I used the entire pump and thought about re-buying it because it has such a high SPF. But then I realized that there is almost nothing I like about it's texture or finish or fragrance or what it does for my skin.

This, although high in SPF, is a very oily moisturizer that doesn't play well with my foundations and other skin care products. It is highly fragranced, so much so, it burns my skin and eyes. I really didn't like it AT ALL the entire time I was using it, but I stuck with it because I wanted a higher SPF. Not a re-purchase, and I only gave it an extra lippie for the SPF 50, which I think more companies should go for. Good try Olay, better luck next time!

This product not only makes my face feel like it's burning, but it also alters the wear of my foundation. I personally find the scent to be inoffensive, which matches how ineffective the product is. Please believe me when I say that there is no amount of primer or powder that will offset the oily appearance that this gives you, and I'm saying that after trying everything in my arsenal. This provides barely enough moisture, and you need to use quite a bit to cover your entire face. I have normal, clear skin, and for some reason this brings out redness in it that I didn't even know existed, yet ceases to exist when I don't use this. I wanted to like this so much, but for the price and quality, I just can't justify it. I can't wait until it's gone, which hopefully will be soon.


Also, I wholeheartedly agree with the reviewer that said this is more like a serum than a lotion - there are virtually no moisturizing qualities akin to lotion and if you are even remotely sensitive to high SPF, you're in for a nightmarish experience with this,


UPDATE: I just put this in storage because I couldn't take it anymore - I tried using it up because it was expensive, but it just felt too bad on my skin. I switched to MAC Mineralized Charged Water Moisture Gel, and it is absolutely phenomenal. Don't waste your money or your skin cells with this crap.

This is not a good product. I have combo oily skin and although this does not feel too greasy, it makes my skin itch and I have more redness. I guess this is not suitable for sensitive skin. I also feel my skin peels with this moisturizer alone. Since it is somewhat on the pricier side I have decided to use it up by mixing it with another moisturizer such as my body shop aloe soothing lotion SPF 15. Now I do not get any redness or itchiness but I would never repurchase this product. Also I bought it on the recommendation of Paula begoun but I guess this does not work for me.

Ugh, the smell of this stuff is simply a deal-breaker for me. It is so strong, and it lingers for hours on my skin and for even longer on my clothes. It's too bad because the lotion is pretty good stuff, though it does occasionally burn my face. Olay also tests on animals, which only adds to my disgust with this product.

I used this for 2 days in place of my normal SPF, with no other change to my routine. It made me break out with tiny whiteheads all over my face and neck, and blotchy bumps all over. Normally my skin in clear, so I'm sure it's this. I've never had this kind of reaction to any product before, silicones, or fragrances, so I'm not sure what it is about this that causes the problems.

In addition, the product itself has a strong smell, and it balls up and sloughs off your skin super easily if you touch your skin or try to apply anything on top.

Total fail for Olay.

I purchased this based on the recommendation of Paula Begoun as I was looking for a high SPF moisturizer that contained beneficial ingredients for my skin. This one fit the bill and I eagerly purchased it. Unfortunately this doesn`t work for my combination skin as I find it too emollient and kind of greasy. I find as the day progresses my makeup starts to look and feel gross and oily, even on the drier areas of my face. I tried using this in conjunction with different primers and foundations, but always had the same results. I even thought this could be an option as an eye cream, but just made my concealer crease and fade horribly. I plan on using this product up as a moisturizer for my neck and chest, but not intentions of repurchasing.

love love love this stuff, been using it over an year, doesnt break me out, great ingredients for my skin and has spf 50, very light and thin, easy to blend, doesnt make my makeup run or crease, excellent product

I purchased this moisturizer after I read all the great reviews on it and some of my friends were using it and loved it. I purchased both the spf 50 and spf 15 I don't like to put on extra sunscreen because I have oily skin so I figured what the hey might as well go for the gusto and get the spf 50. I hated it. The smell was way to overwhelming and it felt greasy on my skin.

I gave it to my Mom who really likes it. Since I purchased the spf 15 I decided to give it a try and I much prefer it. I find that it doesn't smell as strong and it isn't nearly as greasy.

Wow, I am extraordinarily surprised by the bad reviews. I began using this after having read Paula Begoun's review, and this is the only sunscreen I will use. I think it's great: (1.) It does not cause breakouts as most sunscreen do on me, (2.) its is very light, (3.) it does not sting my eyes!!!!, and (4.) it's nice and light. That's my two cents. Great product!

By that way, when the product goes low and the pump fails, all you have to do is remove the cap and scrape the last bits out. I'm not really sure why anyone with intact motor skills would have trouble with that. Is that just the same as all products?

UPDATE: I think that this company engages in animal testing. While I will use up what i have, and sadly, I love this product, there are many others out there that do not require this cruelty. I therefore have to reduce its points to a three.

I made a big mistake when I bought this product -- I bought it without first checking reviews here. I would not have bought it based on what I have read here. After being sick for a few weeks, I wanted something to rev up my skin. I had used a Regenerist product in similar packaging years ago (it was a serum,) and I was excited to see this product with spf 50. When I got home with it, I applied a small amount to the back of my hand, just to give it a "test drive." The smell was terrible. I'm not usually sensitive to fragrances, but this was over the top, and it lasted all day. It is heavy, cloying, perfume-y and reminds me of the fragrance of a cheap face powder my great aunt used to buy at the drugstore 40 years ago. What gives, Olay? I can take a chemical smell, even medicine-y sometimes, but this is just too much. The product never made it to my face because I knew there was no way I could tolerate that smell for hours on end. It went back to the store this morning. Olay, in case you're interested, I bought Cetaphil face lotion with spf 15. It won't have the "Regenerist" skin improving action I was looking for, but I have a tube of Alpha Hydrox that will help with that.

