I'm finally starting to understand what the fuss over the Rouge G lipsticks is about, and let me tell you one thing: the cute case, flip-open mirror, shiny packaging and frills are there to impress the Jonses.
The creamy texture, light rose scent, super creamy (but not sticky) formula and shiny, almost glossy finish are for you.
Galante is a lovely nude (I match NC 40 in Mac and this covers some of the pigmentation on my lips), neutral to cool.
There's no doubt that this is an indulgence - you don't NEED something is expensive. That said, I WANT to buy another one, something warmer this time. But only after I finish two lip products I already own.

Perfect 'my lips but better' colour. It's great for the work place too. It lasts on me for about 2-3 hours if I'm drinking or eating, otherwise around 3-4 hours. The formula is very moisturising and soft, and is very comfortable. It does not feel heavy on my lips.
The packaging is really pretty and functional too. In fact, it's so good, I kind of wish all lipsticks in this price bracket came in a similar compact. It's so sexy to be able to whip this out and put on my lipstick while sitting at a table in a cafe, or restaurant, or wherever.

I bought this as a tester on ebay after reading these reviews. And it is outstanding ! Best colour and lipstick ever. It is moisturizing and stays quite well. The colour is very versatile. Will buy the original rouge g if I find it somewhere as I think it is discontinued. The colour is very good with neutral eyeshadow and even without eye make up.

I love Galante and didn't think I would! It's relatively dark, and has some brown to it, which is usually a big "no no" for me. Galante is a beautiful cinnamon red with some brown. It reminds me of a discontinued NARS lipgloss I used to love called Positino (which had shimmer, this does not). When topped with Chanel Pagoda, Galante shines and makes my eyes (warm brown) really pop. The texture is lovely, not much shimmer (if any) is noticable. Creamy and longwearing but not drying (like most of these lovely Rouge Gs). Scent very similar to Chanel Rouge Allure.
PS - I've been grabbing this a lot this fall. It's just lovely. It's a not a "lips only" shade like some reds and dramatic shades are - looks great with significant eye makeup too. LOVE!

Yesterday I got my Rouge G in Galante color!
It is nice rouge, long wearing, nondrying, and package is so charming, like some jewelry!
This color 09 is for some fair skin lady with darker hair color( Snow White look!) , it is wearable for day and for night! Very elegant and nice color, brownish- red with some purple undertone. Price is too high for some lipstick, but it is not dramaticaly expensive- Sisley, La Prairie, in my country even Elizabeth Arden are expensive too!

A definite winner from Guerlain. The best lipstick ever I've used ( in general, I'm a Kiss Kiss fan, but this is better by far), can be somewhat compared to Rouge Allure but much better color selection, staying power and overall appearance on lips. Not drying and intense color. Galante is a little darker than MLBB but is good for every occasion, a day out with kids, office and that special event too. I'm occasionally wearing glasses and good foundation and Galante are enough to make me look healty and polished. A killer price but well worth it. Though bulky package is disgusting.
Ah, myself Dior 022 with pale lips. Use a matching lip liner with my G.

I was so hyped for these lipsticks and wanted a Rouge G so bad. So much that I bought one with a GC, hated it, and convinced myself that I got a bad tube. Tried a second one with points, hated it, and convinved myself that it too was a bad tube. Third try was the charm, and Galante is a decent lipstick. Still not the revolutionary true lipstick love I was hoping the Rouge G's to be, but still a nice lipstick. Three lippies like my other Rouge G reviews, but Galante is the only one that merits a rebuy.
Galante balls less than my other two, is less drying and the color applies pretty evenly. The color is a brownish rose color, on my lips it is like a less mauve Chanel Silhouette RA. It is as intense color-wise as Garante, but less red. Galante, like Silhouette, is a little more intense than MLBB but isn't OTT either and could be worn with a clean face.
Nice color for pale girls and the only Rouge G I got to work for me.
