I have hereditary dark circles.I have thin skin to begin with and the skin is even thinner around my eyes,so my veins and discoloration is very noticeable. So after seeing the great reviews for this, I had to try it.I started using this in October 2011 and see no difference what so ever in my dark circles. My circles haven't lightened even the slightest. When I first started using this I used it everyday which seemed to be a bit much for me because my eye area was becoming dry and flaky,so I started using it every other day which is much more tolerated by my skin. Now I am in my young 20's & don't have any wrinkles so I can't comment if it does help for that, but after about a month of using this I noticed my eye area has become softer.I like that this has retinol in it so I'm hoping it helps prevent wrinkles from coming in.Ive been told that eye creams will not lighten genetic circles but I still have hope maybe something will come out that works.Maybe it will work for you if your circles aren't hereditary or super dark. Its worth giving a try.Even though it did nothing for darkness(which is why I purchased this)I like the smooth feel it gives. So the smooth feeling & possiable anti aging benefits,I might get this again.Make sure to only apply this at night & only a tiny bit, I noticed to much eye cream at night can cause puffiness.

I've been using this cream for the past year. It has made a real difference in my eye contour: the hooding is greatly reduced, and there's not even a hint of wrinkle as I'm about to turn 36. As well, I have super sensitive eyes which burn if I use certain creams (even if they are nowhere near my eyes). This cream is sensitive enough that it doesn't cause any reaction, yet it works. Will keep buying.
UPDATE: I stopped using this for the past few months as I switched to Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair eye cream, but noticed the hooding and aging look returning. So, I am back to Eluage!

I generally love Avene products but I'm not a huge fan of this eye cream. There isn't anything wrong with the texture but it doesn't seem to do anything after using this for the past couple of months. I've had other eye creams and they have worked with better success. So I won't be buying this again.

HG PRODUCT!!!! This has lightened my dark circles more than I could have hoped for in 4weeks!!! I seriously can't believe it because I have tried everything from Shiseido to DDF. My under eye area also looks so smoothe. This stuff is a miracle worker.

I was not blown away by this. From the rave reviews here I expected some really good results with the reduction of fine lines, sufficient moisture and maybe even some reduced swelling. But it didnīt have any of those effects for me, not even after using it for several months. Of course itīs better than using no eyecream at all, but in fact, I even find that it doesnīt nourish enough. Disappointed and glad that itīs finally empty. Of course, wonīt buy again.

I am currently using this exclusively as a nighttime eye cream.
Previously I was using Bobbi Brown's Extra Eye Cream during the PM, and it was too rich for my eyes so I broke out with a tiny milia under my left eye. It wasn't a big one but I immediately stopped using the Bobbi Brown eye cream and scoured the internet for information on removing it. An article suggested using retinol eye creams because it can help exfoliate the areas around the eye and eventually remove the milia seed. I finally decided on Avene Eluage because of the good reviews on MuA.
Price: I got this for almost SG$70, which is ridiculously expensive compared to how much it costs in the US (only US$38.50). I would normally have ordered it online instead for the cheaper price, but because I was anxious to remove the milia, I didn't mind paying a little bit more to have it right away.
Packaging: Extremely sanitary packaging and travel-friendly. Although I would have preferred that it came in a flexible squeeze tube so that I will be able to cut it open to retrieve the last bit of cream at the end (minus one lippie for this part).
Efficacy: When I bought this eye cream, I did not expect it to work at all. I mean, I have already spent so much money on four different eye creams prior to this one and none of them showed any major improvements to my eyes. I was NOT expecting this to improve the conditions of my eyes in any way, let alone remove any milia. But get this - after the 2nd night of using, my milia seed was considerably smaller. After two weeks, the milia was completely gone. My undereye circles were lighter also. And the fine lines under my eyes were softer and less pronounced.
The texture is that of a light gel-creme. Sufficiently hydrating, but not too rich to cause any problems. I use it mostly on my undereye area, but if I have excess I will just dab a little on my lids.
Needless to say, I really love this eye cream and I think I managed to hit jackpot on my HG for now. I will continue to use this as my nighttime eye cream until my eyes require something richer or more potent.
P.S. For the AM, I am using Caudalie Pulpe Vitaminee Eye Cream (if I am going to be indoors), or Shiseido's Sun Protection Eye Cream if I am going out.