This is not for oily or acne-prone skin. I think its excellent for dry/aging skin but every product I've used by oil of olay has broken me out.

This stuff is best worn as both your moisturizer and sunscreen, rather than just your sunscreen. I've tried wearing it over my moisturizer several times, but it's always way too much. It does soften my skin and it's lighter on your skin than the average spf, but even just worn on its own, it always makes my face appear extremely greasy (even during an accutane course!). I would steer clear if you have sensitive skin or hate shine--and are in any way prone to it.... And just to clarify, the sheen this stuff provided was a sticky looking sheen, not to be confused with a youthful or "dewy glow." I gave it 3 because I would still rather use it than the Neutrogena Ultra Dry Touch equivalent. That said, I still prefer Cerave's A.M. lotion to either of these.

This is by far my favorite SPF moisturizer, and I've been using it every day for two years. Because of my extremely fair skin, I use sunscreen religiously, and this has high enough SPF to be effective for me. Without it, I get freckles all summer and spend all winter getting rid of them. Fair skin damages very easily, leading to fine lines, discoloration, and any number of things best avoided. I love this lotion because it isn't greasy at all, it absorbs completely, smells nice, and most importantly doesn't cause breakouts. It's not expensive, I like the pump top, and it unscrews to let you get all the product out. I never want to be without it!

I generally shy away from suncreens purely because they all seem to leave a thick, greasy layer on my skin that feels awful and ends up breaking me out. I decided to give this a try since it was recommended by Paula Begoun.

While I can't say this stuff has thrilled me it hasn't been a complete disaster either. It doesn't feel too heavy on (I only use one pump for my whole face), it does leave a very shiny, greasy looking layer that never seems to sink in no matter how long I wait. I found this stuff burns like fire if I use it within a few hours of exfoliating or using an oil absorbing mask.

I will probably use the rest of this product unless it starts breaking my skin out, but I don't think I will bother to repurchase, if it looks too heavy now it will only look worse in summer and I doubt that I am getting much sun protection from using such a small amount anyway.

Worst moisturizer/ facial sunscreen I have ever tried. I don't even have sensitive skin and it STUNG like crazy and made my cheeks RED when I applied it to my face. I thought maybe I picked up an expired one - but I checked and the exp. date says 04/2012. The texture of this is what you would expect of an average lotion, but it feels greasy and sits on top of your skin without absorbing and without moisturizing anything either. Also, the sunscreen scent of this is incredibly strong and insufferable. Since I can't use it on my face and didn't want to waste the $20 I spent on this tiny 1.7oz of product, I thought I would use it on my neck, decolletage, arms... nope. It smells so strong that it morphs the scent of the perfume I wear. No thank you. I will be returning this to the drugstore and will NOT repurchase and I DO NOT recommend this to anyone.

Pros: Have sensitive skin and it did not make me break out.
Easily absorbed. Delivery system allows you to close it without contamination. Has spf 50. No smell.
Cons: very expensive for the quantity you get. did not improve skin tone "no regenerating" effects. Get Neutrogena Dry Touch for an equally good experience at one third the price.

After seeing ads for this line, and finding that it had an SPF 50, I decided it was worth a try.

The pluses: Not overly expensive (I got mine on sale at CVS); nice enough consistency; high SPF

The minuses: Packaging (just give me the item or put it in a box to recycle!); had to use more than I expected just to get good coverage on my face; as a result, the product is almost gone after a month and a half; and now I can barely use it, because the pump is situated where it will not grab any more product, so I have to open, shake the bottle, and the replace the top every single time.

Not worth it for me. I'm gonna look for something else to try. I also bought the serum, which I don't use as often, but I suspect this will become the same story in time with that product.

This product is called a "lotion", but I think of it more as a serum with sunscreen. I have used the Regenerist serum and this, to me, has a very similar consistency. It feels very silicone-y.

It is *not* the most hydrating lotion I've ever used. I chose it because it's not too oily, it doesn't break me out, it provides a good smooth base for makeup, it contains anti-aging ingredients, and it has an SPF 50.

I'm about halfway through my first bottle.

I can say for sure that it is effective in the following ways: It smooths very fine lines (crepe-y-ness, not really wrinkles)and it reduces dark spots. I do use other products which claim to do so, but I didn't notice the lightening effect until I added this product to my routine.

And although the lotion is not heavy or greasy, I've noticed that my skin retains moisture much better throughout the day.

There is a bit of shine with this product, which can be problematic for oily skins like mine. But it's not as shiny as most other sunscreens I've used, so I don't mind it. I'm prone to "oil slicks", but with this product I just get a mild dewy effect which is easily controlled with oil-control foundation and powder.

I use this lotion in conjunction with a glycolic acid (exfoliating) toner. I think this helps it soak into my skin and helps to reduce the chance of a greasy look.

I will repurchase this because I like the SPF 50 and the fact that it provides a very smooth surface for my foundation to go on. It feels good and doesn't break out or irritate my acne-prone skin.

The only thing I don't like is the fragrance. It's really strong. I'd prefer a fragrance-free version; but for me, the fragrance is not a deal-breaker.

This is so disappointing because I like the Regenerist line and wanted to love this product, but it is sooooo painful. It stung my face like a thousand bees and it didn't stop stinging for 30 minutes. This is such a shame because it's SPF 50 and full of good peptides and elements. I like the packaging and tried it for a week just to see if my skin would adjust to it, but no go, so I'll use it on my arms and legs.
