This is a fantastic shampoo (and conditioner). I have fine, long, wavy hair and this made it feel so soft and moisturized. I love the way this makes my hair feel, very pampered. I would by this again except that I'm currently using Head & Shoulders (Green Apple) for my dandruff :( This drug-store brand delivers like a luxury high end product...and I don't even like Aveeno! To the reviewer 2 down from this review, you stated you have medium thick hair and this dried you hair. Ummm this is a volumizing shampoo so it's for fine thin hair, hello! I love Makeup Alley but I swear some of the reviews are from people who don't understand the products they buy and then have inaccurate expectations. Anyway, end rant. If I didn't have dandruff, this would be my HG shampoo and conditioner combo. It's phenomenal.

it does all the things that it claims....makes my hair really soft and shiny with volume....but after using it for two weeks, both me and my friend (not acne prone) are starting to break out at the hair line around the forehead with little bumps. So cannot continue using it and won't be buying it again....

Ok so I'm pretty sure my mom got this on a really good sale so i don't feel to bad to say That this stuff is horrible!. I have medium thick hair and i used this and it made my hair so so dry and nothing has ever made it so dry not even a clarifying shampoo and my hair is oily so enough to say i am never using this again and would not recommend it to anyone.

This shampoo did volumize my hair, but it also made my hair very dry. My scalp became very dry, irritated, and itchy. I had to use Neutrogena Triple Moisture Conditioner and leave it on for 10 minutes to try to undo the damage. My scalp still hurts a little.

I am pleasantly surprised by this product. I have baby-fine, long wavy hair that doesn't have much body of its own. After using this shampoo, my hair is full, soft and HEALTHY-- that is the key word.
For the longest time I have been trying every reasonably-priced "volumizing" shampoo I could find, and although they would indeed give me volume, it would leave my hair dried out and frizzy. I thought that this was what they meant by volume... the frizz did give my roots some lift, and I thought that this was the best I could hope for. But after trying Aveeno, I see the light! My hair can indeed have volume and look healthy, shiny and moisturized.
A few cons-- this may not give you as much volume as you're hoping for. I am totally ok with that though because my hair looks so good. Also, the product is kind of runny and there isn't a whole lot in the bottle so try to resist using too much. A little goes a long way. It's also pretty expensive. I got mine for $7.99 at Rite Aid.

Well time and time again, I return to this shampoo.
My hair--waist length and highlighted blonde for the past three years
I love cones and sulfates BTW this is a bit cone heavy
i love everything about the Aveeno poo and dishes. My only wish is that they came in bigger bottles.
I've tried ojon, sebastion, nexuss, john frieda, this is by far the best shampoo out there. i really like the dish, but i use a lot of hair masks instead of normal sish.
Worth a try

I bought this shampoo & conditioner set a couple of years ago on recommendation from one of Paula Begoun's books. My hair tends very much to the dry side so I needed something nourishing but that didn't create a lot of build-up. I have been very happy with this set and even though I change it up sometimes (I like to keep things exciting *smile*) this set is always my 'every other time'. The shampoo lathers well with only one application (some others I have to suds twice to get a good lather) and I can tell an immediate difference as soon as I put the conditioner in my hair. In fact, I have to be careful sometimes if it drips on the floor of my shower as it can make the floor a little slippery. I would definitely recommend it!

Decent softness and shine after use and more volume than using a non-volume shampoo, sure. But my normal hair started to get greasy the second day after washing and very strangely, start to smell exactly like dirt. Also dried out my scalp and made it flake! The cons of this definitely outweighed the pros. Skip!

I think the Aveeno shampoos in general are some of the best out there and I have used over 200 different brands high end and not in the last twenty plus years. After the Organix line left a waxy and dryish quality to my hair, I tried this and instantly, my hair was alive, bouncy and super shiny. Not the best volumizing hair system I have tried, but it does leave a beautiful sheen and some body, slightly better than average bodifying I would say, but not great. All in all, Aveeno shampoos rock for a drug store brand and I will continue to use them as I believe they are of high quality and deliver what they promise. If only this formula imparted more volume, it would be a five.

