'd totally mess it up on myself, but it's just great! I don't really go through all the blending and drama that she does, but I do love the look I get, even when I keep it really simple. I use the NYX Vanilla Sky like Jen for the browbone highlighter. If I was limited to only one eyeshadow product for some reason for the rest of my life, I would pick this one.

This is my first HIP duo. I have ignored this line in the drugstore for years because I was sure it was just a waste of money. This is around $8 and beats many brands in quality. The shimmer shades from HIP seem to be the best. The left side is an icy taupe, almost champagne, and it has no grey, brown, or purple tones. The right side is a satin finish purple. Just enough purple pigment, but dark enough for the crease or as a liner. They're both soft and buttery smooth.

I absolutely adore this eyeshadow duo. I first learned about this duo last fall through a youtuber, and I loved it so much on her I felt I needed it :). It's stunning and very pigmented. I feel that the texture is comparable to Urban Decay, it's very buttery, very shimmery, very beautiful! Great for a light smokey eye look. The eyeshadow is extremely easy to blend, and the silvery taupe shadow goes perfect with the dark purple eyeshadow!

Words cannot express how much I LOVE the lighter shade in this duo! It’s a stunning, shimmery, silvery-taupe. Applied lightly, it makes a lovely, shimmery base shade (that looks beautiful with deeper taupes & purples). Applied more heavily, it’s a rich metallic that makes a great base for a smokey eye. Its so versatile and flattering, I just love it. It applies smoothly, with little to no fallout, and it wears all day over a primer.

The darker purple, on the other hand, was just a bit too dark for me as a lid/crease color. While it seems to have a touch of shimmer in the pan, it mostly looked matte on me and just looked ‘dirty’. I found this worked better, for a while at least, when applied wet as eyeliner. Unfortunately, applying wet completely ruined the texture of the shadow, and hardened it so much over time that I can’t use it at all now.

I got this for $1.20 at Big Lots when they were having an awesome closeout on HIP products, and its worth 10x that for the lighter shade alone! I’d recommend this duo if you like cool-toned metallics. Even the purple is a nice shade, the texture just wasn’t well suited for me as an eyeshadow. I’d repurchase, should I ever have the need.

I have several of the metallic eye shadows (Gilded, Platinum, and Sculpted), and I must say that Electrified is the best shade of the ones I own ~ Platinum runs a close second. The lighter shade is close to a taupe color, but it's not really taupe. It has a fair amount of shimmer, and I try to ton it down with a matte shade, especially if I wear it during the day.

Most purple shades do not look good with my skin tone ~ not sure why because I have brown eyes, but most purples pull too red on me. This purple shade is very pretty, and I've been layering it over the lighter shade for a fantastic look. Layering the dark shade over the light gives it a very smokey look. Next time I use this shadow, I am going to use the light shade wet as an eye liner.

This is my current favourite. I've been wearing this duo the most lately because it has the best pigmentation that I've come across from these HIP shadows. I wouldn't have thought that taupe and purple would pair so well together, but they do! They have a metallic-like finish and a buttery texture.

I love this eyeshadow duo! It looks amazing with brown eyes. It is the perfect shimmering taupe. It is like every metal combined; silver, gold, copper, etc. It is PERFECT and lasts all day! The other side is gorgeous too. It is a plummy, purple-ish brown that looks amazing with the other color.
It looks really good with Revlon's Vintage Lace eyeshadow as a highlight, by the way.
I LOVE it!

One of my favorite HIP Duo's. I own 11, but this one Electrified is a special duo:-). Both colors are beautiful, high shimmer with no fallout. Soft, blendable with great pigmentation. Either can be worn alone on my skin. One color is a golden taupe and the other a deep eggplant purple. I use my HIP cream eyeliner in Eggplant with this duo. Especially pretty in the Fall.

I love the L'Oreal HIP shadow duos, and this is probably my favorite one out of all of them. I have dark brown eyes and fair skin. The lighter shade is a pale golden shimmer, which works well as an all-over color, or as a browbone & inner corner highlight. The dark purple is gorgeous as a lid & crease color. The colors are nicely pigmented and they do last very well. The quality of these shadows is up there with most department store brands - they are a great drugstore value. I take off 2 lippies on packaging (my only gripe about this product) because the bottom compartment is wasted space & plastic, with the useless little sponge applicator. As soon as I buy these, I take it out and throw it away so I don't have to listen to it rattling around. L'Oreal could do away with that, save the packaging and save us all some money. Otherwise I love this and will definitely repurchase.