I saw absolutely no difference. My dark circles and fine lines are still there even after 2 months.
I want to find something that really works, so far no success with Loreal and Avene.

I have been using this for a bit over a month and I feel that I have been using this long enough to do a review.
My skin: I have pretty tough skin that rarely breaks out and is pretty much insensitive to most products. The only thing that has ever broken me out was Neutrogena's day lotion (the basic one with spf). I had a few fine lines under my eyes which is why I sought out this product. I had hoped it would work to remove (or reduce) them in order for my undereye concealer to apply more smoothly.
During the first 2 weeks I noticed, like others, that the skin around my eye area was actually more dry and crepe-y than before, and my concealer was actually causing the flakes (eww!) to be more apparent. I stuck it out and by the 4th week I noticed that the lines that show up when I smile were greatly reduced. (Please keep in mind that I am in my late 20's so I don't have many lines, nor are they particularly deep.) I no longer worry about my concealer settling into the fine lines when I smile, and the application is much smoother now. I haven't really noticed a great reduction in the darkness of my undereye area but I have been applying less concealer to cover them up. I only use this during the night, and during the day I use the Clarins spf 30 eye cream.
(Side note: This has to be the most sanitary packaging I have ever seen. There is no noticeable "hole" for the product to be dispensed, but when I tried to pump some out it came out of a tiny slit. There is no chance of any product "back-washing" in to the bottle. Also, I don't know why people would want a transparent bottle; the opacity protects the ingredients. You'll know you're out when you're out.)
Finally, contrary to popular belief (and misinformation), the eye cream does NOT have the same concentration as the face cream or gel. If you visit the Avene site it is clearly noted that the eye cream has a concentration of 0.015% of retinaldehyde, while both the face cream and gel have a concentration of 0.05%.

This product did not seem to moisturize my eyes as much as I had hoped for. I have very faint lines in the under eye area and at the corners of my eyes and haven't noticed any differences. However the worst part is that I feel the retinaldehyde may be a bit too strong for me. The product irritated the whole eye area and I have been using it only every other day to avoid hurting my eyes too much.
The packaging of this product is quite good though, the pump works really well to get out exactly the amount of product needed.

I received a sample of this from the SA at Guardian, she's nice, gave me a whole bunch of samples :) Been using this day and night for the past 5 days. My under eye is pretty firm but I've got a fine line on both eyes. Nothing has worked so far, and this hasn't either. Does feel hydrated and soft and doesn't mess up my eye concealer afterwards but I guess for me, it's more of a preventive cream.
I heard that you can use the Eluage cream for the under eye area too so I'll give that a try.

I am pretty young but i have fine lines around my eyes since i was 18, and it has always been a concern for me. I have tryed differend eye creams from a differend price range and this is the best one so far. I have been using this product since five days and i already can see improvements! Plus it is moisturizing! The only downside is that stings a bit because the derivate of Retin A, but we will see...
AFTER A FEW WEEKS.: amazing, i seriously have no wrinkles any more!! i am so happy!

This is my first review in MUA. I would like to love this product, because of the reviews I read here, so I waited almost two months to write, hoping to see any improvement. I'm using Eluage religiously every day, and I do not see any improvement, in fact, I think my lines and crow's feet are more pronounced and in one eye I developed an allergy. Now it just burns when I use it, but I'll wait until the end of the package, because I've read that retinol products (this is my first) in some cases makes the skin get worse before it actually improve and that this effect may take about 3 months before seeing the first results. I will update when I finish it and until then, starting to research new products.

I'm changing my Review of this one. I gave it 5 lippies because I saw some improvement right off the bat. It was slight but it was there. Now, months later, nothing has really changed. That immediate bit of improvement was all there was. Also, you can't tell how much you have left due to packaging. On the bright side, it takes forever before you run out. It's expensive but you get a lot for the price.

