Sometimes, I almost wish that lip-liners would be produced in similar ways as eyeliners. If Revlon came up with a marker pen lip-liner, I would snatch it up in a heartbeat.
I really like the consistency and pigmentation of this lip-liner. My lips are naturally pigmented, with my upper being darker than my lower, so Nude really helped to even out my upper lip. However, like another review pointed out, the liner breaks off very easily. I suppose you could say that gentleness is crucial for the liner to remain in one piece but it doesn't really help much.
I wear this under my NYX PR and it makes the color pop. Unfortunately, this is the only color I will purchase until Revlon steps its game up.

I bought this in Mauve for a nude look with a hint of color for my tan complexion. I lined my lips, filled them in and put my lipstick over it. The product isn't rock hard like crappy eyeliner that tugs on your eyes, but it's not creamy either. It was a little hard to put it on because of that consistency, but it does have staying power. I feel that it helped my lipstick last longer than it would without the lip liner.

Bought the ColorStay Lip Liner in Red in conjunction with Revlon's Really Red Matte Lipstick. The liner does an okay job, but I have the sinking feeling that it dries out my lips more than the lipstick does.
I give this two lippies because every time I've used it, the lip liner breaks. The Colorstay lip liner is an automatic liner (you turn it up like a lipstick, as opposed to a pencil). The product is not very smooth on application and at least once during each application a chunk of lip liner breaks off. I try to let as little product come out of the tube as possible to minimize this breakage but it still happens. The texture of the liner is not very smooth and feels waxy and drying. I can't say that the lip liner doesn't do the job because I think it does (I haven't tried the lipstick without it), but it's annoying to end up wasting product every time I use it.

Edit: I am bumping this up to 5 lippies, because I just compared them to my new Jordana lipliners (which are much cheaper!), and I see now how much they actually do live up to their "Colorstay" name! I also bumped up the packaging quality to a 4, because it does have a sharpener included in the bottom of the product. I will definitely save these babies for special occasions where I need staying power, and use my cheaper ones for everyday. I figured out that you need to let the color just SIT there, undisturbed, for at LEAST 15 minutes if possible...I still wish these were slightly cheaper and/or had more product, but as far as performing as a long-lasting lipliner, they definitely do what they're supposed to do. :-)
I am so DISAPPOINTED with this product! I picked this up in three shades (Blush, Rose, and Pink) and was very upset to see that, even when applied directly onto my DRY lips (with no balm or anything to moisturize and make them glide on easier--I really wanted to test the staying power) they wiped completely off after 10 minutes! Maybe I didn't give them enough time to "set"? I also didn't like they way I was looking for MLBB colors, and found these all to be either too light, too warm-toned, and/or completely not matching the color on the package. So annoyed! Complete waste of money since I didn't get these on sale (picked them up in a rush on my way to a wedding). One last gripe is that I noticed that there is not a lot of actual product...like maybe an inch or so? And it seems to go quickly. If anyone knows of any good, long-lasting lipliners, please let me know!

I have this in Nude. The color doesn't show up at all on my lips and the liner keeps breaking. It was also very drying on my lips and made them look flakey. Wah, disappointed :(

I am a blue eyed NW10 (NW20 when tanning from a bottle).
I have been looking for a "nude" lip liner to wear under bright lip sticks to keep them looking neat and pigmented. I was not impressed with how warm-toned the MAC lip liners seemed, and also with how they didn't seem to wear for long at all. So I tried this product on a whim, thinking what risk did I have with a drugstore product. I purchased it in the shade "Natural," and was pleasantly surprised to find it wasn't too much peach or brown. Just simple beige, although a tiny bit darker than I had hoped. I prefer a pencil, but the twist up application works alright, nothing wrong with it. I can't really comment on how long it wears, mainly because I tend to chew on my lips (bad habit) during the day. I will keep and perhaps update my review in the future.

I bought this in rose, this is the best lip liner I have ever cam across! Although the texture is a little bit dry, it's not that much of a big deal. Just moisturize your lips prior to applying this lip liner!

This is AMAZING... The color is so pigmented and it slides on perfectly. I have the RED and use it all over my lips as I love having matte color on my lips..Of course it's a bit too matte and I feel my lips little dry but I like it so much I want to get more..

After discovering this lipliner, it is my HG. Why? Lasting power. It's the best I've found. An added bonus is the retractable automatic tip so it never needs sharpening. My favorite shades are mauve, rose, & nude which are all 'my-lips-but-better' shades, and those 3 are all I need to match anything in my collection.