I thought I liked this product at first but then the next day after using my hair would be so greasy and I would need to wash it with something else that cleansed a little better without stripping. I won't be getting this again and am looking for something else that will not weigh my hair down or make my scalp greasy.

This shampoo really doesn't give much volume, but it will make your hair very soft without making it matted down and just plain flat. I have pretty fine hair (But a lot of it!) and this shampoo really doesn't do much. However, I do like the scent. Give it a try though if you want something that will make your hair feel very healthy=]

I bought these because Aveeno usually makes quality products at reasonable prices. I started out liking this shampoo, gave me lots of volume and moisture as promised. A few weeks into use I changed my opinion. This shampoo started to strip my blonde color and the longer I used this, the less body my hair had. My hair is fine and naturally wavy but it became straight because of the silicone in this shampoo.
I have since switched and my hair is once again wavy and blonde (after additional professional highlights).

I love this shampoo! This leaves my fine hair feeling very clean, smooth, shiny, and gives decent volume. Most shampoos either dry my hair out or leave a film, but this makes my hair look and feel healthy. I can even skip washing a day without greasy roots which I have never been able to do with other products. I use the matching conditioner and have just finished my second bottle of both. Awesome product!!

Like other below, I thought I really liked it at first. I had gotten a sample in the mail and it made my hair silky smooth. With continued use, it made my hair TOO soft and slippery. No volume...greasy...flaky scalp. I thought it was my conditioner at first but nope. Won't buy again. Maybe it would work if you have a super dry scalp?

Argh, I hated this shampoo for many reasons. This made my hair greasy, matted, limp and unhealthy. This is a very un-latherable shampoo. I would only be able to lather around my scalp and took much effort to get any lather on my ends or the rest of my hair for that matter. The best way I can descibe how nuts I went every time I tried using this is by saying imagine washing your hair with milk. It isn't watery or anything but it simply does not lather! By the end of my first week my hair was weighed down and just blahhh! I have stopped using it and after a whole week has gone by of ridding all the residue left behind from this shampoo my hair is finally looking strong and healthy. To conclude, this shampoo sucked so bad for me that I still have half a bottle left.

This stuff is great. It actually volumizes my hair, something I've been unable to get in other products that are supposed to do so. The reason I bought it though is because my hair was dead and tangly after dying it so much. This made my hair much easier to work with after the first time I washed it, and actually fixes some of the dead and split ends. My sister loves how it smells and keeps stealing it from me :o

This shampoo worked so well for the first week, but it's natural volumizing affect stopped working and it left my hair weighted down and uninteresting looking. I kept trying to make it work for 3 weeks in total with no good results. It's a shame, the idea was nice.
PROS: (1) leaves hair smelling clean. (2) very moisturizing- ideal for dry hair. (3) nice streamline bottle design that is semi see-through so you can see how much product you have. (4) Lathers very nicely. (5) Did not irritate my sensitive scalp.
CONS: (1) weighs down hair (2) does not offer any lustre (3) Did not leave my hair feeling as clean after prolonged use. I suspect the shampoo was slowly building up in my hair. Not even a clarifying cleanser could 'reset' my hair. (4) only worked for the first week.
Good idea, poor execution.
Happy Shopping

I have fine, wavy, hair that tends to feel dehydrated or dry and an oily scalp. I decided to try this based on a Paula's choice recommendation, and so far I like it. I can't recall liking another shampoo more than this. It leaves my hair soft and manageable and doesn't seem to dry out my hair as volumizing shampoos can do. It smells nice. I use the matching conditioner as well with good results. I haven't noticed any build up (I've been using this for over a month), as tends to be the issue with dimethicone, but if that happens, I'll just use a clarifying/ anti-residue shampoo 1-2X week, which I did previous to starting this anyway.

I did not like this shampoo. It did not clean my hair as well as other shampoos and it did nothing to add volume to my hair. Overall, I would not buy this shampoo again since it was nothing special.

This is a very nice shampoo, lathers very well and leaves my hair clean and soft. No difference in the volume of my hair, but I really didn't expect anything dramatic. Nice packaging and overall a good shampoo. I'm not sure if I will be buying this again as there are so many other shampoos out there to try. This one is nothing special, it just does the job.
