Flattens pimples. Good deep cleansing mask that simultaneously brightens skin. Try using it 3 or 2 times a week and I'm sure you will notice a marked difference in your skin. May not repurchase as I want to try making my own with aztec healing clay, as recommended on this site.

Meh. Dermalogica Bores Me Again. I bought this after a really crappy facial using..GUESS WHAT..Dermalogica products. I went home after that facial and started to break out in deep painful pimples on my neck. I should have told her NO ACTIVE MOIST, but this company has this thing with their packaging. The sterile, no nonsense look lulls me into a false sense of desire for the line. Dermalogica may have been Top Gun in the late 80's but, clearly they have opted for capitalistic fallacy. I will no longer purchase ANY Dermalogica Products, ok, well...maybe Microfoliant.
I have a review on a lovely mask by LUSH that does the job THIS stuff should do, without yeast extract :s I do not like the yeast extract.

Hey, it does what it claims it does... Controls oil well. I could only use this 2-3 times a week without drying my skin out (and I normally have very oily skin). I used the combination: Cleansing Gel (twice daily), Dermal Clay Cleanser (once daily), Sebum Clearing Masque (2-3 times per week), and the Clearing Mattifier (once daily). It didn't last as long as most Dermalogica products, so I do consider this expensive. Packaging is a tube, so it is easy to control how much you use.

Update: this mask only provides a very temporary effect and is not really worth the money for me.

I've only used this mask/masque a few times, but am already quite impressed! It seems to help clear my clogged pores quite effectively. I'll update my review when I've been using it longer.

This is a pretty good face mask if you have oily problematic skin. It leaves the face clean and the pores tightened. Results are temporary so it's Good to use before some occasion if you want to look 'fresh'. It will not permantly stop your skin from producing too much oil. It might Help in preventing breakouts because it does contain sacylic acid but wont be hugely affective because the salicylic acid maybe in very small amounts and to use only once a week wont make a huge difference.
If your looking for a good clay mask, may i suggest the clinique deep cleansing emergency mask. It's a similiar mask to this but just better and you only need to leave it on for 5 mins.

Skin feels really clean and tightened afterwards. Although I'm pretty sure it caused me to break out. Don't know if this is an initial clearing breakout so going to see how I go. Doesn't completelt rid of oiliness, but I have SUPER oliy skin.

This is good for very oily skin. It will reduce the shine and calm any redness you might have. But most clay masks can do that. So what makes this worth all the $$$? Uhm.... uh... can I get back to you?

I actually love this masque. I use it only in my tzone however, as it will dry out any other places i apply it. It has a nice tingle to it and the smell isnt TOO bad compared to other clay-based masques. It rids of all my oil and helps calm and soothe any break outs i may have. I love this product. However, it is so pricey. Thankfully i get a discount!

This mask feels good on the skin and does smell good. My face does feel clean after using it. However, it does contain Triclosan and that is a questionable ingredient as to whether or not it is entirely safe to use. So until the FDA updates their important information about Triclosan in the spring of 2011, I am sticking to my Neutrogena Combo Cleanser/Mask.

The active ingredient in this product is Triclosan (0.2%)- this is an anti fungal and is typically used in toothpaste to treat and or prevent gingivitis. I suppose the idea here is to treat the bacteria on the skin- however research reveals that Triclosan's use in cosmetics is in dispute- some support it to be effective, some support it to be ineffective for acne. The product also contains Salicylic Acid to exfoliate to skin. Additionally, this formula contains Kaolin and Zink- two effective ingredients for soothing skin and reducing redness.

As far as effectiveness goes- I found this product disappointing considering the $65CAD price tag. I was expecting it to make my skin feel fresh, reduce pore visibility by giving them an effective deep clean, and shrinking acne and reducing blackheads with each treatment. Although this mask did seem gentle on my sensitive skin and left it feeling clean, soft, and smelling good. I cannot say it actually helped with acne. It seemed less red- but that was it. The active pimples were not smaller the following day, nor the next, or the week after that. They did however- appear less inflamed. Further more, this mask did nothing to treat blackheads. No difference. As far as exfoliation goes, simple sugar and water is more effective than this.

Since this product is so expensive, I expect optimal performance, not basic. Therefore, it gets a basic 3/5. It's not a terrible mask, but neither an amazing one either. I think it might be an okay mask if you plan to use it consistently in a routine for oily skin- but don't expect it to do much for acne (considering this comes from the acne line). If you are looking for a good spot treatment- the concealing spot treatment by Dermalogica from the same line is far better.
Happy Shopping!

i have combination to oily skin, which gets much more oily on summer times.i dont have acne problems much, the biggest trouble for me is the blackheads.i have been using dermalogica products for two weeks and my skin is not as oily as it used to be.my face is also dry inside so i was a little worried that all those products might get very drying but they didnt.the little break-outs on my forehead started to disappear,so did the ones on my cheeks.i will have to wait some time for the blackheads but if this products helps with them either, then this will become the purchase of my life

update:i have been using this mask for about five months, twice a week.it reduces the look of blackheads for sure, and controls them.i know that you cant change your skin type and as long as you have oily skin, the blackheads will be there but this is a perfect product to fight them.my little acnes have disappeared too.i rarely have breakouts(mostly in period times) and they are minimised too.with a complete dermalogica skincare of course!

price: rather expensive

overall: doesnt irritate the skin;does remove excess sebum but it is comparable to other masks like the body shop tea tree oil mask. it isnt as amazing as i expected it to be.since the price is rather steep;maybe its not really worth the money

I've tried everything for acne A-Z, even Rx's which I could no longer afford. This mask does wonders for helping to control my acne. It gives a pleasant cooling sensation that feels good! I'm VERY thankful for finding this product and intend on trying the entire system. I'll never be without it!!