I picked it up in Target for just under 7 dollars. NOT WORTH IT. I found it to be quite dry and felt like I had to fight it to drawn the line... I was afraid that any minute it was going to break off.... I had that happen a few times with their eye liner pencil... while it is a wonderful pencil and really does stay in place all day long what good is it if it breaks all of the time... it's like throwing out money. No thanks!
~ EDIT ~ It's 2 days later and guess what..... the pencil broke on me this morning! I could just feel it in my bones as I was using it that it was going to break and it did... I had it turned up so little but yet the tip of the pencil was still able to crumble off, it's such a dry crappy pencil..... so infuriating! Do not throw your money out on this pencil, they have a history of breaking... do yourself a huge favor and pick up a Wet n Wild liner, you will save yourself a few dollars and you'll get a quality pencil.

Very disappointing. I got this in Nude or Natural--I forgot the name--and while the color looked fine in the stick it just didn't look so great on my lips. It seemed very matte and chalky and tended to dry my lips out more than usual. I ended up returning it to the store.

EDIT: I'm bumping this up to 5 lippies (I only gave it 4/5 initially) because this shade makes my teeth look whiter!
Igot this in Rose and it is a perfect match for the nude lipstick I wear everyday (Maybelline Volume Seduction "In the Nude"). I didn't have a problem with applying it, like some reviewers mentioned, and don't find it to be too drying if I apply balm first. I fill in my lips and then blend with my finger. The formula stays put pretty long and makes my lipstick last longer. Overall, this is the best drugstore lip liner because of the longer-lasting formula and I will continue to buy it.

I have purchased this lip liner in several colors. This stuff does not budge and lasts all day. I fill in my lips all the way and it helps non-colorstay type lipsticks stay longer. Since I usually end up "eating" my lipstick - one cup of coffee, and most of it is gone - I really like anything Revlon's Colorstay for lips. I can have my cup of coffee, a snack, etc., and it stays put.
The only complaint I have would be that it is a little brittle. Push it up just a little too far and it will break off right away. Not enough of a problem to take away a star for it, though.

I hate to say this, but I'm kind of disappointed. The color payoff is not great because it's very hard to apply, dry and makes your lips dry too. So you have to strongly moisturize your lips. I don't think I will repurchase. I don't recommend it. The only thing I like about it is the color (mauve) and the fact that it's a twist-up liner.

CONS: sucks the moisture out of lips; so drying to the point where the inside of my mouth becomes dry as well; no SPF; sharpner is a mystery to work with; has an unpleasant scent that's hard to describe; simply uncomfortable to wear even with ample lip balm underneath.
PROS: colors are lovely ( I have in Rose).
$9.99 CDN b4 taxes @ regular price for 0.28g. Will never buy this b/c it's so drying and uncomfortable to wear.

This has been my HG for years.I use it to line and fill in lips and then apply a gloss in the center of my pout to keep my lips soft and moisturized. They have a lot of different colors but I tend to stick with Siennas for most days, Wines when I want something more bold, and Nudes when I want a lazy day/MLBB look. It's better to apply it lightly and then use a finger to blend it in and then apply more if you need it.I do my top lip, blend, then do my bottom lip, blend, then apply the lipgloss. I don't have to reapply for the entire day unless I eat something really greasy like pizza and then it's just to add to the center of my lips, the "lined" part is still there. I don't think it's expensive because one lasts me over a month even when I use it every day and fill in my lips with it too. Also I've seen and bought the Nudes and Siennas colors at dollar stores a few times when the company changes the packaging or the label isn't printed perfectly.

Although I really like this lip liner (I purchase it in Mauve) it is simply too fragile. Breaks very easily so I have to keep re-purchasing. Maybe that is Revlon's intent.
Anyway....like the product....hate the breakage and waste.

Since I've never really been disappointed with the Colorstay products, I thought I'd try Mauve as a replacement for my Prescriptives Umber that they discontinued. It was close but not as close as I wanted so I went back and bought Nude. Same results, close but not exact. Really Mauve and Nude are sooo close in color. The Mauve is just a TINY, TINY bit more pink.. It's a toss up between which one I like more...like I said, they are not a dup for my Umber but I've got to come to terms that it's been discontinued and move on lol. The staying power is wonderful, actually better than the Prescriptives, but not as creamy. Oh well...
I'll definitely be repurchasing though as these are a second to the Prescriptives. I'll keep both Nude and Mauve around til I figure out which one I like best ;o)

I was in CVS today and they had their Revlon Colorstay lipliners on buy one get one so I picked up two for what amounts to about $4.00 each. I then felt compelled to write this review because the quality of these lipliners for this price is unreal! I buy HE liners, MAC, Nars, Lancome, etc. and none of them, in my opinion are any better than these Revlon liners. Admittedly, the color selection is more limited but REALLY how many does one need? Revlon has a nude, a pink, a coral, etc. and each is wonderful. I will never spend the money to buy an expensive liner again. There is simply NO reason to unless you want some serious color deviation - and I don't. Anyway, try these!!! $4.00!!! It's worth the risk. (smile)
