This is my first impression of the soap. I just bought it today and used it to wash my face. It left my skin with a waxy film. The part that got in my hair was difficult to get out so I just left it there since I wasn't planning on leaving my house anytime soon. It was indeed moisturizing and I did not feel like my skin was stripped of oils but I guess I'm not used to soap making me feel like this. I might come back and update my opinion after I use it a few more times.

I preferred the Nubian Heritage African Black soap in case anybody was wondering. They had both of them in the same store I got this from. =P

EDIT: I just used it on my entire body in the shower. The waxy residue was non-existent. I think I'll stick to using this soap on my body. It caused some small pimples to appear on my face.

I like this soap, but again, it is not a REAL african black soap. It is very moisturizing, and has a pleasant, light, natural smell, so I would repurchase. But please don't purchase this thinking you're getting authentic black soap.

My other half suffers with terrible ezcema. His skin often cracks and bleeds. I bought him some African black soap shower gel which has improved his ezcema by about 95%! I recommend this product very highly.

I found this at Harris Teeters, where it was actually less expensive than the listed price on the Out of Africa website. I was a little nervous using it at first because I thought the shea butter might be a little too rich and cause breakouts. I've been using this on my body for a month or so now though, and really love it. It lathers well with my bath pouf, and leaves my skin somehow feeling moisturized yet squeaky clean at the same time. Amazingly, after rinsing this off I can actually see the water "beading" on my skin sometimes, but whatever moisturizing layer or film is left behind has caused no breakouts. This has a fairly strong "soap" smell, but it's a clean scent that doesn't linger after use.

Lathers well and non irritating. Not overly drying. Light pleasant smell that does not linger. 20% shea butter, long lasting bar soap.