This is most certainly one of my favorite drugstore products ever. Both shades in this duo are amazing, but the pale metallic taupe is especially awesome because there's really nothing like it in the drugstore. I have somewhat oily lids, but I can wear these shadows without primer and still have them last all day. They're intensely pigmented (as the name implies) and the color payoff is phenomenal. I have no real criticism other than the little sponge applicator in the bottom chamber is basically useless. Otherwise, this is an amazing product.

One of my favorite e/s duos from the drugstore. The colors are awesome! Iove the soft golden color for all over the lids and then I use the darker brownish purple color in my crease. They look great together. Be careful when using the golden color. It's very pigmented and if you are going for a day look, it may be a bit too much if you pack on too much. I would use a light hand for day and pack it on for a nice & dramatic night look. Sometimes I just use the purple/brown color in my crease with other shadows. It's a great find. I would have never gone for this but I saw it on a blog and checked it out. So glad I did. Try it, you'll love it.

I love the purple shade but that silvery one is really bad. Im not someone who is afraid of a bold eyeshadow but that silvery color is just a little too "tranny" looking for me. lol

I have owned so many of these duos... probably 10 or so... and this is my all-time favorite. There are no words for the lighter color. I have never seen anything like it. I would call it a very shimmery, cool, champagne-y light gold. Weird, I know. The effect on the eye is STUNNING. It's like I foiled it... without foiling it. And, even though it's super-shimmery, it's not a glitter bomb... I didn't experience much fallout at all. I am just amazed by this. And let's not forget the darker color... it might be my favorite purple ever, because it's purple without being PURPLE (does that make sense?). It perfectly complements the lighter color. Sometimes these HiP duos don't make sense when worn together, but this one does, for sure.
Today I wore this with the lighter color on the lid blended up to the brow bone, MAC Satin Taupe blended into the crease, and the purple color on the outer V. I added purple-black eyeliner and mascara, and voila. It might be my favorite eye look I've ever created.
Seriously, try this.

My favorite of the L'oreal HIP Duos and I have seven. This is one is a cool-toned golden taupe (like a shimmery champagne mushroom) and a dark cool-toned taupey brown plum. Excellent color payoff colors work together splendidly. Really nice on my grayish green eyes. Love this and would by again. Even though the Crystal and Metallic duos (this one is metallic) have shimmer in it. There are no obnoxious glitter chunks in them that fall out and are just too ostentatious. Just really pretty and sparkly enough to just make your eyes look brighter. Love this and all L'oreal Hip dous.

I have been using HIP Wicked for several years. But because I'd used the dark purple shade with a damp brush as a liner, the shadow wasn't coming off onto a dry brush very well any more. I changed to cream liner and like to "set" it with the dark purple shadow.

So I found Electrified last night, and bought it, wishing I could have checked MUA first. NO NEED! Awesomely beautiful shimmery taupe shade. I haven't tried the purple yet but will tomorrow. Very pretty eyeshadow.

BUY THIS. No seriously, as soon as you can, buy it. If you like neutrals, or just eyeshadow in general, you'll absolutely love this duo. It's my favorite HiP duo. It's incredibly pigmented. The color on the left looks so gorgeous when applied. It's looks like it was foiled when it wasn't. Such metallic shimmery gorgeousness. The color on the right is wonderful too. Lasts all day with primer. Just fantastic. Love it!

Beautiful colors! I bought this after reading all the good reviews! I love the color combination. I agree that the lighter shade is a mixture of metallic taupe/cool gold. It's a really nice color! On my fair skin, it was not a dramatic color at all. In fact, it looked more shimmery than metallic. I love taupe colors and I like gold, but sometimes I think I look better with cool eyeshadow tones, so this is great for a cool toned pale gold/goldish taupe. Very nice! The plum color is also very pretty and has a hint of shimmer in it. I applied the lighter shade over most of my lid, applying it lighter as I went up. Then I applied the darker shade in the outer corners. Together they look great! I also have the HIP metallic shadow duo in Platinum, which I wear at least 4 times a week, sometimes almost daily. It's also a great set. I'd say this one looks more natural on my fair skin, as Platinum shows up more. Packaging is fine, although I use my own eyeshadow brush, which gives me better results. For a drugstore brand, these might be a little more at the upper end with price, but they do seem to last a long time and are well worth it. I would definitely repurchase! I also have this type of eyeshadow in Sculpted, which is also very pretty, but not a color combo that I wear all that often.
