This has been my standard party mascara for the last couple of years.

It makes my lashes look amazing BUT the tube dries out quickly. It can be stubborn to remove and no matter how gentle I am I always lose at least one eyelash which is the reason this mascara has remained a special occasion only mascara.

I'd love to find something else so I can stop using this but no luck yet.

I have a love-hate relationship with this mascara ... this mascara make my lashes look so AMAZING and dramatic but it so hard to take it OFF ! and anytime I try to take it off at least 6 eyelashes falls !!!
Im sure that Loreal and other companies have another great mascaras ... Never buy this again .

I have been using the original Lash Architect (waterproof version) which I found to work well for me and so I was quite eager to try out the carbon gloss. To be honest, I thought that I had accidentally bought an old mascara that had been opened or something, because when I first tried it on, the brush seemed to be extremely lumpy and it felt as if the mascara was really dry and hard to distribute on my lashes. Having read some of the other reviews on this page, I get the feeling that this is simply the way that this mascara is :(
You could say that my lashes look like falsies with this one - however, we are talking a pair of falsies that have been completely mangled!

While at first the product looks good on my lashes, it doesn't distribute well. After about 3 ours, you'll find it has wiped off on your cheeks slightly and you'll spend a lot of time wiping underneath your eyes.

The product also doesn't come off easily with soap, eye makeup remover nor L'oreal's own eye makeup remover. I'm going back to Maybelline Greatlash. At least it came off when I wanted it to and not my on my face.

FAIL

This is my HG of mascaras, I seriously buy 4 at a time because I'm afraid it will get discontinued or something.

It makes my lashes look like fake ones and looks awesome with smokey eyes, it doesn't flake on me and lasts forever. I use the waterproof one and I just love it! You can build it up, and to me it looks very black.

I do think it tends to dry up a little quick though.

Ugh. I found this to be utter crap. Colour isn't as dark as Voluminous Carbon Black, and as for the supposed "gloss", it is only on the packaging. I found it flaky, smudgy, hard to work with and dries up quick. Boooo. I've had better results with Maybelline Great Lash...read my review on that to understand how much I hate this mascara.
Wouldn't purchase again if it was the last mascara on Earth. Seriously.

I hated it, it flakes like crazy!

Quite expensive aswell, its like 20 AUD get something else, go for Essence. They have mascaras starting from $3.50 (aud) ending at $8 around.

I love the original of this product, much more than this version. The original doesnt clump, is easy to apply, and really does create that fake lash effect (i think this is because it is a thicker formula). This formula seems thinner, so more is needed in order to achieve any kind of fake lash look. I can't say I noticed any difference in the blackness of this formula as opposed to the original, which is one of the selling points. If you are going to puchase one of these, purchase the original formula, it is much better than this one!

I actually love this mascara, carbon black meaning the colour depth is highly pigmented dark black. I need carbon black on me because normal black is too light in pictures and makes me look like i have no lashes!

I love the brush and it helps thicken my lashes, as always i purchase waterproof formulas only because the wax help keeps curls in all day!

This product doesn't clump and it definitely lengthens the appearance of my lashes, which are both pluses. However, it really doesn't give the illusion of 'fake lashes' as described on the packaging. For me it's more of a daytime mascara than one that I would use for a dramatic night-time look.

It's been years since I used the original Lash Architect Mascara (WP version). Being the mascara addict that I am, I found myself at L'Oréal's counter again, and grabbed a tube of Lash Architect Carbon Gloss Waterproof. The brush isn't the best one out there, and it actually smudges a bit when applied. The results aren't as impressive as you'd expect: the mascara lengthens and thickens only somewhat, but all in all the effect is very natural-looking as opposed to the false lash effect that L'Oréal so eagerly highlights. I prefer the natural look for daytime, but the whole reason why I bought this mascara in the first place was to get a little extra oomph for my lashes this party season. I have no idea what the colour "Carbon Gloss" is supposed to look like, but to me it's a regular black mascara. The mascara also feels very drying on my lashes, which might be due to the high alcohol-content... That's a big no-no! All in all, I'm not at all impressed (I rarely am with L'Oréal mascaras...).

I love this and I am surprised by the earlier comments! I first started buying this ages ago and I am on my 6th or 7th tube now! Its an absolute favourite of mine and one I go back to when I periodically try other ones. For me I find it a great one- coat mascara, that is the thickness is great and its very black, the brush is well designed too. Try it!

I came across this product because of Kimberley Walsh from Girls Aloud. She said this was her favorite mascara because it gave her the look of falsies. Well, I ordered this off of ebay because I couldn't find it anywhere(in Canada). The results of this are meh. Pretty much just a basic mascara. This does give a nice glossy black color to my lashes but pretty much every mascara can do that. Made my lashes look long but didn't give me thickness that it claimed to do. I put a mascara primer on before hand so I didn't have any smudging issues. I also noticed this made my eyelashes feel very stiff.

I bought this mascara a year ago (I always buy my mascaras when there's a pay 2 get 3 promotion) and although I usually don't do carbon black or fall for "false lashes" promises I though I would give this one a try... maybe it was the Milla Jovovich photo.

I have been using it for the last 3 months, so I think I can write a fair review now, just before dumping it in the rubbish can (I throw all my mascaras away after 3 months, that's why I buy cheap):

It gives nice volume and length, I usually expect only some enhancement from mascara, but really enjoyed the fuller, more glam look this mascara delivered... it wasn't over the top either as I applied carefully. Application is easy... but... it does smudge and it is difficult to remove...

Smudging is not acceptable in a mascara in my opinion, so I am not repurchasing nor recommending it. Difficult removal is not good either, but I find most mascaras hard to remove anyway.

This is a so-so mascara. It adds a bit of volume and length but nothing to brag about. If I didn't use a lash primer underneath first this mascara would really suck. It caught my eye because it was on sale and because I really like the L'Oreal Voluminous Naturale Mascara but this one is no comparison. I would pass on it unless you are just looking for a very very basic mascara to add a bit of color to your lashes.

Where do I start? Maybe by saying I'm about to toss 8.25 £ ?
When i started applying it I immediatly noticed it was all over lid, I hate this, so in the end I had to go with a cotton pad & make up remover... hum bad start.
In the end it looked really nice, it did give a false lash effect.
After a few hours I noticed it smudged a bit, hum...
The big tragedy was when i tried to remove it: wow! It is impossible to do so, not even WP mascara is this bad!
I now have tiny grains hanging on my lashes that I failed to manually remove, i say manually because the tons of make up remover couldn't do so, not even the soap i went with after I got really desesperate :-/