Am I doing something wrong? There are so many wonderful reviews on this product, that I was looking forward to trying it, thinking that this would be my HG eye cream. Alas, such is not the case. I have been using this product at night for about 3 weeks now. I really liked it at first, but after about a week the squint lines around my eyes became more pronounced...noticeably so! I quit using it for a few days and the skin around my eyes softened again. Tried the Eluage again...woke up in the morning with more pronounced lines. The skin around my eyes seems more crepey after using it. I also started using an eye cream on top of it but still get the same results. I'm going to continue using it though, at least to finish the bottle up. I am hoping for the best but.... As far as dark lines go, I seem to get better results with sweet almond oil. I really want to love the Eluage, but its just not working for me thus far. I will update later if there is a change for the better.
EDIT: Bumping this up to a 4 for the overall rating and yes, I would buy again. As I mentioned in my Edit for the Eluage face cream, I just had to give this cream enough time to do it's wonders. My skin is not so dry around my eyes now. However, I do need to use a moisturizer afterwards. I usually wait about an hour and apply my Roche-Posay or shea butter when the area around my eyes needs some TLC. Yes, I would buy this again though I do wonder if the face cream would work just as well around the eye area.

I have had dark circles since childhood and in my mid-20s they started getting even darker (I had a horrible schedule with shiftwork). This had some really great reviews, so I decided to try it.
The bottle lasted me about nine months, though I forgot to apply it sometimes. In any case, it was still fairly effective. I had a baby baby wrinkle, which is now nowhere in sight and it did brighten my eye area a little bit. I can't comment about puffiness, as that wasn't an issue for me. My dark circles aren't completely gone, but, considering the nice and noticeable difference between the skin on my eye area and the rest of my face, I would say this is a really good product overall, just not 100% effective for my dark circles. I am going to try another couple of products, just to see if there is anything that can almost completely eradicate my dark circles, but I will definitely be coming back to this.
I took one point off for packaging because you can't tell how much is left. However, it is really easy to find in my area, so I suppose it is not a big deal. This is on the cheaper side of the eye creams I'm looking at too. Not dirt cheap, but I think it cost around $30, which, considering how long it lasted, isn't so bad.
The only thing I would warn you about is to make sure you wash off all of your eye makeup remover. I use Dior and sometimes it would sting, if I had any left on.

What a wonderful product. It helped so much in keeping my many laugh lines around my eyes at bay and softened the sometimes crinkled and dry looking lines under my eyes significantly.

As far as eye treatments go, this is one of the best. I've bene using it for over a month and it has made my upper lids smoother but I believe it will take longer to have any major effects on my little crows feet. I got no milia from it wich is a big plus. To be used only at night with a sunscreen and/or sunglassed in the daytime.
Update: I've noticed some reviewers mentioning that this didn't help with dark circles. This is NOT for dark circles, nor is it for puffy eyes. Although it is superior to all the other "eye treatments" out there for wrinkles, it's not as effective as Eluage cream for face (yes you can use that one in your eye area). I've moved on to the cream after about 2 months of using this eye gel. If you're looking for something that will provide deep moisture, this is not it either.
If you're looking for something to start you up on retinoids for the eye area, this is what you're looking for. It will help you build up resistence for something stronger. If you need extra moisture, 20 minutes or so after applying the gel, use either rose hip oil or unrefined shea butter. These will make a difference if your eye area is dry.
Again, this is a good place to start. I will not repurchase for I'm now using Avčne Eluage cream in my eye area.

Excellent! It provides enough hydration without being too sticky and heavy. I have used it for 3 months and my sagging eyelids become firm. It reduces puffiness and fine lines as well. Since this product contains retinaldehyde, I use it at night time and wear sunscreen during the day (I use Mac Vibrancy Eye under the sunscreen). As I have oily and combination skin, I only need a small pea size for both eyes by pumping just half way down. For those who haven't used "retin A" product before, should try this cream once every 2 or 3 days first.
