Theres a scene in the most recent "Inglorious Bastards" where Shosanna Dreyfus was putting on a gel blush before her movie premiere (it was almost like a "this is war" scene). It was the first time I knew the existence of "gel" blush.

Although this is gel to powder, it feels mostly powdery in the container to me... which is not a bad thing at all! I love it. The mixture makes the blush come off as very natural looking on my skin.

I would buy this again, on a rainy day when I feel that my cheaper blushes are too boring for me, but for now... it's not something I would get as soon as I run out. Considering I have lots of cheaper blushes that perform almost just a great.

I have tried blushes from Estee Lauder, Bare Minerals, Maybelline, Cover Girl, Clinique, Tarte, and Benefit....but none have worked as well as Sue Devitt's Microquatic Gel-To-Powder Blush. I purchased Marion Reef (I'm ashamed to say) over two years ago. It's lasted that long because I don't wear makeup *every* single day, but on the days I do...I Marion Reef is my go-to blush. I have naturally tan, Asian/Filipino, somewhat combination skin. I've come to the realization that my skin prefers creamier (though not heavier) and even gel-like products bec. my cheeks sometimes "look" dry or at least "feel" dry to me. Marion Reef has been amazing. It's a light berry/magenta color that blends really well, and looks good next to my skintone. I often times blend a little in and then add a little more if I want my cheeks to look rosie. Twice is usually enough for me. It gives a lovely rosey & healthy glow without looking cakey and dry at all. I don't usually care about touch-ups, but on days that I feel like I need it, it's easy to use without looking like a clown. I always use my fingers to get it to look just right. Of course, I'm not a makeup artist, so I'm probably not doing makeup any justice....but my makeup application is usually simple anyway. I love that it comes in a little silver compact that's easy to take with you or put in your pocket if you wanted to. I wish the price was as cheap as drugstore brands, but I think it's worth it. (Approximately $20...can't really remember.) I found it at Ulta. Don't know if it's still there since it's been a couple of years, but I will gladly purchase it again---especially since it's finally almost gone. I'm looking forward to seeing the other colors on as well.

This was recommended by a young lady @ Ulta who was actually a rep for another line, NOT Sue Devitt (!). I was looking for a creme blush, as I am dryer than I was a few years ago. I also like the added control of a creme blush. She said that the Malay Reef would make me look like I wasnt wearing blush, but that I had a radiant glow. Well I was ALL OVER THAT!! And I am happy to say that THIS BLUSH DELIVERED. I did my makeup to go out and what, six hours later my skin looks great. This did a great job of both contouring and accentuating my cheeks and I dont have that isoceles triangle shaped streak up my cheek like a powder blush delivers. AND my cheeks dont look dry as the Mojave. I can also say that this blush was the perfect color for me. And I can't say that about many other blushes. I would def purchase this again.

This is a peach/pink with pink shimmer, moderately sheer. The shimmer borders on sparkle, but is fairly subtle. No scent. Packaging is functional, flat pan and small size. Expensive for the quantity you receive. I disliked the texture - I attempted to apply with a finger and the product balled up in the pan before I had enough to work with. Lasting power was not good, disappeared a few hours into wearing.

I purchased Devitt's Microquatic blush in Marion Reef, a sweet berry shade with a touch of shimmer. The formula is a true gel-to-powder, which delivers a beautiful glow and lasts throughout the day. Though this little compact should last a very long time, I'd definitely consider purchasing it again.

This review is for Malay Reef, a flattering peachy pink with illuminating shimmer particles. The shade is somewhat buildable, from a soft whisper of color to a bit higher intensity, but overall the effect is natural. I swirl my fingertip over the pan and dot it on my cheekbones, but you can use a sponge or brush to apply, if you prefer.

Sue Devitt is known in the beauty industry for her silky, glowy powder blushes. Her lesser known cheek product, Microquatic Gel-To-Powder Blush, offers cream blush blendability which then sets to a powdery finish that is not at all sticky. Microquatic blush comes packaged in the line's signature round silver compact and houses a nice quality mirror.

I like this for a quick and easy summertime look over tinted moisturizer. One drawback of this product is that it does disappear more quickly on me than regular powder blushes do. I find that the wearing time can be lengthened by layering on a little powder blush on top.

From their website:
"Creamy blush formula glides on smoothly to enhance cheekbones. Microquatic(tm) Gel-to-Powder Blush by Sue Devitt incorporates Orchid Extract, a natural moisturizer that fights against free radicals, promotes healthy radiance, and protects skin's vitality with antioxidants and reparative properties."

Now available in two new skin flattering shades, this blush gives an instant hint of color that locks in moisture while ensuring a blendable, fool-proof application.

Key Ingredients: Marine collagen filling spheres smooth out the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, creating a flawless complexion and a perfectly radiant glow. As experience has taught a gel or creamy blush is so much easier to apply than a powder. With fingers or a sponge we can do it with heightened accuracy, and the effect is natural.

Now, Sue Devitt gives us an added bonus with her Microaquatic Gel-To-Powder Blush - once applied it sets to a perfect powdery finish, flattering to skin tones and radiant in appearance.

Not only is the formulation of the blush amazing with just right amounts of illuminating shimmer particles, but the colors are ripe, rich in pigment. "Malay Reef" is an uber flattering peony pink and "Marion Reef" is a delicious raspberry.
